Since I'm not entirely sure on legal aspects but if Barb is declared unfit to live on her own; would Cole be the one who'd get involved in settling her into a nursing home/assisted living situation?
Does any one know what occurs in this situation? If your next of kin basically goes 'Fuck no I want nothing to do with it!' ?
I can't at all blame Cole for having nothing to do with this, but I am curious about what will happen if this comes up. Does Barb even still having other living family left that could make such a decision if she was declared unfit to live alone if Cole refused all contact?

She has a sister who was going to take Chris in until she found out what he’d done.
She might have people from her church helping her.

If they told Cole Smithey That his elderly mom with dementia is losing her house and is going to become homeless and die in the streets if he does not take her In, is Cole smithy really going to just say, “fine with me let her become homeless and die in the cold”. Is Cole really going to do that? He is going to let his mom die from exposure after the bank takes the house??? He really has no responsibility at all???? Is Cole being cold hearted or is this just typical of white trash?

I mean...I would say the exact same thing. let em die in the street. So he might do it. But I was more curious if he would be the one to say what facility she went to then any thing.
They can but it's more like 'Well they will spend the rest of their life in a facility..or in a group home'.
At least where I am, there are these situations. Which is how alot of the group homes in my locale have clients. The state stepped in before they became a career mental health facility patient.

I doubt he is, but i assume as soon as the court decides to add rape to the charges, it might become viral on twitter again. especially if Tucker Carlson updates us on it.

While Cole is a pretentious try hard, he had no reason to lie about Barb's abuse and nothing he said is out-of-character for her to do. I don't blame him for not wanting to take in his abusive mother, especially when all of Barb's money problems are her and Chris' fault.

Barb is a really shitty person. It was on her to mend the broken relationship with Cole. Just like Chris, she kept fucking it up. Rate me mad on the net, but yeah, if my mom or family member was like Barb, I'd leave them out in the cold. If Barb wasn't going to acknowledge or fix her abusive behavior, then why would Cole bother?

Judging from how the rest of the family has outcasted Barb and Chris there's little reason to doubt Cole to be fair.
I wonder how hard Cole tried to reach out; but if some one repulses any effort to mend a relationship; especially your parent. I don't blame them for not caring. Especially when long term it'll drag you into a shit storm. I've no doubt it was depressing any time he tried.

Social workers are pretty useless even with proven cases of abuse. I doubt they will do anything to actually help Barb. It'll be the church helping her.

If you're raised by a narcissist then you're stuck with two choices: cut them out of your life and try to move on (Cole) or "try to get along" by getting gaslit until you are their chew toy (Chris). Why do you think Chris is so easy to manipulate and humiliate? That's his default form of human interaction.
Barb has been disowned by EVERYONE in her life because she's a gross, manipulative, exploitative monster who tried to fuck her sister's husband as a power game. She became increasingly deranged the older she got, forcing Chris to pick scabies out of her ass, sleep in the same bed and spoon with her.
Chris has decades in the public eye and Geno's doc opened him up to a whole new audience, who naturally wanted to interact with him. Chris got to choose who he wanted to associate with and he chose a gross, manipulative, exploitative monster with a familiar personality. Literal motherfucking aside, "men marry their mothers".
People here like to say Chris raped Barb based on his autistic retelling of the event to Bella. Bella is getting off on the conversation. She obviously knew the situation beforehand and that other people would eventually hear it. She recorded it for blackmail purposes and chose questions knowing exactly how he would answer.

To everyone thinking that Cole will magically forgive Barb for her transgressions: please, shut the fuck up. If the circumstances were such that Cole had to be responsible for Barb in some capacity now, then the most that Cole would do is foot the bill for a nursing home whenever Barb becomes financially insolvent. That's it. Cole has a lot of good reasons to never set foot near 14BC ever again. Let the shitty movie critic exist in peace without having to worry about autists asking about his schizo brother raping his mother.
