Ok I'm super dense and don't speak corporate tech, but how in the fuck does that even make sense?

It's a way to give money to a khantent creator, donate money to them if you will.

Daves autistic (and wrong) use of the word crowdfunding might be biting him in the ass here?

Edit: @Comma @Piece of Peace or other masters of money/economy tism please help if you can.
Honestly, I don't know. Maybe that's the reason why he changed his lingo to "If you want to support me / the channel..."? Or does he really still use the term "fundraiser"? I don't watch his ahnest kahntent anymore besides the snippets from shinko fleur or piece of peace so I wouldn't know.

I think ''fundraiser'' is a thing of the past.
"If you want to support me / the channel." is very much still a thing. The only new thing in his begment.txt is that now he actively begs for store credits as well as money, so he is evolving as a beggar khantent creator.

Today I decided to watch the restream and my god he is such an insufferable piece of shite. Like if you tip him for a game to buy, he says that money goes to bills even though you specified its for the game and covers the costs. Lately, he has been demanding game store credit to get games but why? He probably realized if he gets tips he needs to tax it as income plus the PayPal fees. But with a game credit he pays no fees or taxes on it and he can claim it as a tax write-off. Either he claims it as a gift or just says he paid the game credit via cash or some other non-traceable payment method then writes it off in his taxes. Still scummy if someone gives him money for a game and he refuses to use that money for the game but it only can pay bills.

Also Phil is desperate to get his YouTube back up, I guess reading all the stats of his channel and bills that people made here made him realize his channel is dying. It just shows Phil is the type of guy seeing his channel slowly dying and says "I will let Future Phil handle it when it tanks to a certain point." People have been telling him for years to change and stop suppressing comments, likes, and to change how he uploads videos. Now he is doing what people told him he should have been doing, even doing things like putting stuff behind him, although very lazily.

Also it is sad he is demanding his fans to step it up to pay his bills. I am sorry you are running a business, you shouldn't have to rely on your audience for 100% of your funding especially in the streaming industry. Most if not all streamers, small and big, have some sort of sponsorship or other avenues of making money. His excuse of not shilling is stupid, you're an entertainer trying to make a living and your fans won't care if you advertise a mobile game to pay the bills. But he says the trolls will send letters to those companies saying Dave is a scammer or whatever, so Dave feels like it is pointless to even try. Again I am sorry but if your business is not making enough money like he said then you should try regardless of trolls. If anything it just shows trolls live in his head rent free and he fears them like the plague. Trolls are winning in that regard.

Lastly, the way he treats his viewers is sad and detrimental to his channels growth. Someone asked him what his bills are and instead of saying rewind the stream to find out or just say it quickly, he rants on how stupid they are. Yes Dave, that is a good way to treat your viewers plus what if they just came into the stream or is a new viewer. He just instead ridicules them for not listening and calls them stupid morons. DSP keep it up, you will be your own demise.

TL;DR Phil is stupid and doesn't know how to run a business.

Mr. Tax man might know better than me, so don't take my word as 100% true and honest, but the difference between getting money from people from a tax perspective is how it's used. Gifting/giving somebody money for nothing in return is tax free up to a certain amount, while giving money in exchange for something in return is a business traction and thus taxable. Store credit can also be seen that way since it has monetary value. From my perspective and understanding, it seems like he's trying to pay as little as possible when it comes to taxes.

Editing this to add in, it's presumably why I think he always talks about how the money is for him to pay off his taxes and why he doesn't spend anything/very little on stream related stuff.

He makes no secret that he prefers tips because of the immediate access to them versus Superchats, but it's still hilarious to hear him pushing them as being something that 'helps the channel a lot in the long-term'. When has anything ever helped him in the long-term? There's ALWAYS an immediate crisis. It's not like it makes a difference when the time comes that he actually receives that money, he's 100% still going to be be asking for immediate help. It's that kind of obvious stuff that baffles me when nobody who gives him money, especially via Superchats, questions him about it.
Add long term to the list. Long term = 1 month.
he always talks about super chat tips help him in 2 month, but what about the super chat tips from 2 month ago ? his wheelchairs are so stupid XD
He's lying because he did not wait 2 months for super chat bux when he first went back.

Philliam needs credits because he has reached that part in the cycle of any addict without serious fuck you money where even he knows he'll just spend any money given on gin and sweaty men as soon as he possibly can, credits is a form of forced budgeting essentially.

If Phil set himself up as a 501c3 then that might count. Or if OIC is a close relative of his then 15,000 isn't taxed and the rest gets paid by the creeper. Otherwise his store credits are entirely income he should be including on his taxes and he is doing it the entire wrong way. He should be getting tips that go directly towards the games so they can count as a business expense. When getting gifted this way, the amount of the gift counts as taxable income and there is no deduction for expenses. So the only thing here that I can see is either Phil is trying to evade taxes or he is a moron. Both equally possible

I do wonder if asking for credits is his way of "managing" his gacha addiction? Instead of blowing all of his money on gacha and having to scramble to pay for new titles (since Game Pass can only do so much), this time, he gets his paypigs to buy the games for him, thereby saving him the trouble of having to pay for the games. All the while still allowing him to blow all his money on gacha.

That's exactly what it is. He can't afford everything, not any more, so naturally instead of cutting back on gacha, he coaxes the pigs into covering for him. He knows he won't spend any money on games, so long as it's money that's available for other things. It has to be something he can only use to purchase games, or whatever, for the stream.

It's more of the "make somebody be my mommy" shit he relies upon to get through life, just like how it's always someone else's fault that he crossed a line with his behavior. He's too scared to burden himself with that kind of accountability, because he associates that with being an adult, and for all his bluster, that's not something he wants to truly be.

But the more important part is how it demonstrates the extent to which his whaling is damaging his finances, and it's only going to get worse from here. I'll wager he won't cut back on it even to save the Wakhando. He'll try his damnedest to keep both, and then lose his big boy home. And even if he proves me wrong, by cutting back, that won't last forever.

He isn't that smart. He knows he will spend all tips on Champions. The tips are for Champions, that's HIS money. You tip, you tip for Champions, you want games, buy credit.
