Couldn't you say the same thing if you look at the number of gay people in the 50s vs. the 80s? Greater societal acceptance comes more with more people "coming out". I don't see how that's necessarily problematic as such.
I do think that for *some* it's just attention-seeking twattery, or at least they abuse it as such. But I'm not so convinced this is the case for the majority. The whole gender bla-bla these people publish is a load of nonsense, but this does not make the entire concept a load of nonsense. What makes these people contemptible retards is their ideas and attitudes, not that they're queer, trans, or non-binary *as such*.

Not a popular opinion on this site at alll lmao but I do agree to an extent. Hell you don't have to go that far back to see that even being suspected of being gay came at a pretty big social cost
But I think it's interesting to point out that there's not been an actually that large increase in gay men and certainly not lesbians, it's mostly just young people (mostly women) now identifying as bi or claiming to be trans/NB.
