Crowd is pretty dead though. Which maybe that's just how concerts are at these cons, idk.
But I can only imagine crowds like that are the metal band's worse nightmare. If no one shows up, you could justify it in your head by saying "if they were here, they'd be going wild". But when the crowd is like this? It makes the performance seem way over the top and underwhelming at the same time somehow.
I went to the Brentalfloss concert back at Too Many Games 2013, and while I don't remember it too well, I know the crowd was really into it, plenty of laughter, bigger fans who had memorized the lyrics shouting them out, tons of solicited and unsolicited engagement with the audience. It wasn't metal concert wild, but it wasn't really supposed to be. I even found some videos people recorded of the event that back up my memories of it
By comparison, the Rex Viper concert feels totally dead despite the audience being way bigger.

Yeah, that's kinda what I mean. They had a good draw, but people just didn't seem all that excited or animated.
It felt less like people were there because they love Rex Viper and more like they stopped by because they could. Which I'm sure happens all the time at convention concerts, but still...

I got to say, James was always surrounded by the cows and cowlikes (Handsome Tom and Stuttering Craig, Channel Awesome, Mike Matei and now these clowns) and none managed to drag him to the autism levels of Cowdom. And he was making content way, way, way back and is still going strong. He also started a family and is living his dream, without making any drama by himself. I'm impressed.

James has a subreddit with more than 10k subscribers obsessed over him and a 129-page thread on fucking Kiwifarms. Sure, dude is avoiding drama like a champ.

And he was making content way, way, way back and is still going strong.
His SocialBlade strongly disagrees with you

Craig and Tom are cowlike? How come?

If Rex Viper didn’t include Justin in every video just waddling about in the background and occasionally miming I dont think they’d get a tenth of the shit they are now. It would just be kind of cheesy but loveable side project with guys who have a bit of talent and a relatable face to gain attention. As it is he just exists as an inescapable reminder of what’s been dragging Cinemassacre down for years

He manages all their PR, yet has no idea how much his own presence fucks up every thing they try to do.

Why is James the face of this band when he’s just a rhythm guitarist and there’s like four other dudes whom have no pictures associated with the group. Why would anyone want to be associated with it when you have no image or name associated with it?

I mean besides the fact that it’s an embarrassing video game themed cover band
Not a bad point. It made me wonder if this embarrassing thing actually took off, like if they had some real creativity and talent who gets the panties thrown at them on the stage? What do the others gain from playing into james' seeming early mid life crisis?

More proof of bots.

And it looks like the guy who plagiarized for the Monster Madness videos was fired but they're calling it a "mental health break" to save face.

The remaining question is, why the fuck Screenwave so invested in Cinemassacre? I mean I know Screenwave handles other youtubers but they have been so minimal like Tipster, Whang and iirc ProJared

Why is Screenwave do so much helping with Cinemassacre?
They're failed content creators themselves who are now trying to relive their "glory" days by proxy?

Jimmy has no friends anymore after he financially screwed his old ones so he's trying to bond with his employees now?

They're all losers looong past their prime who flock together?

Maybe they're just cheaper than most or have a better split with the profits then other companies James could use? Maybe because he's known Justin for years he has more faith in them? Or maybe James just doesn't care? One thing is certain: Screenwave needs him more than he needs them.

Personally I think James just does not care about anything except the money and Screenwave indulges him.
