It will never not be weird to me that there is a whole segment of people who are seemingly nostalgic for GTA Online.
Honestly I will admit I do have a tiny bit of "nostalgia" for the very early days of GTA Online, it was pretty fun for the time I played it for (Oct. 2013 - Apr. 2014), just screwing around with friends in deathmatches and in free roam with infinite money that I got from some random modder who was in my lobby, pretty comfy. Now what I do have lots of nostalgia for is GTAIV online, that was real fun. Bomb Da Base II, constant chaos happening at the airport, that weird glitch that would happen where almost nothing could kill you, so everyone just blew each other up with RPG's and ragdolled everywhere, etc. It was a very basic online mode but I still prefer it over V's imo.

Mafia Work was way better than contact missions in GTA Online, simply because it was the same basic bitch objectives as most contact missions but you didn't have to load anything.

I'll never never NEVER understand why this wasn't the system in GTA Online. I'd rather take random tasks from various contacts than the weird bullshit "stay in a circle for x minutes" and shit like that.

I guess they kind of re-introduced it with the Nightclub update but by then it was too little too late because of all the bullshit flying rocket cars and modders.

Cops and Crooks was my personal favorite. Ultimate competitive GTA style of game.

AI was fair too. If you knew how the mechanics worked in IV, you could get through no problem.

Prison was a close knitted map that fit any playstyle for Deathmatch. Pistols, melee, SMGs, assault rifles.

I might be late, but the remaster/Definitive edition looks really... Weird. It reminds me of Sims 4 with how smooth and simple the textures are. Originally, I was hoping it would just be a port of the trilogy with updated controls, which I was excited for but....Why is everything so saturated and bright, too?
I don't know, now. Maybe I'm too nostalgic but I'm really not sure how to feel about this new look.

It sucks they took off the originals off all the marketplaces.

R* then: making a mission being a potshot aimed to social media and their treachery
R* now: making a game for Zucculus

I don't know what people are expecting from Rockstar anymore? My faith in them started to dwindle in the last few years and now it's completely gone. Went from a R* cultist starting in 2004 (and for good reason, c'mon, R* couldn't be touched for a good decade+ there), to not looking at them so fondly anymore. And the reality is, Houser and Benzies are gone. And no doubt some other key figures from their Golden Age. The soul of the franchise has been ripped out. Juxtapose that to what happened to Infinity Ward and by extension the CoD franchise after Vincent Zampella and Jason West left to chart R*'s inevitable decline from here on out.

We (not so much KF users tbh, but consoomers and GTA forum users and the like) need to just accept they aren't who they once were. GTA 6 will mark the start of the decline. It might still be a good game, but they'll never reach their highest heights ever again.

I'll admit I look fondly back to the days when a Hydra or a Lazer were the only real threats to worry about in a server. Back when you didn't have flying bikes, flying cars or goddamned orbital cannons.

Good God, this guy's the very definition of "uncanny valley," isn't he? What a cringe video.

It's disappointing they didn't lean hard into the cartoon style that all the official art represented. I always thought that was the intended look. Ken Rosenberg in particular looks way off.
You thought wrong then, it's only ever been made to be 'cartoony' to a similar degree GTAV was. Mildly stylised realism, it was never meant to be outright toonshit.

This post screams condescension when you analyze it. Meanwhile, posters like this will stay quiet when you try to question them as to why we need more random GTA Online updates, while we still don’t get any clue as to if they are working on GTA VI.

If I recall, GTA V made light on their parody radio commercials about how China was on the verge of controlling U.S.’s cyber security since the POTUS thought that playing nice would not get them to stop importing Chinese agents to steal classified information.

Now that Joe Biden’s in office, I’m not even sure they‘ll comprehend satire, let alone laugh at it. They’ll get to a point where the satire is basically you being forced to laugh at cheap jokes at someone’s expense.

Maybe have some crazy Chinese citizen who snapped at how his country passed a security Law and he tasks the player with kidnapping random Chinese citizens he suspects of not being patriotic so he can deport them to China believing it will give him social credits and you go through with it.

Too soon?
