Based on this fact:

There's no more "going back to normal". It's no longer about chasing the static goal of "get 95% of the population vaccinated" - it's now a perpetual moving goalpost, because every day more "fully vaccinated" people are going to hit that 6-month mark and suddenly not be "fully vaccinated" anymore, which can only be mitigated by getting another jab every six months ad infinitum. I get the feeling that even a lot of people who happily got in line for their first two jabs aren't going to be quite so enthusiastic about this surprise recurring subscription, not to mention those who were basically coerced into it.

Getting 90% of your country to take the vaccine is already a tall order, but it's at least doable, as evidenced by some countries that have achieved precisely that. Trying to maintain a 90% "actually fully vaccinated" population taking into account the 6-month expiry date on vaccine-induced immunity is a futile game of whack-a-mole.

This is why the definition of herd humanity was changed from a mixture of natural immunity and vaccination to merely a "threshold" of vaccination.

TLDR: Isreal has had a jump in cases but the death rate is significantly lower than previous waves. This is proof that vaccines are effective

Why does it matter? Less people are dying and are experiencing milder symptoms.
Again, the goal with the vaccines isn't to banish covid to the shadow realm. It's to minimize human risk

And that bit about Delta being less dangerous is false. It's twice as contagious and is much more likely to put you in a hospital. This is from the CDC. The reason it never wreaked havoc like last years strands was because (lol) people were vaccinated.

That's not true. It is taking a larger % of hospitalizations, and supposedly "young people" (re:anyone under 50) are making up a larger share of hospitalizations; but in terms of individual risk your chances are roughly the same.

The reason you likely don't give the likes of the polio and Tdap jabs any thought was because you would have been vaccinated with them at early childhood, at either a hospital or a school, like the first polio jab was when it was first rolled out in the 1950s:

I remember the Tdap jabs and barely remember the Polio ones, however I don't remember any of the literal insanity associated with them, but that might have been different in the 1950's.

I also don't remember them being utterly useless either.

Everyone I know who's had Covid was double-jabbed at the time, myself included, except 3 people who got infected before the vaccine was available. Surely you can say it's not a massive leap for people to look around at all their immunised buddies catching Covid and concluding it just isn't worth having the shot, since it doesn't seem to do anything.

I hope the companies are working on Covax 1.1 that'll be demonstrably more effective, so people on the fence may go get it.

It was hard to find the J&J in my area, so I had to drive some. But when I told the pharmacist I was getting the one-shot J&J, she was like "ahh, need it for work?".

Lol, I wonder why that article about the Polio vaccine doesn't mention the story about Dr. Alton Ochsner (popularized blood transfusions) giving his grandkids the polio vaccine which gave them both polio and killed one of them. It was an early developed form of polio vaccine and Dr. Ochsner wanted to convince people it was safe. Tragic story, and the polio vaccine probably doesn't do that to people very often any more, but it always amuses me when people cite decades old vaccines with half a century's worth of development and research (in an uncontroversial way) to say that a brand new vaccine, which is being used as a bludgeon to demand increased compliance out of a population and to hold the economy hostage, is safe.

Anyway, still not jabbed, won't get jabbed until they threaten me personally. I'm not superman.
