Reddit's community is designed around complete losers feeling bad about themselves. When they find someone worse off than them they do everything they can to feel superior, which commonly comes out as a-logging.
This is something I've noticed actually, for some reason everyone on Reddit always seems to be perpetually angry and butthurt over nothing. The funny part is that KF is the site with a reputation for being an "evil online bully hate forum" or whatever but the userbase is way more chill in comparison.
