Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

I bet any Mechtech that ever had to work on that thing can be sent into a massive "lie in fetal position and cry"-level PTSD by the words:
whoops. Sorry boss, I dropped a bolt... now where did it go?
Well, at least its not as bad as the Fafnir that has no free crits. Have fun yanking off all the rear torso armor just to get at the Gauss Rifles. Of all sad words of mouth and pen, none are as sad as these: "Hans, ze gyro broke again." What makes things even more hilarious is that Annihilator-C has the "Easy to Maintain" quirk. So, is it cramped? Is it not cramped?

Technically, the Annihilator C with the Easy to Maintain quirk is the one with the four Ultra 10s, and the quirk is a function of the chassis itself. Custom designs can and usually have different quirks. Me, I'd probably give the Gausszilla Distracting instead of Easy to Maintain. Both are 1 point each, and it just makes way more sense like that.

Pretty much. "Wait, are those.... five Gauss rifles? GOD HAS ABANDONED US!"

The Battle Computer usually tries to guess what weapons the target is carrying. In the Gausszilla's case, the readout screen only shows YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME.
I prefer the official motto of the USAF's Wild Weasel pilots: "You Gotta Be Shitting Me". Well, technically not, but YGBSM appears on enough squadron logos the only thing preventing its official adoption is that it looks yucky to the generals.

Why make a comment littarly no one cared.
>With the understanding that trans rights is not a political issue, we will allow the team to use either of their original choices as their team name.
>Wave around a flag while masked and bash and dox anyone who disagrees.
Pretty sure they're making it a political statement. Trannies can go seethe and dilate for all I care.

Isn't that how it always goes? I'm sure 90% of gamers wouldn't give a shit about trannies if they weren't so fucking pushy with everything. Just play the goddamn game and shut up, you assholes.

Got another meme drop for you guys.

Looks neat, but rather slow for a 75ton mech.

If LBX 10s are your jam, you might wanna go for the Emperor, it carries pretty much the same weapons loadout (and then some), has JJs and it looks pretty baller in the new design:

Duane Loose's art was iconic, but the TRO the original Emperor was in was...special. I'm a much bigger fan of the newer art. I'm partial to the -6M2 myself, at least in theory. The poor LGR, FASA did it dirty all those years ago. It's a tricky weapon, but paired and with ER LLs, especially if you can afford jump jets, it's very mean. Or you can just throw LGR and LGR/MML Ontos tanks at people.

Shit, that happened to me in the last game I played. I had an Awesome and decided to park my 80 ton arse in some level 1 water to get more cooling so my PPCs volleys would come faster.

I roll a fucking snake eyes to enter the water.

Thud. God fucking damnit. This was after my Banshee had hit a Victor in the face with two punches and ripped its head clean off, too. Among the other BT players in my group, I have something of a reputation when it comes to my Mech and water; I tend to blow the PSRs. I once beat my Ostsol half to death with flubbed PSRs trying to cross a one-hex river.

Same. But I'll give Loose's older art this: the guy went for some dynamic camera angles a lot of BT artists wouldn't dare try. Sure, staring at the soles of the Grand Crusader is a bit unsettling, but at least the 'Mech was clearly on the move. That's more that can be said for a lot of TRO illustrations.

I know the pain all too well. Except in Alpha Strike (no PSRs!), I've simply taken to treating water hexes as impassable. After all...

I never warmed up to the LGR myself, precisely cause I never found a stock Mech with an LGR that I liked... but it's essentially an AC-10 that trades a tiny bit of damage for way more range and a nice boost in ammo-per-ton.
One AC-10 with one ton of ammo can do 120 damage, the LGR with one ton of ammo does 128 damage, but has a medium range that exceeds the long range of the AC-10 (ie: much higher hit probability).

On paper, the LGR is pretty nifty, but it seems it's terribly underused.

It is pretty poorly used on Canon designs. It's really a replacement for AC/10s and a replacement for paired AC/2 at the same time. You use it to punish fast lights thanks to that 17-hex medium range band. That also lets it remain useful on more mobile mechs, since the big range brackets help counter their own movement penalties. You'd wants multiples on bigger mechs, but an ideal LGR medium would have one, a fair bit of speed, jump jets, and maybe an ERLL if you can afford it. Skirmish, harass, and dissuade those fast lights like the Solitaire from getting too close. I'm pretty sure the Wolf Empire's Wulfen is an explicit hard counter to LGR mechs being used like that.

It's a tricky weapon to use, but like everything League it's meant to be a team player.

Yeah, you'd think swapping out AC-10s for LGRs should be a no-brainer. Not as much damage a pop, but very effective for sniping units. I guess the "competition" from LBX-AC-10s and UAC-10s is just a bit too big.

The LGR would do great on mechs like the Blackjack though. There's only one version of the Hollander carrying an LGR, oddly enough. You'd think that mech would be pre-destined to go for a lighter weapon, so it can add some other equippement/armor.

The M113 Armored Personnel Carrier was infamous for having a 'diff monster'- tools/parts dropped into the engine/differential bay were basically non-retrievable as it had no access hatch underneath it. And no, the tool kits did not come with spares.
There were a lot of M113 crews that ended up buying new tools with their own cash. And most M113's would sound like a half-full piggy bank if you could shake them.
So this sort of thing happens in real life now, it's not unlikely that such issues would continue in the future.

The wave 2 boxes got me all hot and bothered, but until they are released around where I live, all I can do is to plan out Lances that I want to paint in the future when I get my giant dose of plastic crack.

Yesterday, I looked through the lances and the one with the Nightstar and Bushwacker caught my attention... and the Axman. My god, the Axman. I'm usually not a huge fan of melee weapons in BT, but I got this idea of putting together a Lance for urban combat with the Banshee, the Axman and the Hatchetman to mug people in the streets. I spent all evening yesterday to come up with a nice forth Mech but couldn't find one that would offer what I am looking for at the BV that I have left over with the other three. Eventually I thought that a Centurion might be decent, so I looked up which Lance pack it is in... so to make a long story short: I spent at least an hour yesterday going through different mechs of various weights and in the end, I am taking the Heavy Battle Lance and replace the Grasshopper with a Hatchetman.

Anyway, I wanna paint them in the colors of the 15th Arcturan Guards, cause them tiger stripes are sexy as fuck.

I have no clue who that is or what he does but if he's the artist that made that artwork, I really hope he'll give us sexy Canopus Catgirl pinups.

One a sidenote, I want to get a Watchman 4DM for one of my lances, but I can't find the mini anywhere (and I think it doesn't look particularly good anyway), so any suggestions for a suitable proxy? Something with one large weapon in the left arm and ideally with two MLas-like weapons in the right...
