High Guardian Spice - Tumblr: The CalArt Anime

The ginger femboy is just creepy when among his amazing reasons for wanting to be a girl were 'soft skin' and 'small hands'. Like who even notices that shit unless you're always touching girls or constantly staring at them like an obsessive stalker anyway? He also wants to be like some female role models he looks up to but anyone capable of original thought understands you can simply admire people without wanting to be them, and why can't he aspire to have traits he can share with them like ones to do with your character, not your body? There is no reasoning with these types, Raye herself shows they all have the mentality of children who want to be the character on the cereal box because it looks kinda cool and it's their favourite thing. Actual smoothbrain thinking.
This is why I love this show.

Watch it like it was made by some traditionalist, bible thumping Republican and it becomes and extremely offensive comedy about diversity.

Interesting information...

It's 2005 fujoshi logic on female characters. If two people of the same sex have a deep friendship they must be gay. It's a really strange form of homophobia.

Anyway I watched the next two episodes because fuck you all. Episode two is another 23 minutes of nothing but girls talking to each other like witty Tumblr reblogs. It's episode three that's really worth talking about. The one called Transitions.

Yeah you know which one that is.

First off, Caraway (the trans character) is so blatant a creator self insert Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way is calling this dude out. This character is a trans man voiced by the creator of the show, who happens to be a trans man. What a coinky-dink. The way they describe being trans sounds like it's being explained to a child which makes me wonder who this cartoon is for. I would say fat Twitter enbies but they already know this shit. They shouldn't need an Explain Like I'm 5 version of being trans.

Aside from that, we meet Snapdragon (the femboy ginger) bitching to Caraway about how he gets bullied for being feminine and how he hates it because he wants to embrace being feminine. Instead of Caraway suggesting that Snapdragon tells these bullies to fuck themselves and just to be himself regardless of what others say, he preaches the gospel of trans to Snapdragon.

There's a few unfortunate implications.
1. You can be bullied into being trans.
2. You cannot be an effeminate man, you must be a trans woman and just not know it yet.

For being so against gender stereotypes, Twitter wokesters fucking love putting people in boxes based on gender stereotypes. If you're a man who enjoys needlepoint and frilly clothing, then be that. There's nothing wrong with that. Hell I'm not even against trans characters. I am against characters who feel less like humans and more like preachers and lecturers

I am not watching any more. It's not even funny bad. It's just pain.

The whole potion thing when it comes to troons is nonsensical, on top of the already-nonsensical practice of trooning. Caraway takes a potion that makes her a man, and if you don't take it after a month, you turn back into a woman. That's...not transgenderism. That's just changing genders, especially considering that this potion supposedly gives you all the biological functions of a man. Also, the potion is reversible. You can't reverse cutting your dick off or even attaching a fake penis onto you.

Also, if you get pregnant when you become a woman, and then stop taking the potion and turn into a man again, does that mean that your fetus disappears too?

Hence why the presence of a temporary AND permanent gender changing spell would be better. And it would be more interesting, since Caraway used a temporary gender changing spell and takes a potion so the effect lasts longer... Is he actually a female villain in disguise (otherwise he'd take a permanent gender changing spell)?

Sorry for double posting but I've just checked out the wiki out of curiosity
It was vandalized even further
Can't screenshot it rn

High Guardian Spice has received had a reception. Few online articles praise the show for its clear emphasis on black genocide, traditional gender roles, male empowerment, and other topics, while public review sites have received many negative reviews, with it having only 1.7 stars within less than a week of its general airing. Most of these reviews talk about forced diversity, terrible voice acting, bad animation and their subscription money being used on this rather than actual anime. So basically, it's the best Slice of Life anime out there.

Honestly, if they wanted to have their trans representation that much, this is how it should look like. No treating the audience like a bunch of 8 year olds (in a show supposedly for mature audience) and no cringy HRT metaphor. Anyone with at least two functioning brain cells should know what's going on. Oh, and the troon professor actually sounds like a man now lol

Edit: Oh shit, the wiki's just getting better and better

Amazing how just taking out words and having proper casting makes such a difference.

I guess the mods are asleep or something lmao.

Also speaking of Stephanie Sheh, apparently she's done hentai in the past or at least has done some sexy moaning. Olive seems like she's the only character worth a damn because catgirl villain, so I see her being lewded the most. Just throwing it out there.

They're going for an analog of hormone therapy. But in a fantasy society it comes across as lame. Sidenote, why is it called transition magic aside from trying to bludgeon you with LOOK A TRANS? It's a fantasy cartoon, call it something cool and fantasyish like polymorph magic.

