Given this is Moviebob we're talking about, I give neither a damn nor a fuck about halping him achieve his Superiaa Fyuuchaa. Both are just different ways of expressing the same thing, letting go is an acknowledgement of the incoercible advance of time, to "live in the past" is to futiley deny it as such. Which is really at the heart of what makes Bob so repulsive and nasty:
He thinks he's too good for death.
Literal cosmic arrogance, and no matter how he tries to hide it, cloak it as virtue or at least make it more digestible to the public, that "meaty" center of his ideology always shines through:
His own mortality is uniquely unjust among humanity as a whole, forward and backward through time.
But unlike any other healthy and rational person who also, presumably, would rather not die, he feels that somehow, without commensurate achievements to humanity , he DESERVES it not.
We all have the selfish desire to keep living, but at least we can recognize it as such and try to find a productive outlet for that stress. Religion, work, a hobby, a relationship, etc. Something other than sitting at home and stewing.
I think that's the fundamental building block that gives human achievement intrinsic value, "you knew you had only a limited number of working days, and this is what you chose to do when all life-sustaining tasks were met? It obviously meant something"
Bob? he seems unable to come to grips with it in any way that doesn't turn into (unwarranted) righteous fury, not at the Universe or God, per se, but at the common man who's somehow to blame.
In fact, THAT'S what makes him such an insufferable person.
He's not just pissed he's gonna die someday, he's pissed YOU, personally, aren't doing anything about it....
