Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

So picked up the book, I like it but my only major problem is that the game gives control to the players and honestly if I'm trying to introduce players to the setting as a whole this seems like a bad idea. Still adding it to my collection of huge books.

As I said, its one of those GM-less collaborative storytelling games. Pick up A Time of War and its splats if your store carries them.

Correct. Plus, if you're adjacent and fire, you can't kick either.

The Fafnir stows heavy gauss ammo in the legs, but it's hurting for crit space anyways, and there's no chance of an ammo explosion with gauss rounds.

A/B pods are somewhat situational, though they're REALLY effective if your opponent/GM throws infantry at you. I kinda wish they were a modular add-on you could stick on Mechs, but such is life.
M pods can be fired as an LBX 10. Advanced warfare rules.

I've killed shit doing that in a pinch lol.

Also do not like new crud. At all. Don't care I'm in a minority, it's a shit mech that's fun to Mook with but old art is great because the mech is clown shit might as well wear lrm boxing gloves and all for laughs.

If you remember crescent hawks revenge can snag em and awesome fun in urban stomping infantry and vees.

Speaking of LBX 10s I made a Marauder that dual wields em.

Looks neat, but rather slow for a 75ton mech.

If LBX 10s are your jam, you might wanna go for the Emperor, it carries pretty much the same weapons loadout (and then some), has JJs and it looks pretty baller in the new design:

Or you could go with the Annihilator which carries 4 of those suckers though no Jumpjets. I really really hated those Mechs in the Mechwarrior 3 game. Blasting from a distance with their damn shaprnell making my Mech fall over.

Personally I'm leaning towards slapping them on a Devastator. Saves you 4 ton each on the Gauss rifles, or one ton each for the DVS-1D. That will let you add back on the removed ton of armor and give you another heat sink. Although at that point I'd swap out the Large Lasers for a quintet of Mediums. That gives you 2 LB 10-X, 14 ML, and 16 SHS. Cool running, good endurance, and one of the most horrifying things you can run into in CQC. Best not have any weakened armor panels...

And remember, kids: despite the shotgun memes LB-X autocannons can fire solid shot just as well as a standard AC. So even if the opponent doesn't have any holes in their armor, you can make some yourself!

Look, as a Davion fanboy, I can say without a doubt that the humble LB 10-X is Lubalin Ballistics' gift to everyone. Some just receive said gift one shell at a time...

The Annihilator is a weird one for me. 12 tons of armor just sounds so underwhelming and 2/3 movement isn't that hot either, but holy shit 4 LBX-10s... But my heart is with the Devastator, cause when you need to ruin someone's day, you might as well take that son-of-a-bitch and fuck their shit up from half across the map.

Andf if you just want a wall of lead you can always go to the Quad RAC2 version of the Partisan tank. Yes it's expensive and RAC's can jam but a tank going BRRRRRRP is just something fun to behold.

The Air Defense version is neat, too. 2 LBX-10s, 2 AC-2s, a C3 slave unit and FF armor is a pretty decent loadout.

If you're not running Gausszilla, you're doing it wrong.
Thanks.. I was always wondering how that thing looked on a record sheet. After all 60 tons of Gauss rifles doesn't leave much left for the rest of the Mech. This Mech is mentioned in Operation Klondike as the prsonal mech of a Ghost Bear warrior and I have to admit Gausszilla is fitting

It's called the Annihilator C. The "C" doesn't stand for "Clan". It stands for "Cramped". I pity the poor MechTech that has to do anything inside that thing.
I bet any Mechtech that ever had to work on that thing can be sent into a massive "lie in fetal position and cry"-level PTSD by the words:
whoops. Sorry boss, I dropped a bolt... now where did it go?
