Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I agree, BUT the problem is, if that is the argument, the mandate will just eliminate it and say "vaccine or fired."

In nuclear shipyard news, General Dynamics is apparently choosing to read the mandate in such a way that they do not have to get vaccinated until their contracts get rewritten demanding such, while Newport News has apparently revealed that 75% of their workforce has gotten at least one shot, leaving some 6000-8000 people completely unvaccinated. This jives with the Raytheon boss reporting some 5000 people refusing to get vaccinated, and can likely be extrapolated to many (if not most) of the big military contractors.

Take this with a minor grain of salt though since I’m basically getting this info third-hand from coworkers who know people who work there.

The narrative for why McAuliffe lost is close to being finalized, and right now it looks like they're going to blame it on "dog whistles" that drove high white turnout while being fine with minorities because, uh... minorities are dumb and need to be guided by the Party for their own good

Watching DeSantis's remarks on the mandate and Florida joining the lawsuit. I've said it before, but it bears repeating - I hope he doesn't run for the big chair in '24 because I want him to keep doing a bang-up job here.

I just got hired at a major defense contractor and have not heard a peep from HR about ANYTHING relating to covid, no request for vax card, no reminder to wear a mask when I start, nothing. Mind you this a plant in the Deep South and I can guarantee maybe 70% are vaxxed.
