Actually, there used to be a guy who posted up reviews on some pay per view site back in the day who was hilarious.

Never watched the porn, but would read the guys reviews. They were so creepy cringe you could tell that was what he was trying to do.

That said, I think it's that same autism that grants him an undying passion for games and AVGN-like comedy. James, much like his contemporary Doug Walker, had the fire die at one point and wanted to pursue other ventures, like directing, only to realize they suck at it. Their webshows are their lightning-in-a-bottle and meal ticket lest they want to bag groceries or work retail... and I think they sorta resent their fame in a way as it locked them into doing something they no longer enjoy (don't kid yourself into thinking they still love being screaming cartoons from a bygone age).

I'm not as familiar with Mike's history as others in the thread but from what I've seen his outbursts always seemed more natural - he'd randomly sperg out over shit that doesn't matter, but people who follow ecelebs are mostly used to that and a lot of the fans probably just tuned it out mentally. The Screenwave shit is harder to ignore; it feels too corporate and is sanitising the content people subscribed for.

I followed pat when he was just like any other retro game reviewer on YouTube and I used to love his flea market videos, but oh dear god that podcast was a mistake like most times a YouTuber decides to make a podcast like super mega and H3H3
That podcast was the very moment everything got worse, less content was posted, bad opinions everywhere, and then all that shit that was mentioned happened so I stopped watching early on before he started scamming people

I was looking at RLM and they are kinda smart about content they put mr plinket on the back burner. They made about 3 or 4 video series and the come up with some one off gimick videos like the john carpenter stuff.

The rental reviews coulda been a good if they just ripped off reView where its james and one other person doing 20-30 minutes gushing about a movie they like.

As people say james has built up alot of good will. If he said something to the effect that he keeps his family side private, and has obligations to it. people would understand. Its the no time while learning to play the guitar for a shitty band.

Actually, the Jim Cornette podcast is excellent if you are into pro wrestling just for the stories and Cornette zingers.

The thing with Pat Contri is he’s nothing but some shlep who paid a ton of money for a Nintendo cart who knows nothing about video games other then he’s played them, which is basically just like every other person who’s played video games.

He’s a narcissistic slob who lives in a filthy home, who created videos that offered nothing better then what James was doing and were a few notches below James in quality and content. There isn’t a single person who rode on James asscheeks with their face deeper in the crack then Contri.

He has this entitlement that other you tubers need his permission to attack him. When that one guy, quartering went after him, Contri Doxxed him.

And another thing, Contri does these charity streams for children’s hospitals every year. Somebody looked into it, and none of these hospitals acknowledge these donation numbers Contri brags about. It’s sketchy

And honestly, his best content was calling the Diablo fans babies. It was the only thing that put him on the map.

I dont know....i think podcasts suit him better than that retarded show he did. Pat got some interesting knowledge about the retro collecting world and he works best when he is himself (allthough he is faaaar from perfect). His scripts with that Pat the nes punk show were absolute shit and was often as cringe and shit as channel awesomes worst spergs. He has a shit sense of humour.

I think podcasts was the right move for him.

That annual charity 24hour stream is fucking awful though. I usually enjoy marathon streams like that. But he got NO fucking energy. NONE and it NEVER works with those damn 24 hour streams. Fucker sleeps (cheats) yet STILL he is so dead tired when he returns its just dead air after the first few hours and all his guests and Ian is just the same.
