No, it's always been like this. He's always covered his lack of progress with retarded game modes, hairstyles and "added new music track". Why do you think he's never published anything without a video? Because he had to manipulate his simps into thinking that fuck all that he did in the last N days is actually a significant progress. Real game developers do that only when they have something to show, not when they have to explain why it takes 7 years to make something straight out of Steam Greenlight.

Hello!

Starting tomorrow, all teaser images will be silhouettes of upcoming rivals. This is because I think I can say with 100% certainty that I’m within 10 days of the video being finished. (My true estimate is lower than 10, but I’m saying “10” just to be safe.)

In other words, today’s teaser image is the last image that isn’t going to depict a character. This time, it’s not a graphic that will appear in the next build…it’s actually concept art for something that was created for the next build:

“Nippon Smiles” is the name of something that will appear in the 10 Rivals Update, and it needed a logo, so concept art was created depicting various different potential logos.

What is “Nippon Smiles” ? For now, it’s a secret! I won’t tell you! But you’ll definitely find out when the update drops!

What is the origin of this name? It’s actually a reference to a joke that a voice actress made on the commentary track for a DVD that was released in 2002. That’s one hell of an obscure reference, right?! If there is anyone reading this blog who actually knows what DVD and actress I’m referring to, maybe I should give them some kind of prize…

Actually, the voice actress who made that joke is actually quite active on Twitter! I wonder what she would say if I DM’d her and told her that I made her joke from 2002 into the logo for a –

I got curious about this reference so the first thing I did was check his Twitter following, but I forgot he only follows JonTron. Searches results in both English and Japanese only turned up MCZ shit. Among Japanese voice actors, Megumi Ogata and Noriko Hidaka both fit the profile of what he's describing (female, active on Twitter, voice acted on something (I'm assuming it's weeb shit) that was released on DVD in 2002).

I can't find anything, but the mental image of YanDev messaging Megumi fucking Ogata about a small reference in his quasi-famous mess of a game is hilarious, because it's absolutely the kind of thing he would do.

Starting today, I’ll be posting images of the brick wall I jerk off staring at instead of working once per day! This is because I feel confident that the 10 Rivals Update will be released sometime within the time between now and when my parents' cash runs out so my landlord evicts me! (If it happens sooner than that, I’ll post all the remaining wall pictures from the LA scrapheap I scavenge meals from.)

The wall pictures are going to be released in a specific order – however, I won’t tell you what the order is. I won’t tell you if this is the order that they chronologically were taken, or reverse chronological order, or alphabetical order, or my personal favorite angle of the wall order, or even if it’s a chronicle of the various cumstains on it by size and volume.
