And that's why it's pointless to be mad about Phil getting money. 100% the actual cause of the $1500 "legal bill" he's been REEEing about. Our boy is in Hog Heaven right now. He's so obsessed he plans weeks out to get the money he needs, the emergencies aren't even half-truths at this point, he's going to completely destroy what little life he has left every time there's a new event, it's fucking tragic. I think he does this because he needs to be respected, relevant, and powerful somewhere, somewhere people don't know "he's the guy". So he blows almost 100k to be the top player in his guild, and so he can "own the scrubs" without having to practice or get good, just spend, spend, and spend. I know we dunk on Phil for it but Scopely should be reigned in in someway, this is preying on pure addictive traits without returning any value, it can't even be compared to gambling, it's just pure exploitation of weak people. I know some libertarian will come out of the woodwork to say it's Phil's fault, just the market bro, before going elsewhere to write 5 paragraphs on why loli should be legal, but people the line has to be somwhere, and I think engineering something to prey on people's psychological weaknesses without delivering a shred of value, is that line.

At this rate the hat will be the $50 ''reward'' soon.
Yea, I genuinely just feel bad for the dude right now. His mannerisms, pleading whines, and babyman rage anger me a lot, but this whole aspect of his life is so fucking extreme and feverish that I really do think Kat might leave him over it. I think he is probably spending way more than he got from the begs, and is dipping into his survival money. What's he gonna say when he eventually can't buyAnd that's why it's pointless to be mad about Phil getting money. 100% the actual cause of the $1500 "legal bill" he's been REEEing about.
I still think it's comparable to gambling. In the end, true casino addicts never leave with more money than they came in with; the house always wins by design. Spending money for RNG rolls on anything - currency or sweatyman.jpgs - is exploitation all the same. Our boy is in Hog Heaven right now. Edit: Does anyone know what he would have to spend for this, ballpark? I don't have Twitter to ask the OP, maybe someone here who does could.
I myself get gnarly pit sweat, so I'll give DSP credit for that in a grey shirt. I have never in my live seen love handle sweat stains though. Whoah! Not to mention how low his chest is having in that first photo, looking like the Michelin man. Why does he continue to wear form fitting t shirts..A robust custom made authentic car loan.

I don't know, there's at least something tangible to win, actual money. In gacha it's the same risk (often even worse odds) and the best you come away with a jpeg that they will eventually render obsolete by design, that's the real difference that makes it intolerable for me. I don't usually like regulation, but filling games with lootboxes, etc. just feels like something that contributes nothing to society and only takes. Gambling usually comes with extra taxes for the host cities, tourism, comps for the players, there's a lot that goes in to balancing the vice aspect of it out. This just feels like a Chinese vacuum hooked up to American autists' wallets.I still think it's comparable to gambling. You WOULD think after going bankrupt and getting bank leaked, he would stop or slow down. He has serious problems. And that's why it's pointless to be mad about Phil getting money. 100% the actual cause of the $1500 "legal bill" he's been REEEing about.
Is it any different from paying for cosmetic items in any video game? These items have value to some people even if they aren't necessarily tangible. The issue isn't the fact that they're paying for pixels, it's the fact that the items are being bait-and-switched with RNG mechanics and the developers constantly shifting the goalpost. This is how it's comparable to casinos. The added benefits of casinos for a city/community are sort of a separate issue with regards to how it affects the victims of these establishments (the addicts).I don't know, there's at least something tangible to win, actual money. In the end an idiot and his money are separated somehow anyway. People enjoy different things so i don't really care where they put their money as long as they at least get their enjoyment out of it. Also with assholes like Phil here it's fun to watch them run themselves into a hole. I don't believe it's societies place to say what you should spend your money on. If anyone really has a problem spending they should have enough brains to at least get help for it. Though i do admit if you have a problem it's hard to see it and even harder to ask for help cause of the shame something like this brings. Still in the end let the market decide whats right and wrong not feelings.I don't know, there's at least something tangible to win, actual money. There has been some regulation though, right? I am under the impression that after many suits, gatcha games have to publish the actual winning odds of pulls (I also 100% believe these can be/are fabricated). But at the same time, if some idiot is willing to spend $1000 hoping he gets the new character to flex, some douche bags running a mobile game software company have the same right to make that profit.I don't know, there's at least something tangible to win, actual money. WWE Champions arc + Bankruptcy arc + Bank leaks arc is a combo that is more than enough to show that Phil will never have a decent life. And that's why it's pointless to be mad about Phil getting money. 100% the actual cause of the $1500 "legal bill" he's been REEEing about.
I guess it's a fundamental disagreement about how far you believe the law/government's role goes in protecting it's citizens. I understand some people think its very limited, some even to the point of letting the country become a Mad Max wasteland of McDonald's shanty towns, but we're not here to discuss politics, and there's really no other way to approach it so we can just agree to disagree. This shit just made me genuinely feel bad for people like Phil who have no self-control over something so simple. Is it any different from paying for cosmetic items in any video game? If Scopely was promising some kind of potential financial benefit, I might agree with you. But they're selling exactly what they promise. Payday lenders or rent-to-own places that actively work to obscure how much they're ripping you off while promising that they're helping? Now you're speaking my language in terms of stopping exploitation.I don't know, there's at least something tangible to win, actual money. Well as someone above said, they might be forced to disclose the odds of pulls, but I am almost positive they obscure it as much as legally possible, they have teams of lawyers trying to obscure the reality as much as possible I am sure. This is similar to how MLMs have to disclose how much each tier makes, and they do it once a year/quarter in these impossible to find documents that are worded extremely confusingly. If Scopely was promising some kind of potential financial benefit, I might agree with you. I agree with everything else you say though. I never thought about how much casinos have to pay in taxes, while these mobile game corps can write it as profit.
Phils main problem with this is really the fact that he has no one who cares about him and he cares for no one. If he had a SINGLE person who cared and saw what his spending was like they probably would try their hardest and maybe even get trough to the gacha lord yet even his own parents don't care about him anymore. If he had someone he cared for like his wife he would maybe grow a conscience and one night think what would happen if they were out of cash and how that would end for both of em. Phil is a narcissist with 0 friends and loved ones and thats why he will end up horribly when the whales stop turning up.Some context on Phil's addiction. He's the top player in his guild of fellow whales, look at his roster score compared to the next highest player:

Phil's top 5 superstars are all 5 star golds, the other dude only has 5 star silvers. I think he might even be a whale among whales. No wonder the WWE Champions Twitter and discord is ontop of blahcking detractor shit about him.

I think she cared at the beginning, and I think he opened up to her in their online conversations about his "problem" because he said she made him promise to quit before she moved in. If that's true and not some pig-lie, that makes this all a lot more sad, and it shows he knows he has a problem and viewed Kat as someone he could talk to and who could help. But, of course, the pigroach prevails and he just went right back to it and completely memoryholed his come-to-jesus, heartfelt, agreement with her about his addiction and went back for the sweaty man jpeg dopamine. Like with most addictions, people try to help but keep getting burnt by broken promises, theft, etc. I'm sure Khet is at this point cause there is absolutely no way she doesn't notice a ~100k habit. They have certainly had to dip into her paycheck before cause he's had negative and very low balances for days at a time according to the leaks.Phils main problem with this is really the fact that he has no one who cares about him and he cares for no one. Phil's not in a top whale guild though, so it's not surprising that he far outspends his guildmates. This is just the top guild he could find that doesn't require communication and whose members said "lol do it fag" when threatened with doxing.I think he might even be a whale among whales.
