I want to be clear that I think they are just stupid and don't understand how courts work. I waited a day after this announcement to see if the court has updated its docket with regards to the status of Ronald McDonald's case. I was looking to see if there had been a plea hearing yesterday or otherwise some movement of the schedule to indicate the trial on Monday had been cancelled.

As you can see, there was no hearing yesterday, nor has the docket changed to reflect that there's going to be a plea hearing. It is possible there was a plea hearing, and the court just has not updated its docket yet, but it's more likely that the paperwork to arrange a plea hearing is still being filed. What likely happened was that the defense and prosecution have reached a plea deal, which Sir Piggums and Mr. Ed reported with immense delight. Given the dynamic duo's propensity for deception regarding even mundane issues, however, it is important to consider they may have embellished, misconstrued, or otherwise fabricated some details.

Ronald McDonald has not pled guilty yet, and it'll likely still be a while before a hearing can be scheduled.
