Yeah, starving artist don't get such levels of pre-production, so much celebs orbiting the project, and they especially don't get deals with Sugar daddy Amazon for their own cartoon show.

My issue with CR is that, with such level of pre-production, it's likely that they abandoned actually playing DnD in favor of just making up a plot to keep the viewer's interest, because "muh party members". I mean, they are a bunch of actors with one of them having full control over what is happening. It might be possible that at some they all plan ahead what is gonna happen with minor derailments where players act dumb.
I haven't watched much to confirm it, I probably should. Maube someone can confirm my schizo theories or not and save me some time watching VODs.

The most amateur echo of Critical Roll on YouTube or Twitch is time better spent if for no other reason than it is infinitely more earnest than the over produced tabletop equivalent of The Big Bang Theory.

I urgently hope that everyone involved in this is sucking dick for spare change under an overpass within 30 days.

You pretty much have to be able to afford to fire every worker at once, and live in an at-will employment state where you don't need to give a reason for the firing. If you don't have that you need to find a legitimate grievance to fire the employees in the union for in order to avoid a wrongful termination suit. Being part of a union is usually protected by law so you can't be fired just for that.

Passing the first bar is easy since these are some of Paizo's least valuable employees. They can afford to fire them all or have a walkout end with them being replaced. Getting a good excuse to fire them would be harder. Hell, Paizo might just let them do this as long as they never have any real demands.

you know as well as I that it won't stop there, people have been saying for ages the only reason they push for unions is to control even more who gets hired where and apply pressure to the company itself. question is if paizo figures that out before or after they implode.
as for getting fired, if it tanks the quality (inb4 which quality) as it will inevitably the company has to fire them anyway just to stop the bleeding. but since paizo is located in washington which is an at-will state (I think) it shouldn't be that hard, they can just claim cost reduction and outsource it and no one can complain.

It's a losing game with no good way out.
