Dumb Shit on Wikipedia

Pretty much every literal who (To foreign eyes) general or political figures from Russia, Germany, and a number of other states has a similar article like this where the native language one will be a short blurb while the English one will be more or less a diatribe about how vile they were for fighting colonial wars or some shit.

No, Wikipedia, it's worse - it's a popup that appears every time you click a new article or even refresh the page.

They don't even pretend that they need the money anymore like they used to. It's just 'donate to us' for unspecified reasons (ie line Jimbo and his gang of leftist trannies' pockets).
Wikipedia will never stop e-begging. I wonder how much they actually make from tards donating to them.

They used to feign like the servers were about to be shut down UNLESS YOU DONATED THIS MINUTE, I remember the old ED had some examples of this saved. Some MSM journo did some background checking and it turned out that their traffic and server costs were well covered year after year.

But the e-begging in the last year or so has gotten out of hand, it seems like I am always being harassed by a giant banner, some faggy popup, or some other guilt trip so history distorters can continue to do their 'work'.

Phil's e-begging is less shameless. At least he gives half-assed excuses, Wikipedia just asks for your money while letting blatantly partisan bullshit run wild on their site. I also remember those old "We will be shut down in a minute if we don't get funds" begs they did. Do they have some lawsuit no ones allowed to be released or something?

I never looked at the article for this guy, because Wikipedia badly misrepresents everything related to Russiagate, but this reads like a fucking defense brief:

During a 2018 congressional deposition, Baker stated, "I don’t remember [Sussmann] specifically saying that he was acting on behalf of a particular client," though the Durham investigation found handwritten notes taken by assistant director of the FBI Counterintelligence Division Bill Priestap which paraphrase Baker telling him after the meeting that Sussmann "said not doing this for any client." The notes also say "Represents DNC, Clinton Foundation, etc.," though they did not say Sussmann told Baker this during the meeting; Baker had also said during his deposition that he was generally familiar with Sussmann's work, as they were friends. The Priestap notes constitute hearsay and it was not clear if they would be admissible in court as evidence under the hearsay rule.[7][8]

The New York Times reported Durham had records showing Sussmann had billed the Clinton campaign for certain hours he spent working on the Alfa-Bank matter. His attorneys said he did so because he needed to demonstrate internally that he was engaged in billable work, though the work involved consulting with fellow partner Marc Elias, and the campaign paid a flat monthly fee to Perkins Coie but was not actually charged for those billed hours

The main sources for this are op-eds from a non-lawyer Benjamin Wittes who (fraudulently) allows people to think hes a lawyer because of the website he writes for has the name 'Lawfare'. It's factually inaccurate on 2 points - 1, FBI notes are not considered hearsay (despite Wikipedia matter-of-factly stating that they are), they have fallen under the same category as legal notes by attorneys (such as White House Legal Counsel), and 2. Sussmann made the same false statements to the CIA.

Oh the talk page is even better. This is in response to someone who was using the National Review commentator Andrew McCarthy as a counterbalance to the comments from the (non-lawyer) Wittes:

IIRC, McCarthy is prone to push conspiracy theories, and anyone who defends a pathological liar is suspect as a source. Therefore we should be cautious. -- Valjean (talk) 01:05, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

"Thou shalt not defend Trump" I should note that McCarthy (wrongly) supported Trump's 2nd Impeachment, so hardly unconditionally pro-Trump. I can't think of any 'conspiracy theories' he proposed, and if anything he's too deferring to US attorney's offices.

One other person commenting on the talk page:

Article has now been re-written. Good job, somebody. Appears thorough and balanced (the article, not the pursuit of Sussmann, which is a travesty and ought to be Presidentially pardoned into oblivion). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.206.87.210 (talk) 09:04, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

He lied to the FBI (and CIA). That isn't some bogus political charge, he wasted law enforcement's time. That's the kind of crime that should be prosecuted, if anything, to save resources and tax payer dollars from chasing down fake evidence.

Why the fuck should anyone donate to a fascist propaganda site that solely exists to fuck over humanity?

don't want to look but do these retards take that fanfic written by a British spy Clinton paid for as absolute truth and not disinformation, a word they use to slander any unorthodox view?
that's kinda cute, actually.
Cute but autisitic as no other national lyrics far as I know have that.

How the fuck do you think this is a fix to a non-issue?

One of the strangest lists on people who speak a notable accent I've ever seen. Who rates an accent like this? Oh wait, some sperg just quoted the sourced articles verbatim presumably.

