US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I really have to ask the people celebrating here, what did you win? What has the right won?

On the face of it, it appears to be a Dem loss. But really who is Youngkin? He's an unironic multibillion dollar asset manager CEO. This feels like celebrating a Romney 2012 win. Oh ooooo great, you defeated the messiah himself! Now prepare for....the same thing but Mormon?

I really don't see what's to be all hyped about here. A guy got in who might delay some of the worst excesses of the left. Not a guy who is going to rip it out stem and root. A Larry Hogan and not a Ron DeSantis. A not even Greg Abbott. Congrats? Because hedgies and wall street types are well known for their second amendment support, anti-transkids agenda, and small government approaches.

Yall need to take a cold shower and have some perspective. Acting like the globohomo has been dealt some punch to the nose by electing a hedgie and B-B-B-BASED IMMIGRANT. Give me a fucking break lmao.
  1. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the doable okay.
  2. It's a potential prelude to the midterms.
  3. It shows the Democrats are not invincible, rebukes them for their 10 months of arrogance, and is a big win for Righty morale.

That's an easy one! There's a Dem loss in what should have been a Dem lock state, with record turnout and spending at a dead heat between the Democrat and Republican candidates for governors. Downballot, the Republicans took most of the house while spending less than their competitors in a state that, again, seemed like a lock for the Democrats. Maybe Youngkin isn't the candidate you wanted. But what this (and to a lesser extent for now, NJ) show is that there is a tremendous amount of vulnerability. It shows that the Biden mandate is flimsy, if it still exists at all. It shows that the winds of change are once again blowing, and that they're not at Biden's back.

Yes, there's more work to be done. But this isn't the time to ask for a break from it! This is the time to start looking for the next opportunity and adding to what was gained last night.
I think some people are missing the part where the Republicans had a great night in a place that was considered a safe blue state. Like they did very well not even just the governor election. But statewide as well.

I remmber how big of a deal that Virginia went complete blue in 2019. This election pretty much reverse that.

Election was like a sports game last night. Then, it hit me: Man, right-wingers are hyped up over yet another typical GOP businessman winning an election?

However, this shows that drive and tactics work through the machines though. So, no loss in optimism at all there.

Youngkin is a no-name that made magic happen with some help. Fingers crossed, but I hope he invests well in actions (and pocketbook, let's be real here lmao), and not waste 4 years in the governor's mansion watching Tiki Torch TV.

As opposed to what? Letting McAwful win? Accelerate hard into civil war?

I'm curious as to what people like you wanted. If you wanted a different person on the ballot, you should have started four years ago, when Northam was elected.
Do you think this is averting anything? Do you think we aren't continuing to go into the same damn direction we have been?

I ask again, what victory is a billion dollar hedgie and based immigrant? More "line go up! Stock market go up!" and "we'll staple a green card on every diploma!" Republicanism. The worst publicly visible excesses are curtailed, hopefully. That's the victory? It should have been apparent how deep the cucking is when all these parents are showing up shocked and angry that they've given their kids to be raised by people that hate them. They still do! They still want to send them to these woke concentration camps. The thing is, you can kvetch and strip out these HOA Karen's from the school boards all you want but the teachers will do it them fucking selves.

Did Trump save the country in 2016? No, he was largely incompetent and merely showed how badly the economy had been stiffled and strangled. What was his plan to control for election rigging? Start a department for it and head it up with a Bushite lmao. Then get blindsided when that same office starts the "most secure election in history" line. That's what this win is. You've put someone who at best is a more palatable enemy into the driver's seat and patted yourself on the back about a job well done.

Shit even your retort is to "democracy harder!" Hey, retard, what does it say that "activated soccer moms" whose righteous indignation apparently carried this still want the state to steward their children? They not just want it they demand it! There is no "democracying" our way out of darkness here. Yea, it's fun to laugh and mock the progs who have egg on their face from their failed predictions. It is funny. However, get real and ask yourself what actual victory is pried from this? Anything to stop the march of the DC suburbs? If not, then this is a panacea. Enjoy the left kvetching and shitting themselves. Enjoy the smug posting. Just stop the embarrassing act that this is some turning point.

