Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

My friend, my guy, my buddy-boy, the "general public" are so gullible when it comes to the government Joe Biden and Nancy Polosi could show up at their homes, and proceed to gang bang them on their front lawn and they will still probably vote for them. Sure they will squeeze their fist and swear "this time will be different, this time I will vote differently". But then they will see the talky T.V. men tell them that any other choice is a vote for Super Saiyan turbo satan-hitler x2 and decide they don't want to be called a bigot nazi (or bignazy for short). Besides maybe if they vote for them this time they won't fuck them quite so hard?
Sure, I get that. What I meant though, was how much of the population can feel the game is rigged before it starts having downstream effects on the rest of government and/or society. Even if its NOT rigged and the people are living in a fantasyland, perception is reality. At some point, the widening gulf of trust in government institutions would have potential catastrophic effects.

Imagine if a new disease broke out today, and its 100% legit, some bugman fucked a bat or something and its incredibly deadly and transmissible but with a long incubation time. They've stretched their credibility so much that the effects of this or any black swan disaster becomes MUCH more dangerous.

The 3.5 thing is the full-throated infrastructure bill that is just a giant mountain of pork. the 1.5 trillion thing is a cutdown version of the infrastructure bill that Manchin proposed as a compromise. It was rejected. Both are the Infrastructure bill.
Ahh, ok. I get most of my news from Breaking Points podcast. I don't know if they're legit or reputable, but they at least cover stories that other outlets don't. I either didn't understand what they're talking about, or they explained badly/misrepresented it.

Oh no, they don't believe that. If the Republicans were to try the same they'd be apoplectic and cite a ton of good reasons. What they realize is that even after everything going in their favor, they still only got a razor-thin margin. It's now or never, the pendulum is actively swinging back now and if they don't pass it all now they never will get the chance.

So, to get rid of Trump, the dems paid a really high price eh? You think they are at least a bit aware of how much damage they inflicted upon themselves to get Biden on the WH?

Good. Now they need gun safety courses.
California recently is allowing private ngos and universities to access records of gun owners like their names and addresses.

The fight for gun control is keeping on going and the opposing side is going towards working with private corporations at this point since the government route is dead.

Don't know. Guess we will find out what that point is if/when the shootin starts. When that will be? Its a surprise!

That should slow things down some.

This seems to be the way forward with everything now. Maybe Amazon and Facebook can just simply implement the Infrastructure Bill themselves without any votes or new laws in DC.

you can see the answer to this in the areas of western states that got fucked by the helicopter war on pot in the 90s

there's no faith in government institutions and everything is run by open communists. no one expects government to do anything but fuck them and people just act like Julia in 1984 but work a lot less

Oof

Manchin's confirmation last night that there would be no deal anytime soon, Sinema leaving today, Bernie openly cucking (no surprise at all there) and still no mention by anyone of the the filibuster likely stopping this as well. Seems efforts right now are just trying to keep the base calm and slowdrip them into disappointment.

That's how vaccine mandates are going to go. Don't have to worry about it being illegal and having to enforce it en masse if all the Fortune 500 companies are going to do it anyway.

Isn't there a term for this when corporations work hand in hand with the government though its been going on for quite a while at this point.

Is the goverment going to monitor every bank account with more than $600 in it now or do one of these bills have to pass first?
One of these bills would have to pass, but I wouldn't be surprised if that got cut. The IRS has nowhere near the manpower to do this, even with AI. I could be wrong, but that is a near herculean task. And the banks don't want to do it, either, because it would be a monumental pain in the ass for them. They've attempted passing this before, so it's just more evidence that this "infrastructure" package is a hail mary attempt to get everything they want while they can.
