I never got a good vibe from pat. Watching his videos I just never liked him. I know the whole "separate the character from the actor" stuff, but with pat it always felt too real, and like that was how he was off camera. A little douchebag who tries to be funny

you can tell he hodls grudges. on his podcast he'd bring up this kid named kevin that fucked him over or whatever when he was a fat kid

He was also quick to point fingers during the WataGate graded video game scam, yet, nobody is looking at Youtubers who are pretty much scamming their viewers.
Pat always goes after other retro scammers, like the guy who did the Coleco Chameleon, to avoid people looking into his shady stuff.

He's the Don Sargone of the retro game community, with his Retroware clique acting just like the sceptics did around Sargon.

Are porn reviews a thing at all? Are there porn critics out there having cinematographic discussions? Because it god damn should be!
The Cinema Snob does, kind of. He watches porn parodies and posts the unedited versions on Pornhub. The edited versions go on Youtube.

Most are horrifying, even with the fucking taken out.

I only listened to one episode of his podcast, and I distinctly remember him mentioning a girl came to his house before stammering a bit then just started seething over people who still judge him when they see his video game collection. Guess he didn't get laid that night lol

It was one of the most pathetic things I ever heard tbqh.

As cool as it is, if you are expecting a full set NES collection with the boxes to get you laid then it will, but you better be willing to be with a dude. I've never seen a woman get horny over someone's retro video game collection.

The funny thing is now that I'm reading about how much of a slob he apparently is, the game collection probably wasn't even the biggest factor and he's just blaming it.

This is just part 1 of 8, but outside of his NES room, Pat's room from where he previously lived was an absolute garbage dump and something out of hoarders

If you can remember every time another kid was an asshole to you when you were a kid, you weren't bullied enough.

Fucking sucks, but I had a feeling it would only be time before Pat got some mentioning. I haven't watched the guy in a few years, so it's particularly news to me that he became a fucking New Jersey scumwad.

I kinda liked Pat when he came out. His videos were quaint, and I liked that he wasn't trying to ape AVGN when he came out. I also know this sounds kind of nitpicky, but if there was any criticism to have about his early work, it's that I would have liked to have seen some consistency as well as some dignity to his character, but that didn't come. I also would had liked it if he just went the same route as the AVGN and became the Video Game Punk, but I'm sure that train has come and gone.

Yeah, Flea Market Madness was great, I liked that, then he put out his podcast, I liked that for a bit. Then things got.... I dunno, obnoxious. It was funny when he fucked with the Diablo fans, but I think a podcast or two later around that got me to not want to listen to him. Everyone is right, he and Ian vent steam out of their assholes with their podcast now.

Has that fucker put out any new review videos out lately?

So I don't get why he gets modern praise as being the reason AVGN was good. James and Mike balanced each other accordingly during their first decade.
I think there's just a fair amount of people that underestimated how much legwork Mike actually did for the show and only really saw him as the Brown Bricks guy that James had to tard-wrangle.

Loved the updated bio on James' IMDb:
In 2021, James Rolfe worked on and plagiarized multiple reviews for his annual Monster Madness series. The most outrageous of these was the first review for 28 Days Later... which copied word for word a review written by Cecilia Sayad for Film Comment in 2003. He also plagiarized from ScreenAge Wasteland's review of Bad Taste and reworked many Wikipedia articles into other videos (a technique known as patchwork writing, not explicitly plagiarism).

Rolfe eventually responded to these despicable actions four days later in an unlisted video on his secondary YouTube channel and offered an apology- while also placing blame on an unnamed employee. The implication is that he was blaming Newt Wallen for the acts of plagiarism, however their company's initial response has muddied the facts: earlier explanations from producer Justin Silverman claimed the script was written by Rolfe and was 10 years in the making.

Other acts of Plagiarism surrounding Rolfe's Cinemassacre resurfaced following this, including parts of AVGN episodes being plagiarized as well as the cover artwork for his AVGN Series: BFG Blu-ray being stolen from fan art.

I'm just kind of amazed what people get away with on IMDB. Probably 25% of my submissions get rejected there and I'm doing legit serious work.
I've been a user on IMDb for almost 20 years and I have to say that the site just gets worse and worse as time goes on. Biggest nail was doing away with the forums.

also, not to mention that contrary to popular belief, Mike is not James' neighbor. Mike has to travel between states to James house.

So, I guess Mike got tired of traveling many times to James house over the course of 10 years to wrangle his autistic ass, and Rex Viper was the last straw

Yeah, I wasn't surprised that it caused the Truther subreddit to investigate plagerism in his other videos. Justin definitely browses around, and he's probably been here too. This is all just proof that Cinemassacre is on auto-pilot and Mike probably got dishearten by James' lack of passion and the control Screenwave was exerting over the creative process, which led to this disaster. If Screenwave really gave a shit about James they'd help him with his film making career, getting him financing or better equipment, instead of wasting money on a lame video game themed rock group where fat, greasy middle aged men sing about Megaman. Maybe James just never had the drive to get what he wanted, maybe his wife held him back, or maybe Screenwave forces him to do AVGN because it makes them the most money. Whatever it is, it's parasitic and Cinemassacre is going to die when the videos stop hitting a million views which is very likely going to happen in the next year or two if things keep going the way they are. Either James gets off his ass and does something, (cancel or improve AVGN, make a movie, whatever) or give it up, get a new job and raise his children if it's really that time consuming that he can't manage the quality of his work.
