US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I kind of want to feel sympathy for him because it's clear his dementia is worsening, but then I remember that he's been an absolute cocksucker for the last fifty years when it comes to politics and then all I can do is get MATI and say "Good, I hope you feel every neuron dying as your brain turns to campbells soup, you cunt."
I feel even less sympathy than this for him. Remember when he was out campaigning and he was all juiced up happy? Not at all the look of a man who is being held hostage. The man's such a scumfuck, prestige-grabbing, ladder-climbing politician I fully believe he was willing to sacrifice what few years of his sanity remained to him just so he could sit in the big boy chair as POTUS, and damn the consequences to anyone or anything else.

There are countless public health laws, so there is evidently a right not to be exposed to disease-causing agents, within certain parameters. For example, I can sue a restaurant if their negligence gave me food poisoning. They could also be fined or shut down for being unsanitary. A number of states have criminal laws to reduce the spread of HIV. For a more extreme example, the government could quarantine you for life if you had typhoid fever (which is no black death) and insisted on spreading it to other people.

SARS-CoV-2 might not fit into those schemata, yet, but there is no absolute right to be a plague carrier and make the people around you sick.
So, can I sue NYC if I get Leptospirosis? Because despite being awash in Biden cash NYC's sanitation and garbage pick up has been reduced and we now have an outbreak which has already killed one person. It's spread by rats, who are experiencing a population explosion because of all that yummy garbage.

But I'm sure its racist to demand trash removal, or something.

The Soviets could track every sub and blow it up before it could deploy missiles.
Gonna disagree with ya here big time. Why? I was a Cold War ASW sailor (AX rating, to be exact). If anything, what you said is exactly the opposite. The Russian boomers, if they could actually get out of port, were tracked via SOSUS and we had tabs on them anywhere they went. They were so noisy we knew each one by name and their database signatures. And we'd fuck with them regularly by dropping sounding charges on them just to let them know we were there. Much fuckery, lots of laughs. The Russians never had any decent ASW capabilities and still don't. It's part of why all their shit rusted apart in port are the end of the Cold War.

Hunt for Red October was a Tom Clancy novel, not reality. I lived it for close to 20 years.

I think yoy miss the above user's point?

Update on the Texas abortion case: as the Supreme Court previously indicated, they will be hearing arguments for both cases against it - one of them being filed by the Justice Department, the other by abortion providers - on November 1st. What they'll be determining is not the legality of the law, but if the federal government has the right to sue Texas and prevent the
Biden's admin, meanwhile, is doing some saber-rattling warning that if the Court rules in favor of Texas “no decision of this Court is safe. States need not comply with, or even challenge, precedents with which they disagree. They may simply outlaw the exercise of whatever rights they disfavor,”.
The whole hypersonics thing REEKS of missile/bomber gap.

In the 1950's and 60's Military and congressional lobbying groups made absurd claims about a lack of parity between the US and USSR in nuclear bombers and missiles. it was all a blatant lie for more funding. The US always had superiority in missiles and bombers.
Hypersonic weapons are not new and have been in inventories of the US and Russia for many decades. they are only now considering them for conventional warfare instead of nuclear warfare.

When the US media amplifies these chinese military press releases (and does the opposite for US DOD, often only reporting on failures) it means that some one in congress and the DOD want more money for their projects. for instance did you know the US army has already selected a hypersonic weapon system and will be fielding them in number by 2023? did you know that due to their flight path witch differs greatly from nuclear hypersonic weapons makes them more vulnerable to terminal phase interception?

lately their has been articles and memes about the latest US test which failed but its not likely you heard about the multiple successful tests before.
Yeah, this was always my thought. I don’t even think it’s necessarily funding, it’s more that the US military, despite its issues, is still the strongest in the world, and has more to gain from hiding its true level of technological progress (e.g, by only reporting on failed tests) than it does with open displays of power to attempt to gain dominance.

The US doesn’t need to brag about having a SUPER DUPER COOL new missile to project the idea of “don’t fuck with us”.

