November 2 bug fixing build (archive)
I didn’t intend to release another bug-fixing build so fast, but there was one issue in the game that I really, really wanted to fix ASAP, so here’s another build for you!

To see a list of everything that was fixed or changed in the latest build, please scroll down past this gorgeous artwork of Ayano by Yiki-chan!

Fixes and Changes
  • Fixed bug that would cause the player to perform their walking animation while remaining in one spot if the player was walking as they used the “Pass 30 minutes of time” book in the library.
  • If the bookcase is pushed over without killing the librarian rival (Honami), she will adjust her routine and stop walking over to that bookcase.
  • Fixed bug that would cause button prompts to move around the screen in a “choppy” way, inconsistent with the player’s actual framerate.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Student Info menu to be laggy while attempting to tell a mind-broken slave who to go assassinate.
  • The save file text seen from the title screen will now always have a black outline, since that makes it much more legible.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent the game from remembering the player’s Camera Position (left, right, behind) preference.
  • The “Killing Rival Slow Motion” effect will no longer occur when tranquilizing a rival in the gym storage room.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Senpai of 1980s Mode to have zero reaction to a note/gift left on his desk.
  • Removed “…that…ring…” easter egg from 1980s Mode, since it only applies to 202X.
  • Fixed a typo on the Content Checklist screen.

I gotta hand it to him, he has developed a cycle of adding shit content and modes to the game just so he can spend months doing nothing but "bugfixes". I bet his fans see the changelogs and think "wow Alex is working so hard!".

It's a good strategy for fooling people who aren't knowledgeable about game development and/or naive people, which is what his fanbase is mostly made of. He is still doing less than the bare minimum but hey, it pays the bills.

The new month obviously just arrived with the corresponding drop in earnings/Patrons for Alex and while it'll be a little bit for the numbers to stabilize, I noticed something somewhat odd about the day before the new month.
odd.PNG

Alex lost $90 in earnings that day but there was no change in the number of Patrons. It's very close in size to the increase we see on October 11th and 12th. Could be coincidence, could be silly games inflating earnings, who knows. Either way, Alex is back under $2,000 again (for now) with total number of Patrons trending downwards faster than usual.

Here are the columns written for the 1980's mode rivals from the third week onwards. (A)

Bear in mind that these are all published and anybody can read them as soon as they walk in the door.

Nobody in the entire school was apparently interested in watching over the library until Honami came back.
View attachment 2653555
Sumiko is better at almost every physical activity than the male students. So much so, she stays clubless because everybody else would slow her down, according to whoever wrote the column.
View attachment 2653556
Ritsuko is the heiress to Chikanari Industries, a company that supplies raw materials that the Saikou Corporation uses for their products. After that part, the column straight up gossips that her father bribed the head master to let her enroll because her test scores were too low, and that she doesn't intend to do any school work during her time there. All in a "this totally isn't gossip and this column totally doesn't reflect anybody else's views, but..." kind of way.

Ai wants to be a singer, yadda yadda. then it mentions the rumor that she only enrolled at Akademi to launch her career. Apparently, this rumor is just cruel and whoever is reading should go ahead and support her, unlike with Ritsuko.
View attachment 2653558
Teiko wants to be a teacher and as such, was teaching abroad before returning to Akademi. She learned multiple languages and is apparently more qualified on certain subjects than some college professors. The reason she came back is because she wants the "high school experience."

Komako is insanely popular to the point that the author says that if you don't know who she is, then you must have hit your head on a rock. She's smart, humble, all that good stuff. The author and the other students like her so much that, unlike with both Ritsuko and Ai, everybody decided to respect her privacy when she vaguely explains her absence as "family business" and not pry her for details (or start rumors apparently).
View attachment 2653560
Chigusa is a celebrity, an extremely popular gravure model. As such, she's the center of attention and all the men at school like her. There are "theories" (read: rumors) that she only enrolled to do one photo shoot before ditching the school.
View attachment 2653561
And guess who gets the most attention out of all of them? Sonoko, the junior detective, that's who.

