YouTube sits on gifted memberships for years compared to Twitch and then when DrLupo and TimtheTatMan come over, YouTube suddenly say yeah we can do that. I'm sure will try to take credit though somehow.
I'm hoping their team of coders find out that they can't do it so they have to scrap the idea and piss Phil off to the point he goes back to Twitch but hey, what do I know? The writers this year have been working their ass off.

You are right. I didn't used to think so, but with how bad his drinking has gotten lately, there's no longer any denying how awful he thinks his life is. He doesn't feel bad about his decisions, but he definitely hates the consequences. He hates that he can't go anywhere without someone recognizing that he's an asshole. If that's true, it has me wondering what in the fuck it would take, then. Unless of course his drinking back in those days was him having fun, not masking his pain. I wouldn't know, haven't watched enough of Young Phil to say for sure, I'm just used to people getting wasted in their 20's out of a lust for life, not hatred of it. Phil's not normal, sure, but still, I have difficulty wrapping my head around the concept of it being miserable for him being with a woman like Leanna that he can parade around, bathing in all that YouTube money, and having no one to reel him in. Everything I've learned about the pigroach suggests that that was paradise for him, so if I'm wrong, then I can't fathom what possibly could be. I know he loved having no responsibilities, but he hated the lack of freedom that came with living at home.

He was all over the place yesterday. He said that the info was fake but the breach is real. Then he claimed that the only "theft" and "robbery" that occurred was him having to get a Big Behind-da-Scenes $1500 Lawyer Bill to fix "all the stuff" whatever that meant. Then he claimed that his account was frozen for weeks (from what I remember from the leaks thread it was only frozen for a couple of days) so he couldn't pay his Robust Mature Adult Bills™. Then he claimed that the shithead was trying to perform unauthorized charges and move his money to accounts he didn't recognize. Then he claimed that the reason he got overdrafted and had late fees for some things because his accounts were frozen and/or the shithead performed unauthorized charges, and he implied that this happened multiple times in the past year so how the fuck didn't he notice something was off then? Then he went back to the vague "fucked up stuff was done to me" claim so he can broadly poison the well regarding the info we saw in the leaks and imply that a lot of the spending wasn't his, but it's also vague enough that if he gets confronted about it that he can play his usual DarkSemanticsPhil deboonk game. Then he kept going back and forth between some of those claims.

His narrative about it was always bullshit but it was especially so during his absolutely unhinged and disconnected rant yesterday. It was like listening to a crazy drugged up homeless man sitting on a train station bench incoherently rambling about aliens and nuclear bombs.

This puts every other "emergency" he's had into even further question. He's now claiming that his money troubles are because someone got into his account and was stealing money. There is no way that this was happening for any amount of time.

What transactions could be a troll's doing? The only ones that he needed to hide were the iTunes payments. But then, why would someone who has your bank details to send money out of it, would they not just claim it, especially given how much was spent.

His pattern of behaviour makes no sense if it were true. He'd have started an emergency stream the nanosecond someone moved any money from his account. He never would've shut up about it. He'd have done something to prevent it.

And what of his prior excuses? Bills and groceries? He couldn't have used this one before now? Why lie about those when he would've had a legit claim of victimhood.

We know why he didn't. Nothing happened to him over that time and he had no reason to make such a stupid claim.

The question will be how Youtube will implemtn those memberships and when they will make them available (and more importantly to whom). The system of Twitch is more or less ingenious but Youtube may need another route. Maybe they tie it to the Youtube premium accounts and then make only a small number of "gifted memberships" possible. And who knows maybe they will keep a sharper eye on any shenanigans (so Phil might be under scrutiny with 1000 memberships but stream viewership around 200) And if other big guys come over from Twitch (or up and coming streamers who find Twitch inhibting their growth) and his discoverability will stay in the gutter and no "I am a Youtuber for x years" will change that. Heck given the wokeness that every big social media company breaths he might fall victim to some "hateful slurs" cause in the coming years (I assume that Youtube might reign in their "partners" just as hard as Twitch and Phil has no nice tits to compensate for his behaviour)

Phil doesn't do "happy," Phil does "winning," which is to say, he doesn't do it very often, if at all. But that's how I imagine he approximates being content with his existence.

At his peak it was always about showing off his money, and getting off in selling this identity to an audience if retards. It's supremely ironic that he's subsequently built an entire brand on being an unironic failure. He created a fake zero sum life for himself, and then lost. Constantly.

It is, but like its not a universal thing. Its relative. I personally define it as you changing mechanics or using strategies in a specfic way. Like in JRPGs its the kind that makes you use specific skills like bosses that can only be hit by a certain element or hitting targets in a specific order . But say like most of Survival Horror is all puzzles. So, like Resident Evil doesn't have them, because all the bosses are puzzles.

I don't think Phil has normal emotions. It's easy to empathize and imagine other people are experiencing reality in a way similar to you, but psychological disorders can warp someone's experience of daily life to something utterly unrecognizable and I believe that is why Phil's external behavior looks so fucking crazy and off the wall. It's why he does and says seemingly illogical things, because in his warped reality it is perfectly logical. I think Phil experiences reprieves from stress with booze and entertainment, and probably thinks that's the happiest a person gets. He has repressed so much reality to feed his delusions that he has a decade long, fathoms deep well of pathos pulling the strings of his roach brain that he is completely unaware of. You and I might repress some shit, suffer and then have those cathartic "aha" moments that define life and help us grow into better people. I think Phil never did, the second life stopped being fun and easy as a teenager, he dug his hooves in and refused to put the required work in that is adult happiness, hence his development arrested and now he has weird obsessions with scat humor like a child, thinks he still holds the ethical high ground on his parents for not buying him a wolverine toy, and chases sweaty hogan jpegs instead of the dragon like a normal person.
