I don't think you can hold other currencies inside of a PayPal account, it all gets automatically exchanged/converted upon making the purchase. If they were socking, they would need a PayPal account from another country. It doesn't seem impossible or anything, just really unlikely to be socks imo.

Mate, the lonely coffee boy was contacting owners of old YouTube accounts to buy them just to make it seem like they were genuine fans of Phil.

Never underestimate the autism of these folks.

Btw, I'm 100% sure that OIC is still around and tipping. Just saying.

I know you can (or at least used to be able to) convert your PayPal to another currency, but I think it's specifically only if you're using it for something in another country. I'm mostly basing this off of a single purchase I made a year or two ago, so it might be different now.

But even if it was an option, I don't think it'd be socks. Not because they aren't dedicated enough to do it, but Phil has always had a fair amount of European paypigs since way before his followers were making sock accounts.

It's less about the willingness to, more about the actual practicality of the situation. I don't believe it's viable to do that without having a legitimate European identity.

Well these are Super Chats which I believe are charged straight to your credit card through Google. His PayPal tips are automatically converted to USD before he even receives them from what I can tell.

In essence, the only time we can sorta tell where a paypig is from is when they do a Super Chat (e.g. Anshengforever Super Chats in NOK so he is from Norway).

You can instantly change the currency on Superchats simply by changing countries on your VPN. I can tell my VPN to pretend I'm in Ontario and it'll instantly change to CAD without me touching anything else.

And that's fair. Again, I don't doubt stupidity when it comes to giving Phil money is a global thing. But given lonely beverage mate's "attempts" at 4D chess, you kind of can't underestimate the sheer lunacy of some people. Speaking of loony toons, whatever happened to TheDevilUK?

I said the same thing about why they weren't tipping the minimum $1.00 for a superchat, and came to the conclusion that it was a certain whale pretending to be a detractor.

I can tell Phil is honest with me when his eyes dart across the room, he sways back and forth like he's on the titanic and he always reminds me how honest of a guy he is. Most rumours are based off of a nugget of truth. Sadly since losing his Twitch Partnership, he needs our help more than ever. Tips help the most.

Couple things to consider though: My financial institution never charges fees for converting transactions to foreign currencies, but many will charge a 3% fee based on the USD value of the transaction. So, if you do choose to go this route, contact your financial institution first to see if any fees apply on their end. Still, a 3% fee on USD$1.00 is USD$0.03. It's nothing.

Not everyone has a VPN for whatever reason. If you do have one and you're going to troll Superchat, then absolutely. If you don't have a VPN, then you probably have better uses for USD$1.00 than trolling Phil.
