Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

YUP! It's what I was so bloody confused about before. I legit thought they passed it already and I just missed it amongst other more local news. If they passed it in the early summer, right after it passed in the Senate, you'd start feeling some effects of it meant to appease the voting base by about mid-summer of 2022. It's too late now, the 'good' effects won't be felt until late winter 2023.
You're high on hopium again.

Crypto people are very concerned about an extremely small (only 8 words!) amendment to a law in the $555 billion (or $1.2 trillion) infrastructure bill, which for a start basically bans the entire decentralized privacy sector, but there is luckily some good news on that front.

A fix is possible and indeed some really pro-crypto Congressmen are working on that front.

Unfortunately however, crypto lobbyists (who are a very new feature of the Swamp) apparently have a reputation for being really stupid and not knowing what the fuck they're talking about. So there probably won't be any new supporters arising soon.

Maybe the media cheerleading can help people think this bill will improve their lives?

But will it pass the senate?
No, this one started in the senate and went to the house. It's going for Biden's desk. As little as it is.

You're high on hopium again.
Nah, this bill I am familiar with, I just thought it had already passed and I lost track of it. I work in a State not federally, and don't generally keep track of individual federal legislation unless I have to.

There is nothing in it. It's a bunch of 'feel good' stuff without any meat or merit. A few tidbits squirreled away here or there for some things, but nothing major or massive that would move the needle in 2022 one way or another having passed it right now. It's not hope, angst, or any emotion. It's just a factual analysis of how little and how late this bill is. Passed earlier it could have helped shore up 2022, but now? Just... not enough time for any of its effects to be felt.

Twitter is not real life. please dont think 'hero worship on twitter' is the same as 'the average democrat loves them'.

Democrats are fuuuucked. This doesn't 'make them less fucked'...it just means a giant hurdling cannon ball did not hit an already sinking ship. But it also kind of did because the 6 progressives fractured and there will absolutely be internal drama. They can blame republicans but the only reason it passed was Republican support. fucking funny tbh

Well, it is objectively an optics win for Biden and the Democrats, because most people arent going to research further and will just assume it’s bigger than it is.

Says a lot that “finally getting a useless stripped down bill passed” is considered a W at all, though.

Optics wins, and this is something the Republicans don't ever seem to learn, don't last. One right before an election can move the needle, but generally, the populace will forget all about that optics win as soon as the next episode of their favorite show airs. It's incredibly fleeting, and chasing optics wins is a large part of what makes RINOs cucks.

Good optics only matters if you can maintain them.

when Trump puts an expensive plan and passes a smaller one

omg 4d chess, it was he always wanted but he tricked them

when democrats put an expensive plan and passes a smaller one

it's worthless and means nothing. Republicans saved lots of money . they will surely repeal other bills
Nah, I am fairly universally in neither of those camps. Usually it's more "Right, so what is left in the negotiated down bill that was most important". Everything else was fluff.

Though in this case, I'd point out none of the three match. The "bipartsian bill" just passed was started in the Senate, with the RINOs. Its uh... not really a -democrat- bill.

It doesn't matter if it's a Democrat bill or not. Perception is everything.
Which is why I pointed out optics wins are worthless earlier. It might lead to a slight bump in his polls, but in the end, won't affect anything on the crises currently going on at all.

Honestly, I just find this whole thing confusing. There is nothing in the bill to warrant this as a major win. It's can-kicking at its finest, designed by the Uniparty to be the best equivalent of beige flavoured oatmeal. Enough payoffs to pay old debts, enough political nods to get 'bipartisan' support, nothing of note or worry it's just... beige. But it also had a massive fight over it despite being so, was for some reason massively delayed, and despite all of this its end effect a month from now will be a net 0. Didn't help, didn't hurt, won't affect the mid-terms. Wasn't ever -meant- to affect the midterms as it was passed in the Senate before the crises had even piled on.

There's is just nothing there to fight over,

That said, it did feel like a facet of the internal Dem civil war instead. Someone mentioned earlier it's Pelosi calling the bluff on the Prog caucus threats. As the results show, they're split and/or cucked.

Split, some did pull free and it looks like AOC is trying to salvage her Prog standing. The progs for now have gotten behind an interim leader, but that leader isn't strong enough to last so she too will get replaced. The popularity contest goes on.

Looks like it was only the Squad that voted against it. The actual progressive caucus is about a hundred strong. "Split" doesn't even seem like the right word to describe it, more like "left their 'leaders' out to dry".

Pelosi: Pass this bill, pwease?

RINOS:
6-13. CSPAN has declared it passed.

Now the Democrats will spend all of this week and next week making this vote look like a win comparable to Operation Bagration in terms of significance.
Pelosi: YEAH!!!!!.....wait.......
Pelosi when she realizes this didn't help the Dems at all:
