A good descriptor I've seen for the Red Scare hosts is that they're two bitchy mean girls with an edgy, left-y sense of humor. I've met listeners who say that they enjoy it because it reminds them of sitting at the high school cafeteria table with the popular girls who talk shit about everyone (never mind that both the hosts are ugly irl and use the podcast to project their insecurities onto political happenings that 90% of Americans have never heard of, but whatever). If you're the type that gets annoyed by "everyone is valid" Twitter, then Red Scare can be a nice break from the SJW hug box, which is why I'd imagine Contrapoints listens/listened to it.
