Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

This is the reason why I would support DeSantis over Trump.

Trump appears young and active for his age, but in 2025 Trump will still be an obese 78 year old man.

It REALLY hit me how old these fuckers are when Obama had his birthday "controversy". Obama just had his 60th birthday. That means he was 55/56 when he left office. Obama finished his term 23 years younger than Biden started his term.

I mean, Jesus Christ could we PLEASE get some young NON-AOC politicians? DeSantis just turned 43, so he would be 46 on Election Night.
I've been saying for a while now that I'd vote against DeSantis (and plan on registering as a Republican in case it's necessary) to make certain he doesn't get the nom for president. He's every bit the Mitt/Bush/whatever any other establishment GOP politician one can expect him to be, he's just in a precarious governorship and knows that his position of power is precarious.

Him getting the nom and getting into office over Trump would be the death knell of any real populist sentiment and would harm any attempts at bringing the party more in line with the kind of populism Trump brought to it. The guy just isn't what people think he is from his performance in FL as governor - mainly he's not a populist like Trump.

Also I'll never understand this obsession with youth from people when it comes to the presidency. As long as they're in good health and have decent, realistic advisors who can inform them on shit like internet policy and other things they might not understand due to age I don't get the problem.

Because the Presidency is among the most stressful jobs in the world.

They don't have to be 45, but they can't be 80 either. 60 would be fine, but we don't have any decent 60 year olds right now.

I get that, which is why I said in good health. I mean shit man there are 90 y/o people out there who are healthy enough to do marathon running, meanwhile you have people younger than DeSantis who can't run a mile without risking a heart attack.

Age is a general barometer of health. While there are outliers, if you already have office and are fairly young you generally would have access to good healthcare and thus tick the boxes for "unlikely to die in office".

I guess to make the statement more pointedly I wouldn't consider one candidate over the other due to age alone if the old fuck were in good enough condition. Hillary would be an example of someone who while old I don't think is going actively fucking senile like Mr. Pudding Brain we have currently in the office of president.

This is where I generally align as well. Age comes into consideration if the two are otherwise equally healthy. But it's not a strong factor unless there are other circumstances.

CNN is indirectly admitting that Biden goes on vacation more than Trump, Obama and Bush combined.

A CNN analysis of Biden’s public schedule indicates the President has spent a significant amount of time away from the White House, particularly on weekends, since his January inauguration. Including this weekend’s trip to Delaware, Biden has taken 35 personal trips and spent all or part of 108 of his first 276 days in office at one of his Delaware homes or at Camp David in Maryland. That includes partial days, like Friday — when he spent the day at the White House and departed in the evening.

While most presidents have prioritized taking time away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, this is the most time a president has spent away from the White House on personal travel at this point in the presidency in recent history.

"He doesn't do the job that he's supposed to do but who gives a shit, lulz!!!"
I'm going to defend him here. He clearly notes disappointment in that article blurb itself and the role is traditionally very unimportant. So it's very much he who gives a shit, and is more or less acknowledging both realities above. Its hopeful optimism, and not even unfounded. Hoo boy did it age poorly though.

You guys in general just don't understand California. You know how you're all wigged out by how creepy you find Harris? She looks like a bazillion people I know, I know so many women who have her body language and facial expressions.

Big Tech is post-american. Completely. The only thing it has in common with the historical US is the English language.

I agree that they oppose US hegemony, since they want global power for themselves, but they're starting to pick up on how China can't really be appeased forever. They spent years trying to work with China to access their markets, knowing full well that if they didn't serve China's interests, China would just steal their IP and freeze them out. Now, even though they've fed the crocodile the whole time, it's starting to eat them. This is what changes things. They were in denial about Xi and his neo-Maoist nature for nearly a decade, and they hated Trump for rocking the boat, thinking that they still had time to return things back to the old status quo.

Now that Biden is in, and things are heating up rather than cooling down, they're starting to get their heads right. They can't function in a world without US hegemony. There is no reign in hell option. Only suffer in hell or serve in heaven. So they're going to come around on this "death to Amerikkka" tard shit. That's where the Trump Redemption Arc comes in.

The doggo torture is really sticking with people. What I'm more surprised with is how it's not being shifted to Trump because they went so hard in making Fauci and his science buddies the pillars against orange man's destruction it can't spin that way.

New York, NY – Extinction Rebellion and Sunrise Movement activists were arrested for disrupting this morning’s rush hour traffic on FDR Drive and West Side Highway. They vowed to cause further disruption until President Biden takes executive action to fulfill his climate pledge to cut U.S. emissions in half by 2030. The protest lasted for approximately 2.5 hours. The NYPD arrested at least 33 people.

From a tweet put out by Extinction Rebellion NYC this morning: "To the commuters who were inconvenienced by these simultaneous disruptions, we're sorry. We believe civil disruption is necessary to force awareness of the urgent need for climate action by the government. This action follows in the footsteps of many historical movements for change that used non-violent civil disobedience to instigate large-scale political change."

“This is disruption with a purpose since we will all encounter far greater disruption in the future if we don’t radically change our society. Over 70% of Americans are now worried about global warming. So although the public may not agree with our tactics, they certainly agree with our cause. We're sorry for the disruption we have caused for individuals but this is a matter of life and death,” said Greg Bratone, a spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion NYC.

President Biden had vowed to slash US greenhouse gas emissions in half, based on 2005 levels, by 2030. But with his climate agenda at risk of collapse in Congress, realistically achieving the 2030 target becomes much more challenging. The United States should not show up empty-handed at the upcoming 26th United Nations climate conference (COP26), which is widely seen as the last best chance for the world to agree on the steps necessary to avoid climate catastrophe. President Biden has called climate change the existential threat of our time. In order for the United States to be part of the climate solution, Biden must use all the tools at his disposal to ensure the clean electricity provision is included in the Build Back Better Act. The future of our planet is at stake.

Christina See, another spokesperson for the group said, “If the bill gets watered-down, we are witnessing catastrophic government failure. This system is tainted with powerful political and economic interests that prevent change, and the current situation shows how it is incapable of solving the most complex issue known to humanity.”

Today's act of civil disobedience was a collaboration between Extinction Rebellion NYC and Sunrise Movement NYC. Extinction Rebellion NYC stands in solidarity with all of the young people taking action in cities and towns around the country pressuring President Biden at this crucial moment. We are with you!

>when you're so committed to the climate you block roads to push for the bill that the Democrat establishment is trying to get passed

🌈. To do so requires them to become Center-Right or not censor anymore and that's no longer an option for them. Big Tech's hope is that the Dems aren't just a front for the CCP. Which might have been the case if the Clintonites were in charge, but the true believers are the ones that will inherit the DNC.

When you're so concerned about the environment that you cause people to idle their engines for hours.
Hey, it isn't the first time environmentalists did something to purportedly "save" the environment that actually ended up destroying it.
For example:
ferngully_the_last_rainforest_ver2.jpg
once_upon_a_forest.jpg

Making animated movies about how important saving the environment was.....while using paper that came from tons of felled trees to animate said movies. Oops.

No wonder leftists are so incompetent and useless.

They're too busy worrying about the year 2100 that they can't fix anything in the present.

You can't have a future if you don't have a present.