The globally banned user Icewhiz was almost made an administrator under the sockpuppet Eostrix before being caught and blocked. The reaction from the fallout is huge. This has the potential to change how the administrator system works on Wikipedia, as now every administrator candidate will be suspect.

Can you give a backstory on 'IceWhiz'? I haven't followed some of the administrators as much as I should have, and I have never heard the name before, or at least, don't remember it.

I found this totally by accident looking at the article for the (largely mythological) Business Plot, was tempted to put it in the TDS thread, which I haven't look at in awhile:

Yes, the '2020 USA coup attempt' is exactly what you guessed it is, it leads to 'attempts to overturn the 2020 election', by means of lawfare, a strange means for a 'coup'.

The hysterics are absolutely off the wall over Trump. There isn't a hyperbolic take that doesn't get the full Wikipedia treatment.

Ah yes the Business Plot. Smedley Butler's wet dream that would make him a even bigger hero and is almost 100% bullshit he made up. Dumbest didn't even attempt to name names knowing that slander would ruin his reputation.

In today's society however he would be given more commendations than Milley and the entire DoJ to assist in arresting the people he might accuse.

He would be calling for the head Milley and a label him as a traitor and he was right

Here is something Wikipedia related from the North Korean propagandist wannabe Bill Palmer aka the guy who runs the far left fake news outlet the Palmer Report who still bitching and moaning about Wikipedia
some snippets
“It’s become enough of an epidemic that the trolls who have been holding Palmer Report’s Wikipedia page hostage have added the words “liberal fake news website” to the very first sentence of the page.

Even as we navigate the lengthy and difficult legal process of forcing an international entity like Wikipedia to correct the Palmer Report page, various competing news outlets have used it as an excuse to falsely accuse us of being “fake news.….
but then casually referred to us a “liberal fake news website.”

Once we contacted the Forbes author and demanded an apology and retraction, he immediately removed the “fake news” reference from his article, and he indeed posted a public apology. This is to his credit. Whatever went so embarrassingly wrong within Forbes’ editorial process that this false accusation against us (copy-pasted from Wikipedia no less) was allowed to make it onto the Forbes website, at least they had the integrity to promptly atone for it.”
this read like a piece from a North Korean news outlet and shows this guy Lives in Fantasy world and this is the guy who tried to hijack the page about himself and try to deleted during the summer of 2021

It actually is, but only certain topics. Generally, the least political or controversial topics are gonna be fairly accurate and informative. Nobody's going to scream about how it's problematic to say a battleship from the 1890s had so many mm's of steel plating in its specs or how a species of fish migrates.
Nah, there's almost always at least one autistic shithead camping practically any given article on Wikipedia that'll sperg out on you if you touch "his" page. Also, remember that to these modern-day 1984 enforcers everything is political. Absolutely everything. And they mean it. They'll find a way to take any benign article on any banal subject and link it to Trump's obvious Nazi ties. Right after they finish their latest fancy Starbucks latte.

I sometimes wonder if the ADL and similar groups will ever not cry antisemitism
kek nope. The ADL literally exists solely to attack and destroy enemies by pointing at them and shrieking "antisemitism!" as loudly as possible. It's the only move in their playbook. Well that and buying (or replacing) every fucking politician they possibly can at all levels of government.

I have noticed this more and more spilling into real life, however. I remember reading a description of a wanted suspect in France that it was left vague what race they were, you would assume it was a dark haired French man with brown eyes they were seeking, but it was actually an African immigrant.
It's very well understood these days that the only time any news outlet will (accurately) report on the race of a suspect in a timely fashion is when the suspect is allegedly white. It's even got a name: "Coulter's Law" which states: "The longer we go without being told the race of the shooters, the less likely it is to be white men." Ann Coulter originally said this regarding news coverage of mass shootings, but it's turned out to be pretty prescient in general as well.

The media will absolutely never admit authorities are looking for a non-white suspect until they're essentially forced to by the authorities themselves distributing wanted posters and press releases.

Why is that dumbass's blog even notable in the first place? All this spilled ink over a non-noteable shithead on Twitter.
I legit have no idea since the first time he noticed his page he tried to erase it and then had a spergout on Twitter if I recall correctly think of him (yes a guy runs the site and the account) as the far left Version of Chris Chan if he didn’t troon out but instead became a more mental unhealthy man who likes to get into feuds with people and acts like Donald Trump
