No Time to Die 007 - Time to Go Broke

"Kathleen Kennedy was totally going to be fired that one time. It's just last minute changes somehow makes her stay or secret dirt that allways seem to rub off of Igor and Chapack but her's is real and damning so they want to keep her around, that's all. So please, keep believing me and give me more of your money the next time I'll tell you that she will tottally be fired because that will totally happen."

It's funny because even no names know that you fail upward in Hollywood. Why the fuck would they get rid of Kathleen Kennedy, especially during these of all times?

It's almost like "the walls are closing in on Trump's administration" hysterical "news" stories pushed every day for the last four years by the shitlib media. How does someone listen to that kind of erroneous nonsense every day and not figure it out?

I've never watched a Doomcock video. The Fandom Menace, outside of someone more consciously centrist like a Robert Meyer Burnett, are insufferable. They're not worse than the wokesters, but they're almost as obnoxious.

I'd have said the same thing because I stopped watching their shit entirely about two years ago, but then I got to see the whole Zack Snyder and Mecharandom saga pop up in the Comicsgate thread and no, they're just as obnoxious now.

So I'm seeing that it made $22million on its opening two days. Is that good? I know nothing about box office norms. Apparently that's higher than Spectre, so I presume that it's good?

This will probably be taken as a green light by the studio and writers to push more non-Bond bond.

The thing is there have been female "James Bond" movies. Salt starring Angelina Jolie. Atomic Blonde starring whatsherface. I think at least the latter did well. There's no reason to replace James Bond other than to tear down a successful White Male character. His existence doesn't stop anyone creating their own female-led spy movies.

I'd say wait for the second weekend and see how much audiences drop off.

First weekend for the first Bond film in 5 years just after a global pandemic and after various mask mandates have been lifted in the UK is going to do well.

While your whiny strawmanning of my arguments implies you are either insanely jaded or a left winger. I wasn't saying Doomcock is always right, not even most of the time, I was saying that he could be getting legit info that's either a. quickly outdated b. possibly false misinformation pushed by legit disney employees (to try and fuck over their opposition and haters to make them seem full of shit) or c. some legit info mixed with falsehoods for plausible deniability.

I believe A and C are quite likely, with B being true in at least some cases.

This is just again from looking at leaks online over the years. I once found a legit 4chan leak of the game Prey (2017) that outlined the entire plot, including the ending. This was before the game was released and again, it was legit. So legit leaks DO happen, just they are mixed with a lot of false ones.

No one is saying leaks don't happen

We're saying Doomcock literally says anything he sees online

Especially when the word gets out about the ending.

Has Venom opened in the UK yet? In the US you’ve got Bond smooshed between Venom, Halloween, and Dune.

I do remember when that happened once. The Alex Kurtzman shit was posted on 4chan and then he relayed that "leak" in one of his videos. I do recall that.

It happens a lot. It just so happens that a lot of people only watch him and don't actually look for leaks anywhere else.

Almost every "insider" he has had has been dead wrong IIRC, because he literally just takes any email claiming they're an "insider" and adds the "take with a grain of salt" shit at the start of his videos

Not opened in the UK yet, I think. It's still all Shang Chi and Malignant and whatnot. Possibly the studios figured Bond would be a big deal in the UK and didn't want to open against it. My local cinema is wall to wall Bond showings. No idea how full they are. I lost interest in Bond with Skyfall. The franchise had just become too nasty with malicious brain surgery torture and the rest.

I want my hover-gondola and Union Jack parachutes. To this day, my favourite Bond Film is Live and Let Die with it's voodoo sorcery and opening sound track. Give me Jane Seymour and Baron Samedi, give me Felix Lighter saying: "A White man in Harlem, great disguise James!"

It wasn't Felix who said that, but the black CIA agent who meets him after his escape from Mr Big's henchmen. Live and Let Die is one of the best of the Moore Era. I know everyone shits on The World is Not Enough, but I like it. My favourites are Goldfinger and Thunderball.

NTTD isn't in cinemas in my neck of the woods until November. From what I have heard, its a good movie, but a terrible Bond film. I don't understand why everything needs to be deconstructed. Also, I don't understand the need to tie all the bond movies together, like having the DB5 in Skyfall, and then making M's office all in wood, like the original M's office. They do it in such a dumb way it doesn't make sense if you are a fan.

Salt and Atomic Blonde were both pretty good. If they had received a little more studio support and written to leave openings for sequels we might have seen something come from it. Unfortunately the studio environment in the last few decades has been very hard to work in, so it's not a big surprise.

I recall Salt was supposed to be a trilogy but nothing ever came of it. The director's cut on the blu ray was actually pretty badass and had a small little twist at the end that set up a sequel. (The new President she saved is a Russian super spy like her.) They probably should have shown that version in theaters.

I'm sad that No Time 2 Die (that title makes no sense now) actually made bank, but not surprised. There's been a media blitz around here for a few weeks now, plus that ridiculously disingenuous new trailer that hides black 007.

You forgot Haywire by Steven Soderbergh. Literally genderbent James Bond, right down to genderbendering the "Bond Girls" (minus the innuendo names, sadly). Marketing and the higher ups fucked it over though: Lionsgate badly wanted an action movie, Haywire was supposed to be a spy movie, Lionsgate pushed the poor guy to do some reshoots to add action-creating a year delay- and marketing showed an action flick while its in reality a spy flick with some action parts.

Needs to make $900mil to really break even though with it's countless delays and budget.

Can't talk about that one, it stars Gina Carano, who's persona non grata after not realising only the left are allowed to compare things to Hitler.

I'm out. Reddit wasn't lying.

The action scenes were pretty good and it's nice to see the Vantage getting some love, that was a seriously underrated car. Some ace acting from Craig too. Ana de Armas was great too.

However, Felix is dead, Blofeld went down like a bitch, M is now a fucking Bond villain, the actual villain did bugger all except be an incel and Nomi although not doing anything overly ridiculous was kind of obnoxious as a character.

Bond is dead, and with it the last cultural touchstone of an empire.