Summary: After figuring out a serial killer's cipher (as a hobby, mind you), the police apparently considered her a prodigy and requested her help with the investigation, even allowing her access to the crime scenes and evidence. With her help, the killer was eventually caught and she became famous, resulting in her dropping out of Akademi and becoming a junior detective to help the police solve more high-profile crimes. One day, she became the Journalist's apprentice after he helped her with a case. After a year-long absence (yes, all of that took place within a year), the official narrative is that she decided to return to Akademi to graduate properly, regretting leaving things half-finished. Then it goes into more "theory" territory, with the author saying that she only returned to Akademi because the Journalist wanted her to investigate the school without the headmaster restricting him. When some students asked if she needed help, she asked the volunteers to take photographs of anything suspicious.

God they're so fucking ugly. Incredibly generic and bland, they're basically oats shaped into anime girls.

November 5th Bug-Fixing Build and Small ABC Update (archive)
I’ve fixed some bugs and also made a small update to the “Alphabet Killer Challenge.” If you’ve played 1980s Mode to death and you’ve been searching for an new challenge to tackle, you might be interested in hearing about it!

To see a list of everything that is fixed or changed in the latest build, scroll down past this cool artwork by Denzel Adobas!

Fixes and Changes
  • Because the game is still in development, certain school subject ranks do not grant benefits. For example, leveling up Chemistry from Rank 1 to Rank 2 doesn’t grant you any new abilities. Certain players believed that this was a bug, and have been reporting the issue to me. To reduce confusion, the game will now clearly communicate whether or not a specific school subject benefit is implemented while displaying the “Rank Up” window after the player has leveled up a specific school subject.
  • From now on, if Ryoba kidnaps any student that wears glasses, that student will not wear their glasses in Ryoba’s basement. This is to prevent issues with glasses clipping through a kidnapped character’s blindfold.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent the game from properly recording the disposal of a character’s corpse if the character had been disposed using the vat of acid in the science club in 1980s Mode.
  • Fixed bug that would allow the player to poison a girl’s bento through her bookbag even if the girl had already removed her bento from her bookbag and was eating it.
  • Removing clothing in the shower building will now automatically remove any masks that the player may be wearing.
  • From now on, the 1989 task book will be gone from 202X, and the 202X task book will be gone from 1980s Mode.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the player from picking up the “cloaking device” in the Alphabet Killer Challenge.
  • Fixed bug that prevented one of the club leaders from having an armband in his student profile picture.
  • Fixed bug that would cause a makeshift knife to float in the air after it had been crafted.
Small Alphabet Killer Challenge Update
The “Alphabet Killer Challenge” is a challenge that tasks the player with killing every student in school in alphabetical order – that’s 79 students who all have to be killed in one day, and all in a specific order.

The challenge is activated by typing “A B C D E F G” while in the protagonist’s bedroom.

(Previously, if the player activated this challenge while in 1980s Mode, they would be tasked with killing all 1989 students in the same order as the 202X students. As of this build, however, activating the “Alphabet Killer Challenge” in 1980s Mode will present you with a list of students arranged in alphabetical order for 1989 rather than 202X.)

To make this task a little easier, I added some tools that the player can find in the Student Council room:

  • A device that jams phone signals
  • Pills that prevent your sanity from going down
  • A fast-moving robot that cleans up blood for you
  • A sci-fi “cloaking device” that makes you turn invisible
  • An object that makes students stand perfectly still for 60 seconds
  • Smoke bombs that prevent students from witnessing you commit murder
  • Stink bombs that cause all characters in the vicinity to immediately run away
  • “Amnesia bombs” that cause all characters in the vicinity to completely forget about any murders they may have witnessed
These tools are not new additions; they’ve been in the game for months now. However, I’ve been thinking about them, and they make the Alphabet Killer Challenge almost trivially easy. They are more like “cheats” than “tools,” really.

