Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Psaki is on her way out and almost at the end of her term as press secretary. She's definitely hit the point of "I am so done with this job" and is just riding out the last months till she leaves.
What reason did she gave?
How would you rate her performance as WH Press Secretary?

I agree. Who would you say performed better, McEnany or Psaki?

Too different to judge. McEnany's purpose was to go on the offensive, to attack a hostile press. Psaki is purely defensive, her only real goal being to just tamp down the fire and divert attention.

Very different engagements, agreed...although, I tend to lean toward McEnany having a tougher fight as the press was pretty brutal with her.
I like McEnany more. Which is obvious because the media were just offer to her. Psaki as much I dislike her she did her job well. The fact that she was still bullshiting even during the whole alfghanistan mess was some what impressive.
So is Steve Brannon really in trouble here or is this all smoke and mirrors?
So THAT‘S how he came up with „beat the devil out of it“. To be clear I totally could believe it, someone like Rob been a Drill Sergeant it must have grounded his views on behavior and attitude way more than any liberal college could have done.
Explains why he was so calm for the rest of his life.
Does this plan go to congress? If show I hope the Republicans filibuster this shit.

White House details plans to vaccinate 28 million children age 5-11

Children age 5 to 11 will soon be able to get a COVID-19 shot at their pediatrician's office, local pharmacy and potentially even their school, the White House said Wednesday as it detailed plans for the expected authorization of the Pfizer shot for younger children in a matter of weeks.

Federal regulators will meet over the next two weeks to weigh the benefits of giving shots to kids, after lengthy studies meant to ensure the safety of the vaccines.

Within hours of formal approval, expected after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory meeting scheduled for Nov. 2-3, doses will begin shipping to providers across the country, along with smaller needles necessary for injecting young kids, and within days will be ready to go into the arms of kids on a wide scale.

The Biden administration notes the nationwide campaign to extend the protection of vaccination to the school-going cohort will not look like the start of the country's vaccine rollout 10 months ago, when scarcity of doses and capacity issues meant a painstaking wait for many Americans. The country now has ample supplies of the Pfizer shot to vaccinate the roughly 28 million kids who will soon be eligible, White House officials said, and have been working for months to ensure widespread availability of shots once approved.

More than 25,000 pediatricians and primary care providers have already signed on to administer COVID-19 vaccine shots to kids, the White House said, in addition to the tens of thousands of retail pharmacies that are already administering shots to adults. Hundreds of school- and community-based clinics will also be funded and supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help speed putting shots into arms.

The White House is also preparing to mobilize a stepped-up campaign to educate parents and kids about the safety of the shots and the ease of getting them. As has been the case for adult vaccinations, the administration believes trusted messengers - educators, doctors, and community leaders - will be vital to encouraging vaccinations.

While children are at lower risk than older people of having serious side effects from COVID-19, those serious consequences do occur – and officials note that vaccination both dramatically reduces those chances and will reduce the spread of the more transmissible delta variant in communities, contributing to the nation's broader recovery from the pandemic.

The administration notes that kids who get their first shot within a couple weeks of the expected approval in early November will be fully vaccinated by Christmas.

The U.S. has purchased 65 million doses of the Pfizer pediatric shot - expected to be one third the dosage for adults and adolescents - according to officials. They will ship in smaller packages of about 100 doses each, so that more providers can deliver them, and they can be stored for up to 10 weeks at standard refrigeration temperatures.

About 219 million Americans aged 12 and up, or 66% of the total population, have received a COVID-19 shot and nearly 190 million are fully vaccinated.

I notice a separation between what the admin claims and reality. The "Federal regulators" would be the FDA, who need to sign off on this despite already refusing to sign off on boosters.

I'd not wager a bet, but there is not a small possibility they say no.

Here is a link to the video interviews and transcripts for both candidates, below is how abrupt Mcauliffe tries to end it and blame the reporter

McAuliffe Staffer: “Alright Nick we are already over time.”

Terry McAuliffe: “Alright, we are over. That’s it. That’s it. Hey I gave you extra time. C’mon man. You should have asked better questions early on. You should have asked questions your viewers care about.”

Nick Minock: “Well, we did.”

Simple, by them kinda imploding... Ironically, it's not really anything the right is doing that makes it possible to unseat them. It's the fact they overreached, with no mandate, and a coalition best described as "Fractious". They are actively imploding and have no way to fend off or fortify against an assault.
It's easy to get mad at what seems to be an inert GOP but them not doing anything is the wisest play here. If the Dems decide to stop doubling down on their stupidity then the GOP might have to act, but all signs point to them tripling and quadrupling down, hastening their own demise.
Sorta, kinda...here:

Poso posted yesterday or the day before that "Team K" planted this story, whatever that means.

Biden violated that mandate the night of his very first address (the Covid update or whatever they were calling it) where he leaned forward and told the American people to "put their faith in the government." Lol. After the speech he walked away and left his mask on the podium. They're all taking antivirals and have access to therapeutics they're denying the American people, plus they know masks don't work. I'm surprised more of them haven't been caught.
Hope she lands a way better job. I feel she deserves it after all the shit Biden has forced her to scoop up.
She's hook, line, and sinker for this admin's policies and I doubt she'll get what she truly deserves. I disagree with @Gehenna that she's done a good job as press secretary, unless that means coming across as a big wanker like everyone else in DC right now. Then she's doing an exceptional job. Her biggest challenge in the press pool is controlled opposition Doocey, and he never presses her on anything beyond doing the bare minimum to pretend to be hard hitting. I'd go as far as to say she makes things worse because she comes across as entitled and defensive whenever she has to spin bad policy. For example, responding to trillion dollar spending as costing zero to the American people. Her answer is basically "because I said so". Just low effort all around.

