The Kiwifarms china floodwatch 2020 thread. It was good, until the usual reactonary bunch came by and turned all interesting aspects of it into dumb speculation, retard hot takes and chicom hatred.

As of late a lot of metal bands (more like every musician not just metal) have been very annoying and kinda disgusting with their support of the rioting and "ACAB" shit.
I can tolerate a lot when it comes to opinions of bands/musicians/artists if they are contrary to mine. For example, I really enjoy System of a Down even though most of the band members are pretty much socialist types and the message of their music is a bit autistically leftist.
However when you are supporting (and donating money to) people and organizations that are actively engaging in rioting, looting and murder it becomes less about disagreement and more about their character. It's just gross manipulation to get the lowest common denominator involved in your hate campaign. "Woah this band I really like says I should donate money to some rioters bail fund? Ok I will!"
Get fucked if you think I will support your subversive efforts to destabilize the nation.
It's always funny to me since half of the people that this cynical form of signalling is supposed to attract will hate this genre of music for being "too white".As of late a lot of metal bands (more like every musician not just metal) have been very annoying and kinda disgusting with their support of the rioting and "ACAB" shit.

Now, Batman and Robin, on the other hand....Also all the morons that take the homoerotic Batman/Joker subtext seriously. They HATE each other. They're not about to actually start banging each other. They're dynamic is that of balanced need, good and evil, light and dark, etc..
In short, it fell victim to al-Beeb's newly found insistence on "starting a conversation." Episodes started almost always having "if you have been affected by the issues in this programme, call our hotline" voiceovers over the credits.
Also Casualty had an episode where a crime army destroyed the hospital for poorly defined reasons.
The only time this has really worked, to me, was a very specific interpretation of Batman, specifically Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Grant Morrison intentionally wanted to portray that Batman as sexually repressed, and The Joker there was specifically acting homoerotically to make Batman uncomfortable because he thought it would be funny. Also all the morons that take the homoerotic Batman/Joker subtext seriously. Do Hollyoaks still do those cheesecake calendars of the stars in a hotel swimming pool in a state of undress, or is that too problematic for current year?
There's http://www.rpc-wiki.net/ at least.I'm really into the web comics and online horror, so the stuff that I like (and been ruined) have threads on here as well.
First up Homestuck, Acts 1 - 5 were great, Act 6 was bad, Act 7 was a disaster. however, Hussie (the creator) made things even worse by starting Homestuck 2.0 which is being written by a crazy SJW called Kate
SCP Foundation, a horror writing collabortive community got over taken by troons and pc types, it also doesn't help that Admin/Mod Team is full of pedos
Check these out if you really want see how downhill it gone down

Tbh I used to think it was just the MCU/DCU that's ruined for me, and that the comics could still be okay.
Then, The New Warriors was announced, and honestly, now I'm just more curious what kind of drugs they're getting at the Marvel branch at Disney, because that must be some good shit.
Maybe J.K. Rowling is their supplier, because Christ, never seen an author retcon so much of their own published work got the sake of politics, and I say that as a begrudging Blizzard fan.
There was an episode I saw recently, the first SNL I've watched in years tbh. Cold open was Brad Pitt as Fauci, and, even though I didn't find it funny, I could at least dissect that sketch and say "okay, here's the setup, here's the punchline." It wasn't funny (to me), but at least the anatomy of a joke was there. But later, the episode had a sketch that devolved into one of the cast members just screaming "SHAME ON YOU, MR. PRESIDENT, SHAME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU." Sorry, but I thought I was watching a comedy show? There wasn't even an attempt at a joke and THAT'S really what drives me up the wall. At least if the bones of the joke are there, I can give them points for that, even if I, personally, don't find it funny. But just nonsensical screaming at the president? That's just propaganda at that point. At least Pete Davidson's song with Adam Sandler got some laughs out of meI was really into late 80s-mid 90s Saturday Night Live, right up until Will Ferrell got too big for his britches. When they stopped satirizing out of love (who wouldn't want to party with their version of George Bush or be at Janet Reno's dance party?) and went straight up propoganda.
Replacing Cecily Strong with pussy ass Michael Che put an end to my even occasional viewings.

I honestly can't recall if the episode had "Plod Turd Man" in it or not. It was a few months ago, and outside of a handful of moments, I tuned it out. I think a lot of political humour has always been lazy, and I tend to avoid it in general, but it feels like it's gotten a lot worse, and inescapable, over the past few years, and stopped all attempts at even trying to be funny. For example, I really liked The Colbert Report back in high school. I watched nearly every episode, and Stephen Colbert, the exaggerated caricature, was hilarious to me. Stephen Colbert, the actual guy, in his current show, just sucksThey're not even trying. Wasn't that the programme where they got half a ton of easy laughs by pointing out that Donald Trump is an anagram of "Plod Turd Man" and spent the rest of the episode just milking that one barely funny gag.
Then again, I remember in the 2000s there were loads of American "comedians" who made a living off repeating "BUUHHH GEORGE DUBYA BUSH LOOKS LIKE AN APE."
