I'm not getting into longpost territory here, but the TL;DR is that the people of NYC didn't really get a choice in the likes of Cuomo and Deblasio shoving their fucked-up policies onto them; they (and the Dem establishment) imposed that shit without any regard for them. Even AOC didn't initially get in via the right channels; the DSA primaried her in via a district nobody gave a shit about. Even the most oldschool power-groups in NYC fucking despise the likes of the current establishment Dems.

I guarantee that if any deeper research was done into things, sweeping electoral malfeasance on par with AZ's would be found effortlessly, almost exclusively focused on keeping NYC's Dem establishment class enshrined, because there is no way anyone living in NY would come to any other conclusion after seeing, in real time, what happened here over the last three years.