The point of contention is what amount of it is really her fault. You use the example of the cost of the bill... but really, what else -can- she say? It won't cost zero, but word from her superiors says it will. She cannot contradict that, but neither can she explain it because it's nonsense. Left with no other option to explain even to the most basic of questioning, she is really only left with one choice.

Obfuscate and distract.

This has been her option the entire time, and really her only one.

And the best way to do both is to... well, "[come] across as a big wanker like everyone else in DC right now", or more specifically the last option of a Press Secretary if no other ways to spin, elucidate, or control the narrative appear... is to be the biggest bitch/bastard in the room and focus fire on themselves.

I'm in complete agreement that all the Republican counties should refuse to release their vote totals until Fairfax reports their final numbers.
I mean, it’s nice that they came out and said it two weeks before the election, instead of just… doing it on election night.

Now, it’s solidly on the other counties if they don’t do something about it.

Gonna be a lot of dead kids by Christmas, but at least they won't have to face lowered expectations for Christmas toys!

This just in: the Left still cannot meme or be remotely funny!
And this is not just a popular saying, either- it’s truth. When you spend your life consumed over worry re: microaggressions and being “offensive” to others to the point of misspelling words (latinx, folx, etc.), that really (self-)limits your capacity to be funny. Because comedy, very frequently, is about being daring and pushing the envelope. That’s what makes it fun and interesting. Oftentimes, it’s the most talented of comedians who do this best (Pryor, Carlin, Chappelle, CK). That’s why material that’s unapologetically brash gets people talking, and woke comedy tends to be relegated to local “comedy collectives” and usually sees the light of day when a Gadsby-esque hack is occasionally given a Netflix special for diversity reasons.

I agree that the impetus is on the red counties to fight back at that point.

Fairfax Board of Elections officials also had a Covid-19 outbreak on Monday during early elections, causing many of their staff to have to leave and get tested, which also delayed those early votes.

Gov. Hochul: New York committed to providing billions of dollars to school districts in the state

Long Islanders are hopeful they’ll soon be paying less in school taxes thanks to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s announcement that the state is committed to paying billions of dollars in what is being called Foundation Aid to districts across New York.

The legal fight over Foundation Aid goes back to the early 1980s with school districts arguing New York wasn’t paying its fair share and that the burden fell on local taxpayers.

“This has been a long struggle,” says Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association Executive Director Lorraine Deller.
Deller says the next hurdle to overcome is revamping the formula used to allocate the money.

“The recognition that costs are higher for schools down here is the key thing for the formula itself to recognize,” Deller says. “Without that we will not see an equitable distribution.”

Around $20 billion is expected to be given out to districts over the next three years.

The Brentwood School District says the money is sorely needed and will be used to hire staff and add to student programs.

“It’s just speculation here, but it could be anywhere between $45 million to $50 million per year for the next three years,” says Brentwood Schools Superintendent Richard Loeschner.

It will be up to state legislators to decide on a formula to divvy up the money.

The extra state money is in addition to millions of dollars in federal relief money that is supposed to be coming.

Gov. Hochul announces plans to increase capacity, enhance safety of the LIE

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday that construction of several projects has started to enhance safety and ease congestion along the Long Island Expressway.

One of the projects, worth $19.7 million, will add three auxiliary lanes between 48th Street and Little Neck Parkway in Queens, improving traffic flow and allowing motorists additional space to exit and enter the highway. The other additional projects, which estimate over $80 million, are to begin later in the fall and will replace approximately 287 lane miles of pavement on key stretches of the Long Island Expressway in Suffolk County.

"Investment in our state's transportation infrastructure is critical for the continued expansion of a thriving economy," Hochul said in a press release. "These much-needed upgrades will ease congestion and enhance safety along one of the most heavily utilized vehicle corridors in New York State."

A big benefit of the Queens development is exit and entrance ramps will be extended by approximately 370 feet. Some of the other safety enhancements include the addition of traffic impact attenuators (crash cushions) designed to reduce collision damage to structures, and the installation of new guide rails or concrete barriers with reflective markers at each new acceleration, deceleration, and auxiliary lane location.

"The overall safety of our streets and the modernization of our aging transportation infrastructure go hand-in-hand,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. “This critical project will address both, and Queens is grateful for the state's sizable investment in the much-needed revamping of the Long Island Expressway. We look forward to ensuring a safer, smoother ride for those who drive."

Three overhead sign structures at the westbound Long Island Expressway will also be replaced — Exit 22B (College Point Boulevard), Exit 23 (Main Street), and on the eastbound side at Exit 24 (Kissena Boulevard).

"The safety of the traveling public is our top priority at the New York State Department of Transportation and these projects will help facilitate safe travel on this critical artery,” said Marie Therese Dominguez, commissioner of the State Department of Transportation.

“New York State is committed to building back our infrastructure to create a more resilient transportation network that meets the demands of the 21st century and allows our communities to flourish."

It's too bad that all state secession movements are either a literal joke or have like 5 supporters, because Upstate would significantly benefit from becoming the 51st state.

Shit, now that I think of it, wtf happened with the whole Puerto Rico statehood thing? Weren't a bunch of Dems pushing for a new referendum or something? It's just been completely gone from everyone's minds.
