Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Kliksphilip here has been doing monthly vids on what Corona is like over in the UK. He strikes me as a neutral person but I dunno.
He's kind of pro vaccine. I saw someone commented they didn't want the vaccine since it was developed too fast and he was quick to try and refute them. I still enjoy his videos though.

i just visited portland maine and it was pretty great, almost nobody wearing a mask. one thing i noticed was 99% of people who wore a mask were in groups of people all wearing masks so they were most likely all visiting from boston or other hyperliberal cities

damn it I almost got confused with the other portland.

The director of the Medical Ethics Program at UC Irvine challenged the vaccine mandate in court. He's been put on administrative leave so that he can't make money seeing his patients or seek employment elsewhere.
Guess they don't need medical ethics at Irvine.

It gives me hope. MSNBC, CNN, and every video with the CDC seems to get an ass hammering before YouTube starts to moderate it, and it's beautiful.

Username checks out, and get well soon.
Thanks all ready feeling better
Oddly enough the doctor I was cooffing all over never tested me for anything other than The Shanghai shivers. Guess the regular flu just isn't important anymore

I am still in awe with how the media complex has turned sections of the populace into raging hypochondriacs. They have destroyed relationships among families and friends over a fucking shot within the course of a year. To paraphrase a problematic clown movie, the worst part of being unvaccinated is people expect you to behave as a pariah.

Supposedly flight controllers in Jacksonville, Florida have been walking out?

I'm skeptical of this.
Check this out:

Yahoo News: 28% of SWA Flights cancelled Sunday

Someone replied in that same tweet thread that SWA pilots were planning to walk off the job today. Could this be related to their jab mandate?

Test for flu? That's just a waste of time, It's practically nonexistent this year! 🤡
That's not what I'm hearing. My dad (who is eager to get boostered up, wears double masks, thinks everyone who won't get vaxxed is a Trumper) just got his flu shot because he heard (probably from cnn or msnbc) that the flu is supposed to be really bad this year.

Sounds like the flu is back, baby.

the 00s weren't the mid-late 10s. every single one of my teachers asked for pronouns by senior year in september 2017. here's approximate dialogue from early 2016:
"good news class, hillary won the latest primary!"
"meh, bernie sanders is better"
"BEN NO POLITICS IN SCHOOL"
one time i got sent to the housemaster's office for saying very carefully that in my opinion people were overreacting to this
I always thought my college was pretty moderate since even in the liberal arts classes several professors openly said communism had a lot of problems and none of them told me to vote Democrat or discussed how great their political views were but this was the Obama era. I bet it got way worse in the Trump years.

I think the insanity over Trump was just an early version of the propaganda blitz we're seeing now. I voted for Bernie in 2016 but even then I thought the opposition to Trump was insane. Like why would people freak out over some loudmouthed guy? It feels like 2016 and 2020 were huge moments in ratcheting up the propaganda narrative to spread fear and chaos. It worked too, since the Democrats are now the party of fear and paranoia like they're a mirror image of what they think the Republican Party is.

Maine and New Hampshire are the sane parts of New England. It was really weird going from Connecticut with people wearing masks outdoors to New Hampshire where you can go to a restaurant and no one but a few old people and one of the fatter servers wears a mask. Which is still too many, I prefer restaurants near where I live in my red state where it's crowded as hell and zero people or staff wear a mask.

yeah in 2016 i was too young to vote but i supported bernie due to (at the time) being consistently anti-establishment (like actually fighting for civil rights in the 60s) and when he lost the primaries i reluctantly backed trump and bathed in the liberal tears when he won because fuck hillary. i was pretty appalled at all the bernie bros (including my own parents) who wanted that crook to win just to own drumpf

I am neither male nor fighting age. But I really have been considering going to Slovakia as a refugee. I'm being entirely serious. I'm not sure if people from where I'm from can, but I'm white, happy to go to Church, learn the language and assimilate, and their President is being pretty fucking based about the clotshots. I'm really, really considering it.

