I don't actually follow Botan that close. Is the part about her grown up in the "bad part of town" refer to her real childhood and not just part of Botan the lion lore? Is she growing up poor like Kanata?

She did come from the bad part of town, she was a little annoyed that when cover updated the hololive website they removed that from her profile.
I dont think she was poor or specifically treated badly like Kanata but I wouldn't be surprised to learn she spent all day in the arcades with her brothers so they didnt have to deal with their parents.
