I'm not advocating for any kind of "white guilt", for Japan or otherwise. In fact, I think it would be stupid for modern day Japanese people to have to apologize for things their leadership did in the 1940's, just like I think it would be stupid for any of us to apologize for slavery. My post was more about the fact that the things Sugiyama claimed didn't happen actually did.

But you're right, apologizing for things other people did is the Resetera way and I'm not on board with that.

Gaming in the middle east prior to playstation was pretty much bootleg stuff, russian copies, and just some really random shit that wound up there by chance. Places like Israel had nicer stuff, Saudi Arabi has a pretty big black market for entertainment since they still ban shit, Iraq and iran are a real gray area since things there more frequently explode.

Basically it was the slavic gaming scene but with sand and didn't really cultivate a fan base of Gopniks who would tear shit down and make it work differently. What happened was with the playstation you got a standard of consistent quality that was readily available.

Internet Cafes in the middle east during the 80's and early 90's were more of a novelty and very rare. Most middle eastern countries don't maintain their infrastructure so shit breaks down. So any type of early internet cafe would more than likely be a regular eatery and maybe the internet worked, maybe not. Most people got their entertainment via satellite because of how badly shit like cable failed to work most of the time due to no upkeep.

Surprised that at so many Marvel "fans" on that forum and directly in that thread that only one person so far has referenced Magneto's actions in the Ultimate line which definitely did push him past any kind of "Moral Event Horizon" as he literally shifted the Earth off its axis murdering billions.

Magneto's whole thing is that he survived an atrocity to only commit atrocities against others in much the same fashion.

The nazis were a tyrannical answer to the the Weimar Republic's own tyranny which devastated the German citizens. Much like how Magneto survived a genocide only to go out and try and genocide others.

By changing the origin they directly change his motivation with the Mutant Brotherhood. Unless they want to make Magneto a Muslim who survived the current and ongoing Chinese concentration camps, but that seems very unlikely.

They were a group of absolute fucking retards who were as much of the same stripe as the ones who originally signed the mutual agreement pacts which lead to world war 1.

You can't say the N-word to black people under their protection, Etika stepped out of line. So it was perfectly fine to go after him while wearing gorilla masks and shouting obscenities. The Weimar Republic was garbage because it echoed all the nonsense of liberal democracy while having nothing resembling constitutional provisions, and a population that had had its fill with the worst of modernity. If you look at its founding documents, they claim to provide all the rights and protections of a real constitutional republic, but Germany had none of the actual institutions needed to protect such rights.

Eurotards like to talk shit about America for being a "young" country but that has not been the case for a long, long time. The United States, disregarding a bit of unpleasantness in the 1860s, has had continuity of government from 1789 to the present, 242 years going on 250. Most of Europe's governments collapse every generation or so. Italy's "government" has collapsed fucking 66 times just since the end of WW II, they just can't keep their shit together.

In any event, the Weimar Republic had all the language of a republic and none of the doing of a republic, nor did the public remotely have faith in it.
