I personally wanted Crash, but at this point, I was expecting anybody to have been announced, just like the last few reveals. Sora blew my mind, even though I never cared for Kingdom Hearts.

I wanted Joan Crawford.

Because apparently the fighters pass being a "Celebration of gaming" was misinterpreted, as apparently Nintendo/Sakurai thinks the only genres of games that exist are JRPGs, platformers, and fighting games. You know those two characters that were in games that defined and borderline created new super popular genres? Yeah just make them Mii fighters, gotta get my Disney™ advertisement game MC in the game instead.

I grew up playing Kingdom Hearts, so I have an attachment to the series, but even so I thought Sora would never make it in. I thought he was too tied up in rights issues to have a chance. Plus the people whining to have him included annoyed me after a point.

I'm pleasantly surprised honestly.

I really had no dogs left in the fight. So I had no excitement. Kinda wanted Doomguy for the memes, Mii costumes guy better picks than most of the DLC fighters. NES/SNES Final Fantasy rep was probably the only thing that could of gotten me excited, and Sephiroth killed that like the void of interesting he is.

Good for the Kingdom Heart spergs. In terms of weirdos very excited for choices I didn't care about, I was rooting for the Waluigi tards, but I ain't gonna be mad that someone a lot of people wanted got in. That isn't named Sephiroth.

Move set is pretty boring though. There are being secretive about the Final Smash though... Probably a lot of Square characters get a cameo, but maybe the Mouse comes in a smashes shit with his gay key?

Also this. Some of these choices were just bizarre to me, like Joker. An FF character that's relevant to Nintendo would have been way better than jerking off FF7 not once but twice. Terra would have been fun, and so would Cecil (even if they used the gay ass switching mechanic from Dissidia).

I honestly would have preferred they brought in someone like Yuna with 'summoner/gunner' switch mechanic. and do the opposite villian of Seymour.

Kefka is hands down the best villain that franchise has ever had, and it's not even close. But stabbing the dumb flower girl is so much better than defeating ALL the heroes(even the ONE hero that gets the party back together to end him first tries to KILL HERSELF), taking over the world, and ruling over it on top of your pile of Gods. And most importantly he has a full set of wings!

They could have added alot of characters. Almost all the Mii fighter costumes would have been better picks than what they actually picked.

In terms of licensing unexpectedness Sora is pretty good. Compared to the likes of Pyra/Mythra and especially Byleth he is a lot more interesting.

In terms of actual character though... meh. Kingdom Hearts' original characters (and story) are embarrassing, it's really the gameplay that made those games what they are. There are tons of characters I would have preferred, but that is true for everyone and it could have been so much worse. I am actually more bummed one of the last Mii costumes wasn't Hollow Knight... I want it to get represntation and dared to dream it might even be a music inclusion.

Sora has some good moments as a character. It really depends on the game and how much pain they are putting him though at the time. I liked him in KH2 when he started to get more and more pissed off at the villains. And it was neat how he got wrecked pretty hard at the end of Dream drop distance. Although he was starting to regress as a generic all loving kid character up until the end of KH3.

Also all disney stuff has been scrubbed from it, Donald and Goofy are gone from the mural on that stage. Very soulless, thanks disney

Im fairly certain the disney is going to have less and less of a presence in KH going forward.