Hey, exceptional individual, what does it say that "activated soccer moms" whose righteous indignation apparently carried this still want the state to steward their children?
The middle class pays taxes for these schools and has every right to expect accountability. Home schooling is the purview of crunchy moms and the religious. private schooling is the purview of the wealthy.

smdh New Jersey (a glorified NY and PA suburb) wound up almost flipping and the swampiest of swamp states went Republican and doomers still insist on portraying any change in direction for the country's politics as a facade.
You know, propaganda is as much about convincing people they're alone and isolated and agitating for change won't accomplish anything as it is about pushing a false narrative. You're unironically doing the work to bolster what you clearly hate.

cry harder dumbass

The Virginia house flipped republican by one seat, so they really should push to get some election day lockdowns on certain gay counties like Fairfax the way Miami Dade was cleaned out in FL.

All Youngkin has to do is bare bones republican shit. No mandates, no CRT, prune some election bullshit here and there, and he'll have succeeded. Running on a platform of "I want to leave you and your family alone" is a winning formula because you don't have Obummer trying to strawman it as being heartless.

Republicans did really well last night

To start, they flipped the House of Delegates and won the three big executives state wide.

In New Jersey, Governor Murphy will most likely squeak by to a narrow victory. The GOP will, hopefully, be kicking themselves that they didn't put more money/time into this race.

Currently, the New Jersey senate is 14D, 12R with 14 seats outstanding. The GOP will likely pick up a handful of seats, bringing them to 17/18. This would leave democrats with a tiny majority in the state senate.

The assembly is currently still outstanding, with 56 seats still undecided.
Not bad. So the Republicans seem to have had a good night.

I am going to see the results of my county elections. I know most of The proposals failed.

Oh, I get your gimmick now! Good luck with your alternative to democracy. I think we all know what you have in mind, and you're going to have to look elsewhere to find support for that.

Ah OK cool. Inferences and moral victories. Nothing of substance. "We changed the make-up from D to R more efficiently than expected!" What a profound victory. This is what I'm talking about. People are pissing themselves in excitement and acting delirious over "Corporate Republican #825752-64B and Model Immigrant who shows how much we need more immigrants" taking office. When what is the real apparent victory here? Journos eating shit? So every other Wednesday then? Lol

Go ahead and celebrate and mock the progs who are losing their shit because they are eternal children. Just don't forget how much of a blip this really is in the grand scheme. Be careful you aren't just ODing on opiates instead of getting the fucking cancer dealt with.

I think the point is that there’s blood in the water. Dems having close races in two states they expected to win and losing one of them is a problem for the party.
Oh, ok. "There's blood in the water." More delirious celebration from the right over inferring the state of their opponents. At least we're progressing off the hopium and back into reality. "Leftism proved unpopular once again!"

Ok, I'm prepared for all your Xs, but hear me out.

To me, New Jersey was WAY more important than Virginia. Because there is now a chance, just a CHANCE, a 1% I am not totally black-pilled chance, that New York State goes with a Red govenor in 2022.

Hear me out. New Jersey was supposed to be won by like 15-20 points, and the blue looks like it will BARELY hang on.

New Yorkers voted overwhelmingly against nearly every prop last night. I cannot understate how much Hochul is HATED in Upstate, and I don't think she's going too well even in NYC. Letitia James, the NYS Attorney General that might actually primary Hochul, is just as hated.

There is a CHANCE after seeing New Jersey last night, that enough of Upstate just goes "fuck it; literally anyone else."

Shut up, let me have this.

dumb-and-dumber-lloyd theres a chance.gif

At this point, doing nothing is a win. Just leave us alone and let us go about our day, and that'll score points.

