The cycling and reliability improves if you use a mid length vs a carbine length. SBRs suffered from chopped down barrels on carbines without enlarging the gas hole and needs a heavier buffer too.

Well they dont count rounds in a clip, but it should be able to fore a whole normal Mag without melting, if nots, its another reason why Assault rifles are stupid and should have never replaced full sized battlerifles.