This shit is finally out and it's fulfilling its prophecies better than I thought. Burn bitches burn. 🔥
An interview with Raye has been published and to no one's surprise, most of it is just her boasting how ~brave and stunning~ she is for having kwir characters and diversity in her show. Ugh.

Oh, really Raye??? Older anime are "#problematic"?? What's this, then?

Please kindly FUCK OFF.
Rate me MOTI, but I simply despise how all these woke hacks shit on older works for being ~too problematic uwu~ (look how much better my show is!!1!) but then have no problem obsessing over MLM (but not as those ~pesky fujos~ but as a transboi uwu), saying they're an "uke xDD" or just shamelessly ripping them off. I'm pretty sure those "#problematic" works have done so, so much more for the lgbt community and have inspired so much more people than your show ever will. Because they were certainly more fun than your show will ever be.

Western creators don't deserve anything, change my mind.

Of course a basic bitch like Raye would like a milquetoast yaoi like Gravitation. It's not even yaoi, it's shonen-ai. Yaoi includes (strangely censored in making the dicks invisible) sex. If we consider this an anime (:story:) "he's" not groundbreaking in the slightest. And if we consider this an American cartoon, he still isn't! The only ground Raye broke was the ground Crunchyroll was built on to the point it's tumbling down.

Why do they keep bringing up LWA? It wasn't that popular from what I saw. It was also really slow compared to their OVAs honestly. Did they finally beat Sailor Moon's horse enough times to shift to something else? Goes without saying it's leagues better than high garbage spice.

Troons claiming Ranma to be representative of troonism is the most obvious evidence of their autism. The actual character says "I HATE THIS" and they are unable to understand this and only see how he can change his body for one he doesn't want.

Also, "queer" in the way these people understand it, it's not a thing in Japan. They have a very different view of sex and gender and for them, a feminine looking man is neither trans or feminized. Like it's been pointed out before, Kenshin Himura is a good example: short, vulnerable-looking, and has a girly face with reddish hair. This isn't to "subvert expectations", this is to show he's attractive. Nobody in their right mind would think he wants to be a woman or would think he's a woman only because he can cook (Japanese men can both practice martial arts and have combat skills while also being skilled in more "homely" crafts such as origami, bonsai, ikebana...)

Like, bitch, this guy can cut you with that spoon, calm down.

(yes, I'm just posting that pix to cleanse everybody's souls and minds from this awful attempt of an anime... say "thank you, Tatty.")
thank you Tatty
As every day passes, I understand why japan is as xenophobic as it is. Clearly what they got going on is working in the long run. They just need to fix their workaholism to be set.

I'd call that mindset homophillia than phobia. Yesterday's faghags are today's fujoshis and genderspecials. That will also be tomorrow's faghags before they know it.

Aaaaaaaand Snapdragon is trans. Wow. I wasn't expecting that at all.
>tout diversity around like a purebred purse pet
>only let trannies voice trannies even the ones that aren't canonically so (yet)

If hypocrisy was fuel we'd have enough to power a fucking city for 5 years.

But will she continue to make more money off of it, is the real question.
If (s)he sold both the production and merch rights, that's all the money Raye is getting out of it forever. And now that Crunchyroll is getting bought, those rights are in limbo and only if he fights will he get them back. Normally I'd bitch about cartoon creator contracts being brutal as the years go by but this time I'm glad they are. Lock that shit away.

A bit off topic, but I wonder what will people like Raye do when being trans (and this whole genderspecialism in general) finally stops being cool among younger people?
I don't know, but HGS may fall into obscurity if this happens... I hope. This may or may not happen.

@yammygammy (RE: Japan, can't quote)

The thing with Japan, and I don't want to expand myself too much about this bc it's a bit OT, is that they aren't trying to fix what's not broken: Japan is a very conservative and traditional society that has existed as such (even before being known as Japan) way before USA and many of those views still remain because you just can't change society that easily. Men dressing as women is a thing they've done without the same taboos as western societies and it has a different reception as it does in a western culture: they won't necessarily think of homosexuality or transgenderism. Sure, they don't think it's common, but if they see a young man who wears wigs or like certain bright colors, they really don't give a shit, as much, they'd think this person is a bit of a goof. There is not a "stunning and brave" issue for them.

rather than being xenophobic (despite they are), I'm sure they think the deal with SJWs is that they're so autistic they can't understand that a soft man doesn't stop being a man because he's soft. And I think most societies would think this way except SJWs who don't belong to any kind of society or culture.

A bit off topic, but I wonder what will people like Raye do when being trans (and this whole genderspecialism in general) finally stops being cool among younger people?
Kill xyrself.