Very interesting point. It occurs to me that the Democrats' recent political strategy
This has been their strategy since they found out communism wouldn't work.

Lee Zeldin (I'll presume he's gonna be the Republican's guy) is an interesting guy. He's a Trump supporter, he served in Iraq, he was a Lieutenant Colonel and he's also Jewish. Unfortunately I doubt the GOP will lend any serious resources to NY for a good campaign to happen. Too many other purple and light blue states have become vulnerable.

CNN currently opining that they lost Virginia because Democrats didn't do enough nationally. I think it's more like everything they have done is bad.
That's not possible. To the left, doing left things is good, by definition. They literally can't grasp the idea that "lets have armed guards drag the father of a rape victim away from a government meeting of bureaucrats that were covering it up" or "you shouldn't have the right to determine what the state teaches your children" could be considered bad in any way is literally unthinkable. That's why their stances are that the evil members of the not-party are either lying or just too stupid to understand the basic facts.

So, according to this person, Biden himself is blocking popular policies from passing in Congress because he's a "centrist"?
Yes. This is a common radical left talking point. "America is SUUUUUPER conservative compared to Europe. The 'far left' in America would be a center-right party in Europe! We don't even have any Socialists or Marxists running in national elections! Therefore you should listen to my batshit insane Marxist ideas because they're 'real' leftism."

Saw it all the time in the bubble, usually by batshit insane progressives desperate to put people in camps for the crime of owning property.

Honestly, Trump is either obscenely lucky or he has a systematic approach to his actions that actually speculates possibilities a few steps ahead.

In favor of strategic loss: He had all the knowledge of several things that would make the sitting president eat shit just in 2021 (Afghanistan, Coronavirus), and we have some three more years to come. He also had very visible problems with internal party politics that take a number of election cycles to resolve. The overextension of Democratic political gambits is also something that a casual observer can see, and political research can definitely see it in detail. The opposition politics were HEAVILY oriented around Trump’s person itself, which becomes ineffective at best if Trump is not in fact in power. The opposition leadership is largely at the cusp of retirement, with few strong protegees. There’s just so much to win with a little patience.

In favor of strategic win: Honestly, not that much. The Democrats were firing on all the barrels they had and that does give them a very strong position across the election, both presidency and Congress. I do believe the critical Republican 2020 strategic victory was to just about hold onto Senate to make the strategic losses above palatable by stopping the Democrat government from doing anything too drastic. Or anything at all. Republicans including Trump are in an astonishingly great place to be patient in.

What I think is the big stroke of luck for Trump in 2020 is that he managed to lose with such a tiny margin that holds his personal momentum for the time being and keeps his future campaign on the table. That is absolutely not in his control. No one can possibly deliberately run such a specific campaign that millions of people turn out just right to squeeze out such an underwhelming victory for the opposition. But using the alleged opposition voter fraud to all but guarantee Trump such an outcome? Impressive if true—he’d not be that lucky after all. From here, he’s on track to a roaring re-election campaign against a thoroughly depleted and humiliated opposition and a more cohesive party behind him.
Trump was the wrecking ball that broke party dynamics. Dems focussed so hard on getting him out that they couldn't see a way out after him. Dems don't have any room to pivot after Virginia.

They cannot appease blacks on vaccine mandates because suburban whites are scared shitless.
They would have to abandon what little progressive posturing they have left. So that means the border has to be locked down, the "human infrastructure" needs to be abandoned. Trannies will have to GTFO.

And they do not have the time to do these things gracefully. This is the end of their evolutionary chain here.

I think you're underestimating the amount of people in here that are generic republican cheerleaders. Some of them are starting to sound like my boomer relatives, losing track of the point of all of this and getting lost in the political back and forth.

Still,, I think Youngkin winning is a small victory. But I'll never consider it a win just because it benefits the GOP and hurts the Dems.