Of course with hindsight it's 'obvious' the Soviets themselves had reached terminal stagnation so it's really hard to parse how much of this is the DOD wanting more money for dem weapons programs and how much is a genuine gap in capabilities with the Chinese
Luckily, I think history has gone easy on us this time and is giving us advance warning that the Chinese are about to fall off badly before it actually happens. As for the hypersonic weapons stuff: ever since the First Chechen War pretty much, Russia has based its entire military defense model off of making (or pretending to make) wunderwaffen to scare its neighbors into thinking that the Russian military is technologically advanced. This has worked on at least some people.

In reality, airplanes are falling apart and killing pilots by the dozens, tanks are breaking down in the middle of parades, and conscript soldiers are going postal on their commanders because Russia has the worst institutional hazing culture of any military in the world. Recently an entire Spetsnaz unit was dissolved and its commander was placed on trial because he was accused of sodomizing one of his soldiers.

e: If you want another example: 7 workers were killed in a fire at an ammunition factory in Ryazan yesterday. Russia's military complex is a fucking joke and I suspect China's is similar.

All right, boys and girls. Man the goalposts. It begins…

On one hand, one can hope that this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back and is met with vast condemnation and non-compliance. That with the existing backlash/vaccine hesitancy/its downstream effects, that the absurdity behind this push for de facto booster mandates stirs significantly more normies and fence-sitters to join the side of freedom and make this untenable to enforce. I think there are many pro-vaxx/anti-mandate individuals who happily got jabbed but will refuse to comply with this. Because it finally starts to sink in for them that having their ability to work/eat/pay bills held hostage by a fucking vaccine (that should be a personal choice) really doesn’t feel good and disturbingly resembles the infancy of a life-as-a-subscription social credit system.

On the other hand…

Food poisoning due to negligence isn't contagious. That is a completely retarded comparison.

Um... yeah, gonna agree with Oats. You should go back and re-read JFJ's post carefully, and then if you're still uncertain, check out some of his posts about his experiences in Storm where all of that "junk" deleted one of the world's largest armies in a matter of what, weeks?

Ya kinda missed my point.

also the reason they keep losing elections.
No, the reason they keep losing elections is because they put up fucking Rhinos like McCain and Romney. If The GOP actually stood for anything other than being limp dicked controlled opposition they would win.

Not really. There's lots of military disasters and bad programs. Still are. Littoral combat ships, Zumwalt destroyers, etc. But ASW during the Cold War wasn't one of them.

Guess ya had to be there to truly understand what was what. But history these days is rewritten at will.

His point was those were lies meant to drum up support for more military funding in Congress, and that they were actually very capable systems.

Also from what I recall its wasn't that Russian subs weren't so awesome, it was their payloads, their numbers and the discovery they had orders to nuke the West Coast off the face of the map when WW3 kicked off came as a surprise. Granted, that's the entire point of MAD but remember Gates being a bit shook up about what he learned from his counterparts after the USSR was no more.

Murmansk is still a closed oblast to this day.

Gotcha and understood.

To this very day, the US Military still believes the next best thing technology-wise is the answer to our military capabilities. It's not. And while robot sniper dogs are bad ass, they're not proven in combat. And I hope they never are. Technology will never overcome the will of a people committed to a cause. Ask any sandbox vet missing a limb or two because of an IED. Sheer overwhelming destruction and a will to win matters, which is what we currently lack as a country. You can throw bazillion of dollars at any program, but when you create ROEs that are completely pussified in combat, well? You get us leaving Afghanistan with our tail tucked firmly between our legs.

Sorry if I happened to disrupt the Let's go Brandon thread. Y'all make my life liveable. I'm a vet as are some others here. And I'm pretty disgusted at the direction our military is currently being warped into by the TPTB. Maybe we need to get our asses kicked in a conflict for TPTB to wake the fuck up. I do certainly hope it doesn't happen under Biden because... well, I don't need to go there, do I?

I'm not getting a fucking booster shot!!! How about they jump off a cliff instead

You're talking about the Soviet subs that had fires break out onboard from poor maintenance, correct? I have no idea how a submarine sinks while moored in dock like K-429 did. That's practically India levels of incompetence, and they almost lost a sub because they forgot to close a hatch!
