It was a big thing in the English speaking world to find ill behaved, and other kids talk to them for a little bit and then slap "Autisim" onto them as a diagnosis and use that for more funding or "Classroom enhancements" for said kids that didn't have that issue or had another issue that went untreated as a result, Autisim was the most commonly known learning disability at the time but the help very rarely made it to the kids and it got spread around to fill in other gaps in funding and that was really unfair to those kids as it caused them problems throughout school such as sticking them in lower achieving classes because they where viewed as incapable and cutting them off from other resources.
Made by me back in the early 2000s when other kids my age got to use a false diagnosis as a scapegoat for being a dreg of humanity:
the asshole diseas.png

Myself, all of my friends and many of my classmates had no idea what autism actually was because of the rampant cop-out false diagnosing. We all thought that ADHD just meant having a doctor's note excuse for being stupid and annoying while autism was a doctor's note excuse for being an intolerable piece of shit person. The harder our school and parents tried to push SpEd acceptance onto us, the more we hated them for their behavior that was being forced into our spaces. Fuck any parent who ever forces their (or other peoples') kids to let SpEds go to their birthday parties or forces them to let SpEds hang out with them and/or their friends.

EDIT: Regarding child asylums, those places are still rape farms behind closed doors when the cameras can't see what's going on. Children are already abused regularly by adults because they're kids and therefor "unreliable witnesses" or too scared to say anything. Throw in accusations that they're crazy, retarded or lying troublemakers? They become ripe for the reaping, inside of facilities and outside. Adults in asylums are still pimped out to fake visitors and the whole thing gets covered up by just about everyone possible just to keep the system up and running for a multitude of reasons. They might not be as horrific as some still were back in the 80s, but asylums are still abusive institutions that need to be eradicated if they never get completely reformed eventually. Shit's fucked, man.

Yep. Reform schools tend to be somewhere between grimdark daycares focused on warehousing troubled children until they're old enough to be homeless, and actual nightmare factories where bad kids go to get worse. I know some people think that young Chris could have turned out different had he been in a "Sped environment" rather than public school GenPop, and while I totally understand why they might think that, the sad reality is that he probably got the best possible care for himself by staying at home and trying to "mainstream".

Picture all the weirdoes you see on Kiwifarms. All the Horrocows and Pedo Furs and Deathfat Munchies scraping the skin off their own legs. Then imagine that these lolcows are all kids - so lots of hormones, no common sense, and a very poorly developed capacity for impulse control - and they're all stuck in a dormitory or two, 24/7, for anywhere from six months to several years. If they're well-behaved for long enough, then they might get a day pass every other weekend, but usually they're confined to the school grounds. There's a high turnover in staff, and the main job of staff is not so much to tard wrangle, as it is to play tard prison guard and occasionally tackle a kid and put him in four-points restraints. Many of the kids have drug problems, or a criminal record, or they're so exceptional they take shits in the communal shower stalls (when they shower at all), and the kids who actually have parents, have probably been assaulted, raped, or shot at by said parents. They learn nothing in school (at most, they'll get a standardized test a few times a year that everyone expects them to fail; rest of the semester they just sit at their desks, swaping tips on self-destructive behavior and/or getting handjobs under the table. Every day, each kid feeding on every other kid's misery.

We all know how crazy lolcows get when they voluntarily spend several hours a day on likeminded Reddit subs, yes? These places are a Reddit sub too, only in this case lolcows are FORCED to be there, and must spend every waking moment trapped in that environment.

Chris was screwed from the start, but I think Bob, for all his failings, really did have Chris' best interests at heart when he tried to give Chris a "normal" upbringing. And to be totally honest? As bad as Chris' life is right now, I can guarantee you that there are thousands of people, his same age, who went through the Virginia reform school system and turned out much. much worse.
So if that's not an option, what IS the solution to prevent lunatics like Chris Chan? Smothering them from birth?

I mean, reform school's AN option, just not a good option. It's not an option that would have lead Chris to a life of gainful employment, marriage, and family; more likely to drugs and living on the streets of Charlottesville.

If we want something that would stop Chris from ever being Chris, then smothering is most likely the only foolproof plan. But I've had hundreds of hours of entertainment thanks to Sonichu - it's unironically my favorite comic book series - so I'd say the best course of action is the one we already took; socialize Chris and keep in the public just enough, so that he can do weird shit, become an ironic e-celebrity, and leave a lasting legacy that future generations of trolls and shitposters can enjoy.

Chris would have never been normal, he would have always been odd even if he managed to get a job and live somewhat independently. Say he got some job like mail room or Gardner etc he's still be known as the local weirdo to a greater or lesser extent have age inappropriate interests or look at women in a creepy way and draw something like Sonichu but he'll not be as known as he is now.

If he had his internet access monitored like a Child by Bob or Barb (and when he got online that was a thing in the news daily) they would have likely stopped it from getting as bad as it did, especially if Bob was the one doing it and learned how the internet and internet culture worked (even if he didn't get it) they helecopterd Chris before that term was coined but didn't carry it on even though he was still mentally a child.

Ironically I think if Chris was born +/- 5 years either way he'd likely either not have been discovered or be as infamous as he was.

Age inappropriate interests really aren't an issue IMO, the thing that started everything going downhill was Chris's sexual awakening, during highschool everyone seemed to put up with him and Chris seemed to have an enjoyable enough time too but when he reached college and started his lovequest he went from naive and dumb but content sped to creepy guy and potential sex pest.

I'm not really sure what could be done to combat that aside from some extreme and unethical chemical castration since otherwise no matter where Chris was he'd be hunting for a boyfriend free girl using any technique he could think of without particularly worrying about the consequences.

