Adderall will calm you down if you actually have ADHD or some other mental issue. I don't know the science behind it, but if you take it for legitimate reasons, then it does actually mellow you out.

I know what nanowrimo is, I just don't understand half of the tweet because it turns into nonsense words after the word "but".
Basically the issue with adhd brains is the fact that part of their brain is inactive. Their dopamine receptors are super out of wack. This is what causes the attention issues and such because they're seeking dopamine. Adderall is essentially a legal amphetamine that activates that part of the brain and increases the dopamine that you need so people with adhd are more calm. The thing is, she has other things that screw with her dopamine receptors. Depression is definitely one that she has so when she's taking adderall, it gives her a boost of dopamine that helps her depression as well.
However, there's an issue with increased levels of dopamine because they're linked with psychosis. Which also explains her insanity with headmates and magic nonsense.
She definitely doesn't have adhd, however. She's still impulsive and she tweets frequently and she seems to get barely any sleep and she doesn't eat. She's just a junkie.

This is accurate, however I've never seen it make anyone sleepy. Even in legit cases of ADHD you're not supposed to take it in the middle of the night because it's still a stimulant. Alyssa is just a tweaker anyway though.

Un-medicated sober Alyssa would still be batshit insane because she's self medicating with uppers. She has said she uses it to treat intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and depression. Without the adderall, she would have that while also being suicidal.
What she actually needs is a therapist to give her coping strategies that will help her tackle those thoughts and also work through her issues and potentially involuntary confinement to give her a place where they can adjust her medication in a controlled area and get her off adderall.

She really wasn't, not until earlier this year and the run up to DenFur did she really start going off the rails. She's in a classic tweaker downward spiral; before this she was at least semi-functional, but they can only dabble for so long before it causes intrusive thoughts, anxiety, etc.
Alyssa wasn't crazy; she was high-strung, and straight up stimulants like Adderall is absolutely contraindicated. If anything she should've gotten put on something like Seroquel or risperidone (terrible as that shit is), and giving her ritalin would've been playing with fire as well.
The thing is with people who actually need it, is that those meds don't make them feel good.
Dabbling meant she'd already spent a month on a ward back in March (on her own terms supposedly); which is probably when she got hooked up by the county-health doc with a legit regular script for her pills. Before that, she had to rely on infrequent family doctor visits, or shopping them elsewhere when she could afford it.

Ugh, I had the luxury of not even noticing that until now, you bastard. Whenever I post a tweet that has a photo of Alyssa making one of her retard faces I just post it and get it out of my camera roll as fast as humanly possible.
As others have said, yes, Nanowrimo is where you write a 50k (or whatever you want your goal to be) word manuscript in the month of November. She tweeted that on Nov 28 so she’s trying to reach her goal in like 2 days (lmao). Apparently she’s been participating every year and the idea of not being able to finish/participate in it made her “accidentally” double dose. And yes she is making fun of how much she tweets too.
But now that she’s mentioned doing Nanowrimo, I actually want to know what her writing is like. It’s probably incoherent and will inflict physical pain upon all those who consume it, but I’m still kinda curious.
Hopefully she decides to pen this year’s novel about her whirlwind romance with Bonnie and how they overcame and will continue to overcome so many obstacles standing in the way of their love (you know, such as her getting kicked out of the Tranch, her constant siezures, a pesky headmate that doesn’t understand, that waitress that stopped them from fucking in the bathroom, the fact that Bonnie has a husband, etc). It’s a modern day fairy tale, the two mentally ill genderspecials in such a toxic relationship that we can hardly tell who’s more damaging to who!

Mate, I don't think needing a routine checkup with a psychiatrist simply equates to being high strung. She's been going to a psychiatrist for years. She's been crazy for a long time. When she was young, she never cried and she was difficult to manage. Her brain is just warped.

Hey Fat Bon. My brother "fainted" once. Unfortunately, he didnt have an MRI machine in his garage, so all the "self diagnosis" in the world would never have found the problem.
Though I can certainly sympathize with a lack of faith in the medical system. The ER doctor told him it was just basic syncope. It was only his wife's skeptical persistence that got him to a neurologist and into that MRI. Spoiler: it wasnt syncope. Ironically for this thread, sometimes "fainting" is actually a seizure.

Yes, ADHD medicine (speed) does not make people sleepy. It helps stimulate the frontal lobes. This allows the person to control their behavior, concentration ect.

I was going to say it would likely kill her but it might be a mercy at this point. She's brain broken so hard that it's nigh impossible to help her be normal. Even then, rather see her get on something for anxiety that isn't a benzo (but honestly it might help her) - I'm soft and I think her living as long as possible even if she never gets even halfway to sane is better than the alternative.

When actually she's probably mostly healthy (apart from BPD and testosterone damage), comes from an upper middle class family and could have had a normal, successful life if she had been willing to put in one ounce of work and get off Twitter for five goddamn minutes. Isn't it standard for the prescribing doctor to monitor a patient when they're on something like Adderall? I assume Alyssa going from healthy and hygenic to her new look so quickly would raise a red flag and run the risk of (at least) decreasing her dosage, but I'm no medfag.
Do any of you guys know what generally happens when a patient is obviously abusing their meds? Some of the recent posts here have me curious.
Anyway, I was very excited for an "invading army of hostile midget headmates" arc before I realized she was just still sperging out over her cold/coof

According to who, Alyssa? I agree she's been going to psychs for a long time, but her sickness hasn't always existed as it has; it's been progressively made worse by drug abuse. She's just a liar & a tweaker; she doesn't have ADD, headmates, or anything else, and she's been like that since childhood. Otherwise she was "normal".
But her sister was the "special" sickly child and Alyssa was starved early for attention; so she acted out. And her parents did what their type do; they shuffled her off to the standard-issue pediatric headshrinkers who have been blanket diagnosing kids like her for decades as having ADHD. And then whatever biological imbalance she had was massively made worse by stimulants & dope in general.
