Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Except there is. Because they aren't a pariah state. Everyone does business with them, it is their people on the UN council, it is them that is thought of when the word "China" appears. Everyone legitimized them decades back.
Everyone doing business with them isn't a factor that changes the state they're in. If you smell like shit and everyone does business with you, you still smell like shit.

China isn't under a legitimate rule and it's a fucking world-wide open secret that we're all "okay" with. The CCP knows damn-well better that they aren't legitimate and seek to fix that.

Yeah, like how 3.5 trillion is actually zero.
So to explain that stupid fucking concept, something is considered to 'cost' something in politics if it is not directly correlated to either a tax increase or other returned revenue. You'll notice, all of Biden's stuff is clearly referring to this concept. Likely what he was informed of by his handlers. An example of deliberately misleading with it would be Pelosi.

You saw something similar to this with Kabul, when Biden insisted that people's issue was him leaving Afghanistan at all. I suspect that his handlers realize he won't remember the nuance, so latch onto something fairly simple for him to remember and try to spin it from there. So, based on what Biden knows with his disease-addled brain, he -is- being honest. It doesn't 'cost' anything in political terms.

They don't need to crush Taiwan for legitimization. You just said it, we all agreed to be okay with it. That's all that needs to be done. By universal consensus by all parties that matter, the CCP gets to be legitimate.

All it takes is "you're an illegitimate government, fuck off" for a rebuttal or even causus belli. They're not legitimate and they know it. It's the entire reason they're so paranoid about it for fuck's sake, bullshit aside.

Probably makes as much sense here as anywhere else.

OAN (One America News) confirmed as controlled opposition.

Reuters Article

So Newsmax emerges well less controlled compared to Fox or OANN. So Jack Poso is a plant?

We are all fucked.

I simply disagree. The only country with a potential casus belli would be Taiwan, and they sure as shit ain't got the power to use it. Why be concerned about an issue which will never be an issue? And that rebuttal of "Fuck off" loses all weight when every single country on earth, even the most powerful state allied to Taiwan, acknowledges China as legitimate.

You're acting as if countries don't have a basic understanding of each other's history. CCP- controlled China isn't some African shithole you jackass, if anyone wanted a rebuttal to a CCP official the number one "go fuck yourself" option would be to note that their revolution isn't complete without Taiwan.

There, that's sorted.
Correct, and Realpolitik is only concerned with the de facto state of things.

There is no reason to resort to name-calling.

Ok, I know this is 2-3 weeks late, but this is the first time I've heard of this story.

Part of the $3.5T plan was to "subsidize" journalists $50K/year?

That doesn't seem biased at all! No wonder they are sperging the fuck out about it so much.

They keep nudging him closer and closer to what the guy currently in the governor's seat he wants did. Which is, change from a Democrat to a Republican.
If this were to happen it would be glorious how every media hack and tard on twitter will tell us that it is unprecedented, racist, an afront to our democracy and how the rules should be changed to prevent it, despite this happening to republicans more than once.

Here ya go.
Edit:
The “Payroll Credit for Compensation of Local News Journalists” offers print and digital publishers up to $50,000 a year for each journalist on staff.
OK, the killing of this bill is 100% justified, because HOLY SHIT. :stress:

I feel like China's biggest "threat" to taking over Taiwan isn't the US, it's Japan. Japan and China HATE each other, and Japan would have no problem fucking with China just on general principle.

Maybe I'm completely wrong about this though.
I would love to see Japan give Chin what for.

This, by the way, is why realpolitik is not the be-all, end-all form of political consideration. Despite his unusual vehemence here, @LurkTrawl is not wrong in that it can be a problem for them. It's just not a problem for them under Realpolitik.

Here is another version from the Washington Times.

I don't know if this is just a legal technicality, but both articles state that the bill doesn't pay the journalists directly, only the publishers get paid per journalist. I'm sure the money would then be given to the journos, but I at least found it interesting.

Kill this bill with fire. Then drive a wooden stake into its heart. Then stuff a bulb of garlic in its mouth.
