The "science diagrams that look like shitposts" twitter account. At first the account was exactly that. Pictures from science books that look like shitposts. I hadn't checked it in a long time, and sure enough, it's now promoting gofundmes for random "minorities/marginalised people". According to the replies, they quietly deleted a tweet promoting a scam.

Seriously, I'm a lesbian, but I don't take offense if a character is het. But apparently the writers felt it was appropriate to throw a bone to the TRAs (probably because they would have a seizure if cool, rebel Mariner was just a boring cishet woman). As a Brit, I'd often hear about how great Heavy Metal Magazine was, so much so that I planned to pick up an issue if I ever visited the states. I heard they went woke in recent years and I doubt it's worth reading any more.
In reading about them recently, I learned that Heavy Metal was mostly just euro comics and art repackaged for an american audience. Making me question if I missed anything of note.

It was generally erotic pulp. It wasn't bad, and it wasn't great either. I've got a few mags from the late 80s up to the late 90s and while there's a lot of shit in there that was definitely made on drugs (or worse: written by a Frenchman), the art was usually good, and if all you wanted were short plots, striking visuals, and well-drawn tits that was the best publication for it.

I played back in the 90s. My interest started to fizzle around 1999 or so. I played a tiny but of Ravnica and Kamigawa in college, but then went dormant until 2021 (my kids just got into it, roping me along for the ride).
What the fuck is this. Awful, sterile, digital art. Black "Vikings" and other Netflix tier shit. I went looking at online card databases out of nostalgia and saw that they've either censored the art of -- or outright purged -- "problematic" retro cards. Stumbled upon some article about an MtG artist who was fired for Twitter wrongthink. Jesus Christ.
Just bad shit all around. Kids and I have purchased hundreds of cards in recent weeks and I was embarrassingly pleased to finally stumble across one with a cute white woman:
(looks like the artist may be from "based" Poland.)
Still having some fun with the game, but holy shit am I happy I held on to some of my old cards.
I don't want my fantasy shit to be "right-wing." I do want it to be authentic and tough and cool. None of this state-sanctioned pre-approved nonsense.

Honestly, the wokeness isn't the biggest problem, and is mostly restricted to the fact there's a completely shoehorned plot about a black gangster working his way up the ladder. A baffling choice, considering that The Sopranos' depictions of blacks was frequently its weakest moments.

It was really hit or miss. They had creators like Moebius , Alejandro Jodorowsky, and Richard Corben, but they also had dumb stories about women with huge tits having sex with robots. I have no idea what it's like now, but it seems like they're focusing more on mainstream American artists.
