In the German city of Weimar (you know, the one from the hilariously failed eponymous republic) the clinics will not publish the numbers of fully vaccinated Coofers in their ICUs anymore. Those numbers would "distort reality and play into the hands of Corona-deniers and anti-vaxxers", according to their mayor. Fully vaccinated people would be treated "WITH the Coof, not BECAUSE, and would thus fall into the statistic and distort it".
As if that wasn't the case for almost half of the hospitalized Coof cases since last year.

I dunno but according to the top right part of graph Most disease death rate were plummeting right before the vaccine. Aren't those contribution a little bit overestimated?

A lot of people don't understand the lymphatic system in general. It's usually taught as kind of a throwaway "and also this exists" and more class time is dedicated to the circulatory system. I've never, for example, seen elementary students make models of the lymphatic system with yarn, felt, and glue; but that's a common yearly project for the circulatory system.

I think it's also that people see this as "general health advice" and they don't realize that in this specific case it's more than that, and that the recommendation to do things like eat food high in antioxidants is specifically because you're burning through your existing reserves when you're infected, so adding more to your diet is just bringing you back to your baseline.

I think there's also a side discussion to be had here about the whole mentality of doing things differently when you get sick as opposed to maintaining and adding to what you do normally.

was reading canadian subreddit and saw a comment along the lines "i enjoy the suffering of anti-vaxxers because they usually are the ones not following any protection protocols and are responsible for prolonging this pandemic"

... could it be that government forcefully divides common people so they argue and blame each other, instead of pointing their anger at powers that actually lied and introduced useless rules that fucked everyone up?:stress:

I don't even need to read the linked papers to know what they're about. Two words; synthetic biology. Shit gives me the creeps.

Biomolecular pathways (receptors and their ligands, et cetera) resemble logic circuits in many key ways, with some proteins acting as gates and others as relays and so on. That is to say, you can, in theory, synthesize artificial receptors and ligands that will behave like a Boolean circuit. Do this with sufficient complexity, and you can build an actual computer that runs on biomolecules.
