Hasn't Null said he'd preserve the Russ thread at least for someone to start up a new forum and continue right were we left off? I suspect if that happened, that site might not have a no trolling rule, and in fact might encourage it for revenge. If it was run by someone who hosted it in a country not inclined to work with the US authorities, and the admin kept their identity anonymous, Russ wouldn't have anyone to sue. I know I'd be pissed off, and looking for some payback, and I have some scruples. I know there are people who post here, or at least lurk here who are full on sociopaths, and wouldn't hesitate to mete out vengeance on Russ. If he thinks it's bad NOW, wait until he has people breaking into his email accounts, his social media and phone and posting the contents for the world to see. Someone might steal money from his bank account, some might steal his identity and rack up huge debts in his name. He will long for the days when it was just KFers laughing at him from afar. I'm a bit confused by this. It suggests that Russ needs to file a motion in the district court for leave to proceed on appeal in forma pauperis.

Fed. R. App. P. Rule 24(a)(3) states that "A party who was permitted to proceed in forma pauperis in the district-court action[...] may proceed on appeal in forma pauperis without further authorization, unless" the district court "certifies that the appeal is not taken in good faith" or "a statute provides otherwise."

Russ was permitted to proceed in forma pauperis in the district-court action, so he shouldn't need further authorization to proceed on appeal in forma pauperis... correct?

What the fuck is this golfer comparison? He found a past case where a golfer with a bad leg was allowed to ride in a golf cart instead of walking during tournament play. How the fuck is that anything like this? The golfer didn't shank every ball into the lake and then complain that he was disabled and he tried and should win the tournament. He asked for a reasonable accommodation and got it. Russ talks about needing an accommodation in the form of a back-up band, which AGT allows and which Russ paid for and provided for himself so... I'm not even sure why he keeps bringing that up. But in paragraph 100 Russ tries to compare himself to the golfer not in relation to disability accommodation, but that Russ' emotional pain (i.e. narc injury) would be greater than that of a non-disabled contestant because having a disability has made him emotionally sensitive to rejection. So pass me through auditions. The reasonable solution offered by AGT, that he can try out again next year, is not good enough. His feelings are so hurt that it simply has to be illegal.

He has an effective lawyer and they are evidently considering what steps to take in that regard but it'll cost money to do.

Then, when they win, it'll cost money to try and collect. While Greer has assets to recover, they will almost certainly not make up for the costs of getting at them.

In that sense it normally wouldn't be worth doing except that Russ has no skin in the game because he's allowed to keep filing his bullshit until the courts stop him from filing unrestricted IFP suits (they don't like to do this). The only other option (as long as they let him file for free, which they fucking shouldn't because he's spending thousands of dollars on vanity songs) is to go after him for costs afterwards in the hopes that he gets scared off.

What I don't get about courts granting IFP so easily is this.. If you can afford to save up and spend $3000 on a hooker for a few hours, and you can afford to save up and spend $3000 for a band to do your audition, you are able to save up and and spend the $500 filing fee. These people need some skin in the game or there's no risk to themselves. Yet the courts overlook all this stuff? It's not like Russ has kids to claim as dependents like Melinda.
