Or you can make a normal human live2d and make the dog like a accessory or a mascot like Hololive does
That's gay as fuck, and a human live2d almost always results in an anime-esque appearance.

lol, I'm apprehensive about going through with it because I either have to go anime or I have to go furry and I don't quite want to be associated with either.
Maybe commission a model based of the Animal Crossing fanart you got? It looks more western than weeb.

I meant normal human anime live2d and not furry garbage sonic recolor we are used to see in the envytuber community he can put the dog in his shirt or having it around like Ina does with her takodachis

Or if he really doesnt want anime then he can rig something that looks like TF2 models

I don't know who drew this but I think it's a Dictator Pickles (Emily Youcis / Alfred Playhouse) rendition of the dog. I like it a lot, and while it's more human than other options, it's still very furry.

The fun thing about it is you could swap out the hat with any accessory and do specific things with it. I like the idea of the drool being like a waterfall that flings around with the momentum of the avatar.

There's the Animal Crossing thing which is very cute and appropriate but maybe too cartoonish.

The most esoteric option is going with the album art of Shakey Graves I've ripped and used everywhere for no reason other than I like this song and it's a cow head.

Honestly if I had to pick right this second I'd go with the Shakey Graves. You can still add expressions on the cow head as if it's actually part of the character instead of a mask. Since the body is human it's not really furry.

Most of the non-anime Live2D I've seen from westerners look fucking terrible, might have something to do with many of them being woke gender confused weirdos, you just have to pick the lesser of two evils which is clearly anime. Anyone who says furry is the lesser is a delusional degenerate.

Being a known admin of the kiwifarms, already banned from payment processors, stalked by psychos and lawsuited left and right by lunatics; I don't think being now labeled as a weeb/furry accidentally could bring that many catastrophic consequences.

Or just try with a .png as peeps said before.
And later, when people are accustomed to the idea get the semblance of that .png live2d'ed.

I'd rather be an internationally infamous nigger-word sayer than a fuckin weeb.

I don't find the PNG stuff too compelling. It reminds me of those lazy YouTube videos where they have avatars that update once every 10 seconds and fold their arms when they're epically owning someone with facts and logic.

As long as you don't review anime or do a gay falsetto voice like digribro, you are in the safe brony, weeb and furry zone. But you could ask a character designer to keep the eyes as minimally anime as possible. Also, furry is characterized by all the colorful garnments and details and sparkle. If you keep the design in with earth tone colors, not many "cute" or "girly" details, and the eyes not anime, and only big enough for a reaction to be registered, then it's pretty safe I'd say.

While true, it doesn't mean that it has to come across this way. It's not what you do on your streams.
Many chuubas start with a static image of the concept art they want animated in the future.
So why not get someone for less than 50 bucks to make you a proper character concept with what you wish it to be?
"One original retard wiki dog/somewhat cartoony/not anime/not furry/lotsa drool, please."
You are seemingly intrigued by the concept, so why not. You can afford it with gradually getting your audience to ease into idea of you having an animated avatar. That shit takes over a month or two to animate anyway.

New rrat I just made up: Kiara's bad health, weak chin and pale complexion clearly mean that she's actually Alice von Habsburg, heiress to the Holy Roman Empire

Go spread it
keekihime...?

oooooooooooh...!

Recently was recomended by YT to some of this girl's highlights and I'm honestly impressed at how well done the mocap and lipsinc are executed, it's weird how some (I presume, never watched her stuff) indie like her can have this set up yet Miko, who seems to only use her 3d model as of late, can't get lipsinc on this level. Not blaming miko by the way but cover needs to up their stuff.
ok, now lets see her hand tracking...

Shit. That’s spicy af. Sad that Uehara already retired from JAV else I can see some cosplay AV from her videos lol. Wasn’t there already some cosplay AV actresses did some Marine cosplay R18 stuff already?
there's a pekora and ame JAV, and that's just the ones from the top of my head (someone posted them back in the thread). plenty more cosplay ones from other franchises.

...or so I've heard.

their shit was made AFTER Hololive with current tech vs ancient techs like their Holo counterpart. Sora, Roboco and Miko initial 3D was not that good vs their current one with Sora still has the best model. It’s sad that Sora is not exploring her immense potential of playing and doing goofy stuff with her model like Ame. I think the gremlin will unleash her true potential once she get green light with streaming with her 3D model.
I mean it's not just Sora that could be exploring 3D potential more, it's all of HoloJP, they all have 3D models as an option at least. (Although I would love to see Sora play Half Life Alyx and just waltz through the horror sections unfazed.)

It does seem that JP has had 3D models forever but it's EN that's pushing forward and covering new ground with just the Walfie models. Like, I'm watching Ina do another VR Art stream right now. And I'm hoping that maybe Senchou or someone caught wind of the first one, watched the VOD on her break, and wants to try (because more of these would be great).

None of them have, to my knowledge, tried a VR rhythm game of any kind yet. And who wouldn't want to watch Korone play the VR boxing game, "Thrill of the Fight"??

Of course, they're certainly not obligated to do anything they're not interested in, I just think it'd be fun to see them take some cues and do some new stuff. Maybe home VR isn't super popular in Japan due to the on-average smaller living spaces.

So Irys and Mumei had a watch along and the movie was Scary Movie.

Pretty surprised they were allowed to watch that as it has some gay jokes, tons of sexual jokes, tran jokes, etc.

I look forward to seeing clips of their reactions to some of the dirtier jokes.
Mostly, they straight-up ignored homo/tranny/race jokes, and/or had plausible deniability that they didn't even notice them. But there should still be some good clips.
IRyS didn't even know what a fro pick was ("what's that thing on his head?"), and when the characters tried to use a fish aquarium as a bong, she thought they were trying to drink it or something.
She's either sheltered as fuck or plays the part really well.

is the live2d incapable of animating the howto dog?
I think it would need to be redrawn to split into the layers needed for Live2D (e.g. lower jaw layer would need to extend further because more or less of it could be visible at any given time, that kind of thing).

But it could certainly be done, and probably a little easier than the average design. Maybe someone could make a rough proof-of-concept of it, and if it turns out promising enough, then Null could commission a redraw and proper rig.

someone mentioned coco said the 3d rig cover uses is apparently quite expensive, but it might have gotten cheaper or cover was willing to loan them out since rushia for example started using it too (although she'll forever be 2d).
you also have to consider EN is dabbling with it out of necessity, I doubt they'd do it that much if they had the same access as the JP girls, and some of JP might prefer 2d, korone and nene's doodles wouldn't be possible or a lot more work in 3d, or simply for the look itself.

on top of that would be the usual license stuff for the games, with rhythm also could have issue with the songs itself, shit like that tends to be a bit retarded even before you consider nip policies.
space shouldn't be that much of an issue, unless you want to do roomscale but the they already got a whole studio for that. most other stuff works just fine in a 6x6 feet space or seated.