Male, you are most certainly not, and fighting age, you may no longer be.

But fuck me, I'd want you on my side, should push ever come to shove.

And any country you applied to would do well to let you in, if for no other reason than you could probably fight better than half their uhmale population. Not subscribing to the You Go Girl rationale here, and yes, women are an order of magnitude weaker than men, both physically, and also mentally, a lot of the time. But not all of the time. Physically weaker, yes, all of the time, but mentally weaker, not so much.

Plus, when you bitches get together, it's a good idea to have a strong one leading the charge. No offense! Because if it really is every man, woman and child for himself (herself), well, you can imagine how that goes. A little faith in the God you may or may not believe in goes a long way as well. No atheists in foxholes, so they tell me. Those that lived to tell the tale, that is. And I guess they are the ones that really count.

It's good to be rooted. To have roots. But we only live a certain amount of time. Our friends, our family, our community let us down. We keep up our end of 'the bargain' but them? Not so much.

And if it all comes to naught, so what? What did you lose?

I'm pretty sure you are just half-joking about this.

But the fact I also think you are half-serious is what's worrying.

Not from a personal perspective. I don't know you.

But just because anyone who was fairly well-adjusted (and I think most of us that 'know' you here would say that you are), well, it's a bit disturbing. But such are these days and interesting times.

We've all got a bit longer to go yet. And even if the revolution won't be televised, we can live in hope that it may be documented on the farms. But I wouldn't hold out great hope for that either.

I'd love nothing better than to see the unwashed masses rise up and hack at and eat the very rich. All from the comfort of my beer belly resting its medium grade alcohol beer can on top of. Throw in some cheetos or doritos, and I'm Golden! But something tells me it won't play out like that, and by the time it gets to that point...

Interesting times, should you live in.

Love them, not so much.

You'll be alright ya little flid!

And if it really does come down to it, you'll go down fighting, and in worst case scenario, you get bested, well, you'll take that with good grace as well, with a spit in the eye to the guy that is just about to hack you down.

We all know fear. Even the strongest of us men. I wouldn't count myself as one of them. But just saying.

But some of us know contempt, know disgust; and that's a lot harder of an emotion to contain. You strike me as someone that has a pretty advanced internal concept of that: contempt, disgust. They are very important instincts to have. We can all be brave when the time is right. But when the realisation dawns that this is your time? Not so much.

We are only human (some of us). We can only do what we can do. Be brave where we can. Be clever where we can. And hope that we have that last bit of spit to give to the eye, even when we are beat. Whatever.

By that point it is all lost. And for now we have the present, and that is why a fighting spirit is imperative to going forward and winning.

And that is what you have in spades my little @Fliddaroonie.

It can't be bought, it can't be faked. You either have it or you don't. But you can summon it from deep inside, when inspired. And there aren't enough people worldwide that have this 'thing' - Our Thing - Cosa Nostra - and that is why we are in the mess we are in now. Hence your contempt and your disgust, because you know it is these weak fucking cowards that will take you down with them.

Never mind Every Man For Himself.

Never mind Women And Children First.

Just do what is right.

You know it makes sense!

Any guesses as to whether or not the 2021 Flu Season can be used as an offramp for this pandemic?

If they start assigning hospitalizations and deaths under the Flu, they could easily show the Delta wave as being over with.

I personally think the economy cannot hold up under another year of lockdowns, and Dems need good news going into the 2022 midterms.

It's either that, or they double down on the acceleration towards their 'Great Reset' plans.

Some news from the 808, Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, and Governor David Ige have both hinted on lifting some COVID restrictions, but it sounds like pure :optimistic: :optimistic: :optimistic: to me, as I'd expect them to pull an act of Subverting Expectations, as in either making no chances, extending the restrictions even further, or even showing inspiration from the likes of Australia, New Zealand, and Vietnam, by implementing draconian restrictions so harsh that those country's restrictions would look merciful in comparison.
you know, other than vaccine prioritization tulsi gabbard has been completely silent since march 2020...
