I heard of this argument but does it really fit with Phil's pattern of behavior? Spending money on a random game for a crazy way to show his bitterness and tell his audience that this video game is not real life? Why not just whine on stream FOR FREE like he usually does?
No one has found definitive proof he paid anything. But he is such a jealous bitch I would not put it past him to buy it. Especially if he can play it and get a refund as he has alluded to doing in the recent past.

Fucking LOL! I've never seen this before.

Phil's lack of professionalism continues to amaze.
He can't do ANY troubleshooting or testing to see if the games he's promised to play are ready for the big event until the last second. OOPS turns out that game doesn't work so, too late to poll for another one so we're just gonna do this low effort thing instead! He LOVES video games you guys that's why he only touches his video games when he needs to for the stream.
And he claims his monthly $5k expense is in part due to "maintenance" and "upgrading" his equipment when he can't even be assed to check if he can play all his Halloween games BEFORE Halloween.

Okay, so for what it is worth, I fired up my PS3 (this wasn't much work, to be clear, I keep it hooked up to play my physical collection), and loaded up the store. It works fine for me.
The store took a little longer to load than I was expecting, to the point that I was waiting on an error message, but then it was fine and I'm currently on the Silent Hill purchase page.

So this rules out the possibility that the store quietly got shut down. It was my understanding that Sony was originally going to do that in the summer, but got blowback and opted to keep it running for the time being. I wouldn't put it past them to then quietly disable it, but it's working fine for me.

There was also no update, and I believe the last time I updated was at the start of September. That was likely the one that Phil says 'bricked his online portion'.
This is definitely a Phil problem. It's just the question of if you believe it is with his hardware, or his head.

I'd say the difference here is to get to the casino it's a trip for me. For Phil to gamble all he has to do is pick up his phone. He has nothing else to occupy his time at home when he isn't streaming. Nothing to relieve the boredom which is why it will be difficult to give up. He needs help.

I'm curious if he called scopely and said he had an addiction problem would they lock his account? Would they be legally obligated to help ?

Thing is, he used to have stuff to do to relive his boredom.
He traveled across the country to play tournaments, he had actual friends that he hung with, he had a college degree with a good looking underage girlfriend. He had his detractors, but also legitimately did have a fairly large fanbase following.

Yet he threw it all away due to his greed, ego & laziness.

I think it's safe to say we are all praying he gets arrested sometime in the future for his scamming, rather than getting help for his WWE Champion addiction.

Scopely would never do that either. The only reason casinos provide support for gambling addicts is because the shit they would get if they didn't.
The tech companies that run these gacha games are protected by the politicans they, frankly, control. I think there was something about treating loot boxes as gambling & it was shut down FAST & nothing more came of it.

The thing is I GUARANTEE he has never cleaned his PS3 and the PS3 is known to have issues if you don't clean it for years on end. The thing is if his system was bricked it wouldn't turn on or even load any games, physical or digital. But it is just a network issue which can be solved by going into the settings and fixing it or reconnecting his internet. Again he can emulate it but he is too lazy for that too.

Or maybe Phil is trying to play some 5D chess moves to not play Silent Hill and play another game that won't show how shitty of a gamer he is.

This is the same guy who says "my internet cable popped out". That shouldn't even be possible, RJ-45 connectors have clips to hold them in place, somehow, everything in his home is broken in some way.

No I rather just talk shit to you. All in good fun.

Phil and his alien speak is due to him trying to substitute words out using his robust cornucopia of vocabulary. To try and come off smarter. I find if you can explain it to some one like they are 5 years old everyone can understand except for Phil's chat.
TFW you don't know lexicon and have to substitute vocabulary.

My sides went into orbit, he looks so exceptional. I bet his wheelchair fans loved the costume.

Also, Phil looks like shit, dude's like 39? but he looks like he's in his 50's. I wouldn't be surprised if his hair starts to turn gray in a few years.
The King of Suffering spends like $60 a week at a woman's hair salon, if his hair color is natural I'll get triple vaxxed and tattoo an image of Saint Fauci force-vaxxing Saint Floyd on my forehead.

You know they did. You know they drooling. When they saw Phil bring out the Cookie Monster onesie they rushed to tip. When he ordered that crappy med-american food they were dead. His fans literally think Phil is a fucking God.

I can't say I'm shocked that the Halloween marathon (of breaks) was incredibly boring, but it does speak to a larger trend with Phil lately which is that he avoids literally anything that could bring about interesting (read: funny) content.

A good example is the whole Keemstar thing. He attacks Keemstar for no reason. Keemstar responds. Phil goes for some pithy response that is entirely nonsensical when you digest the situation as a whole and then plugs his ears and goes LA LA LA LA LA and pretends he never even bothered to watch Keemstar's second response. This is a significant trend lately, and I'd argue it's the only interesting development in the goutverse lately besides the bankleaks.

The interesting trend being just how uninteresting Phil is. But it's clearly deliberate, as he still fears the detractors for whatever reason even though he's been fucked with less than any other lolcow. If you've ever made an embarrassing post on 4chan you've probably gotten worse trolling than Phil has ever got. The most intriguing part of it all is that his intense avoidance has metastasized into something actually to his detriment, which is that he won't play any of the new big releases because he is afraid of this is how you don't plays, afraid of trolling, afraid of having more than 200 viewers on any regular stream. Metroid Dread is the obvious example. A new entry into a Nintendo series, a series with far less ubiquitous entries than Mario, meaning the hype is/was huge. And he never even bothered despite constant requests even from true believers. It's of no interest to him- it's not about the video game to him at all anymore. He's entirely focused on the same ripe vein of parasocial pignosis as we are. He's probably more tapped in and more in-tune to it than we could ever hope to be. He seems to understand that his fans will watch and donate anything because they really have nothing else, and to give Phil credit the most effective thing he has ever done is twist everything into an us versus them narrative. He is like Koresh or Manson at their pinnacle, total power. He can do whatever he likes and still all the resources, tips, superchats will come in.

The only thing that interferes with this deep seated understanding within Phil are his other personality disorders, the strangest of all being his ego. The best content comes about when he can't keep one of his weird emotional complexes in check and lets it run wild. We're at a point where I truly believe there's no end to Phil, no sinking ship. Phil makes more than six figures a year and doesn't even bother to pay taxes on it. He's perfectly fine regardless. There's no brilliant ending, there's nothing except this man streaming into his 50s to 100-200 disabled people and then he will die. All we can hope for is for something to come along and harm his ego once every month or so we can get a laugh or two.