Chris' issues are entirely on Barb. The worst thing you can say about Bob is that he was resistant to getting Chris professional help but thats explainable in 2 ways; Bob was intelligent and he would have observed growing up US mental institutions and he would know they were hell holes before getting shutdown. He likely applied that to all professional mental health facilities. Secondly when Chris was a kid school systems loved to slap learning disabilities on children for federal and state tard bux, with Bob's already previous prejudices it would be easy for him to think Chris would wind up like all those other mental health patients that were released after the government mental health shutdown.
I'm sure he probably grew to regret the decision but by that point he had retirement and barb's mental health to worry about.
This is why I hate reading anything related to Chris because her own rape and Chris acting like a huge fucking retard is her fault despite other people with autism living in worse conditions who don't act like this.

Don't be a clown, im not absolving Chris from blame at all. I have a big post around here about the personal accountability and he should be held completely liable in the eyes of the law.

His parents do hold responsibility for his unsupervised upbringing and lack of professional help. But its not their fault that he raped his mom.

There have been efforts to do it but it's harder than most people think, but I'm not so sure it should be done or at least fully.

I'd rather people get a Shopping card that can only be used for food and then that's strictly enforced with a list of foods that they can buy and a nono list of things like Tobbaco and Alcohol and then a cash deposit for incidental things and a issued bus / rail pass if they are reliant on public transport, that way you're not penalising the real job seeker and your not subsidising layabouts. But even then I can see how that system would be gamed so there is no way of balancing it fully, so we're left with a bit of a shit sandwich however we try and splice it.

I honestly think we need some form of change to the benefits system but what that change should be and how it should be executed is something I am far and a way unqualified to do, but one thing I think would help is jobs availability that pay a decent wage and access to real job training not some Mickey Mouse "job skill's" course where they tart up yoiur CV for the 10th time and send you on lessons about how to look for work but real skills that get you into a job like proficiency with Office Software to a legitimate standard, and then vocational skills courses in real skill's that will land you a job so if you have a intrest in Building trades you go on a 6 month training course that teams up with building companies who can recruit for jobs from there, etc.

As I said im unqualified to say what should be done so take that with a grain of salt but I can't help think that Job's and Education need to change for it to improve the benefits system and life in general.
The single biggest change we could make is to make it easier to get a job. I don't mean make it easier to be qualified for a job, just easier to get one. Right now finding a job, even one you're qualified for, is vastly more difficult than the work itself. It's like being on tinder, where job seekers are men and employers are women. Potential employees are always expected to have to jostle and prove themselves spending many MANY hours of unpaid labor that is outside their wheelhouse trying to get attention. Even when there are more jobs than potential employees, the employers will only actively fight for a tiny minority of applicants instead of trying to find ones that suit them (usually trying to poach people who already have jobs).

The reason the gig economy has been so successful is because they reduce the friction to getting hired. Unfortunately they do this at the expense of fucking the employees over by taking advantage of their naivete of the real costs of being an independent contractor. In real life contractors charge far more on 1099 work than an employee would on W2 simply because they know that they are responsible for their own expenses. Companies like Uber rely on a constant stream of new drivers that don't understand that they're really making less than minimum wage once all expenses are factored in.

The only other time I've seen low-friction employment in the US is with Mexican day laborers waiting in line outside the Home Depot parking lot. They show up, they get offered $x, and they accept or decline. The employer *comes to them* and negotiations are fast.

I'm a skilled professional in my field, but I still hate the job hunting process. The only time I feel valued by potential employers is when I'm already employed and they try to poach me. The rest of the time, it's like they feel I should be fucking grateful that they even deigned to talk to me.

Make it easy for people to get a job and you will see more employed people. The job doesn't have to be easy, just get rid of the meta of job *hunting*. Make the employee the prize. Make welfare just enough to be able to eat and have a roof over your head. You'll see a lot fewer people on welfare.

I see a lot of Kiwis thinking that Virginia is full of bleeding-heart liberals because Virginia was marked as "blue" in the 2020 election without looking at the results by county.

Greene County is circled in Mellow Yellow. That should put the idea of Chris being tried by a jury of troon-loving bluehairs to rest.

Claim he's too notorious in Greene County to get a fair trial there. Why not let's just change venue to, oh, I dunno, Albemarle County directly south, it's not very far away, it wouldn't inconvenience anyone, etc.

Your honor, my client is known as the autistic Tasmanian devil of Ruckersville, and locals don't like him very much. He deserves a change of venue because he's created a living nightmare for himself and everyone in the surrounding area.

It's been different now, because of the labor shortage. It used to be in 2018 that even at a interview at McDonald's, you'd be probed with difficult questions like "What is your biggest weakness" and "What was a time when you provided a customer with excellent customer service?" Now an "interview" consists of literally meeting the manager and talking about what days you can work, then getting hired on the spot. But it's still hard to get hired at the high-end fast food places like In-n-out, starbucks, chick-fil-a, and such.

There are people genuinely looking to work, but employers still aren't hiring them for some reason. The need is there but the friction is also still there. Whether it's because they don't *really* want to hire anyone since they still like the reduced payroll, but also like being short-staffed as an excuse for bad service, or as a reason to ask for corporate welfare, etc., I've never seen a definitive answer. It could be that companies just suck at hiring because they've always considered it not their job to reach out to workers beyond a "help wanted sign". Still, reading stuff like this gives an indication that the labor shortage has been grossly overblown:

yet again another thread derails from talking about chris to discussing of tards should be allowed to work or not and still receive tardbux and then eventually the workforce itself.

It's the mighty wings thread all over again.

I mean the first words out of Chris' mouth during arraignment was "I'm famous online." So, he would keep the delusion that he's famous, but lolcow famous. People are going to look a whole lot differently at Chris now. I mean, what else can Chris do at this point? Make a sex take of him and Barb?
