Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

2. They were browbeaten into it. Sea-sick drifters who constantly saw that "The end is nigh" everyday in 2020's corporate news cycle. They had to contemplate Trump over everything he did for 4 years. They "lost" everything because they didn't tow the correct line. Sad.
Yep, apolitical or barely-political independents who were sick of the screeching probably just voted Biden to "end the division"

Can't believe the Dems were arrogant enough to pull stuff like this off though. Even Saddam Hussein used to at least pretend to get 99% of votes.

The number of times people I had thought were intelligent, told me the day after the election that "it makes sense for Biden to get 95-100% of the mail-in vote because Trump TOLD people not to vote by mail" made me lose faith in humanity.

Yep, nothing at all suspicious about 4 am mail-in voting that was 100% for Biden. I'm the conspiracy theorist here.

They get what they deserve.

I do wonder how far they can push the use of the National Guard before they start to run into a bunch of legal concerns.

Using the NG to supplement emergency medical services? Pretty free pass.

Using the NG to drive schoolbuses and fuel tankers? For a short term emergency, maybe, but how long until they're just using underpaid military labor to drive out private business and civilians from the market, intentionally or otherwise? Is the line drawn at state services like the schools, or are we gonna see PFC Hoodrat forced to drive the Pepsi shipment into NYC.

If they keep trying to paper over passive protest with the military, someones gotta start sounding the alarm at some point, right?
There's also - and more pertinently, I feel - the problem that you just can't make the military do everything. The entire National Guard (and you can leave out Guardsmen who live in red states, so most Guardsmen) is only 450,000 men. Some of these are already deployed abroad, not fighting per se but just garrisoning bases. The Army is another 500,000 men but you can only justifiably requisition a small sliver of these troops before it starts causing actual problems abroad. If Democratic governors keep up this push of forcing entire industries at random to purge their unvaccinated employees the manpower's just gotta run out eventually.

"But they'll just import foreigners!" you might say. No. If the DHS and ICE and all them had more manpower (thank Trump for unintentionally killing their recruitment inflow) they'd be doing the same thing they did under Trump, and lefties would be calling them evil fascists. Some of them are still doing that.

Have you ever wondered why Trump said that? Why would Trump repeatedly set his own followers up to fail?

I mean, if he's not allowed to block people on Twitter as a politician, why are they allowed to block him?

This, basically.
Honestly, now I would argue that Trump is better off without Twitter. Not only does it create a narrative of silencing Republicans, but Trump at this point is better as a myth/legend than seeing him brain dump on Twitter every hour.
100% agree. Look at the rapturous reception he gets at his rallies, and when he visited NYC and that MMA fight on 9/11.

I think in the back of Trump's mind, he thought either one of two things:

1) If he encouraged people to vote in person, the independents would vote in person and there wouldn't be these convenient mail trucks. A bad idea.

2) Trump might have thought that his own mail-in votes would be thrown out for "irregularities." That would at least make sense. I mean, I don't know if it happened, but I saw more than one idiot on social media faking that he was working the post office and throwing away Trump votes for clout/to fight racism. Trump might have been worried that his own mail-in votes would have fallen off the back of the post office trucks.

I would say that perhaps policing yourselves would be a good idea but Chicago has proven that violence doesn't solve dumbassery. And I'm out of ideas.
They're just not using enough violence on the right people.

There were several cases where military ballots were found on the side of the road and such, but it was never large enough in numbers to make a difference.

It is also better for Twitter to slowly strangle itself on its own rage.

Chicago was compared to Iraq with the level of violence. It is comparable to a warzone. The next level would be industrialized murder.