With that in mind, I added a new feature to the challenge: a difficulty display. Whenever you grab or activate any of the objects listed above, the difficulty display will updated, and indicate whether or not you’re playing an easy or hard version of the Alphabet Killer Challenge that is aided by cheat objects.

The different difficulty levels are:

  • Nightmare (0 cheat objects used)
  • Extremely Hard (1 cheat objects used)
  • Very Hard (2 cheat objects used)
  • Hard (3 cheat objects used)
  • Normal (4 cheat objects used)
  • Easy (5 cheat objects used)
  • Very Easy (6 cheat objects used)
  • Extremely Easy (7 cheat objects used)
  • Baby (All cheat objects used)
I wonder if anyone will ever be able to complete the challenge on Nightmare difficulty? It would probably be very frustrating, so I understand if nobody is interested in trying that. (The SECOND student you have to kill in the 1980s version of the Alphabet Killer Challenge is a delinquent surrounded by 4 other delinquents!! Good luck with that if you’re not using cheat objects!)

By the way – in both the 1989 and 202X version of the Alphabet Killer Challenge, the first student you have to kill is a girl in the cooking club. This was not intentional; it turned out that way by sheer coincidence. Funny how things turn out that way sometimes!

Think he could be doing it himself to try to keep others from pulling out?
This fuckery has been a thing for what, a year? Every time he drops under 2k and he was dropping like 200 bucks under, some mysterious whale or whales donate just enough money to push him over 2k. Yes, Patreon numbers drop at the beginning of new month, but previously it was rather random and now it's almost like someone is bound on keeping it over 2k.

It is a weird pattern. I think it's either a really rich fag that just desperately wants the game for some reason, or he's doing it himself so as not to lead everyone into pulling their money.

Both are possible. Lardbelly, Cameron and ClevelandCuck were actively donating him money on streams and the last one was his $100 tier patron, all of this while being his free volunteers and janitors. Alex has enough simps who he can tell "hey, please, can you bump your donation, I REALLY need this" and they will oblige. On the other hand, he's never been above socking, samefagging and has always been afraid of his numbers going down.

November 6 bug fixing build (archive)
Phew! Finally, I’ve reached the point where these builds can start to be more about “miscellaneous improvements I wanted to make to the game” rather than bug fixes. There are still a lot of bug fixes in this latest build, though.

To read a list of everything that is fixed or changed in the latest build, scroll down past this beautiful artwork of Ryoba by OMGayano!

Fixes and Changes
  • Fixed bugs that would cause a sleuth’s smartphone/camera to disappear from their hands, leaving them posing as if they were holding a smartphone/camera even though their smartphone/camera was gone.
  • A lot of players were confused by the event that is triggered when entering the hair salon in 1980s Mode. I’ve adjusted the event slightly so that it’s a bit more apparent what is going on.
  • Fixed bug that caused the 1980s Headmaster/Counselor/Journalist portraits to appear in the Student Info menu of 202X, but only when viewed inside of Yandere-chan’s home.
  • Fixed bug that caused certain items to have weird names; for example, “MagicalGirlWand” instead of “Magical Girl Wand” or “Cigarettes (Clone)” instead of “Cigarettes”.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to freeze in place if the player was attacked by a teacher while in the middle of an attack animation with another student.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent the protagonist from successfully changing clothing if the player attempted to change clothing very rapidly.
  • The convenience store in 1980s Mode is a different chain than the one in 202X, so from now on, its appearance will be different in 1989.
  • Fixed bug that made Ayano’s hair appear on Ryoba if the cloaking device was activated and deactivated in 1980s Mode.
  • Adjusted height of the tall woman in the town, since I accidentally made her much taller than intended.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Newspaper Club President’s task to only be available in the morning.
  • Updated the voiced lines of the drug addicts in the asylum to reflect how I imagined them talking.
  • Fixed bug that made Ryoba’s face look kinda derpy during some of the game over sequences.
  • Updated the sprites and dialogue of the shopkeepers in the 1980s Mode shopping street.
  • Adjusted 1980s Mode rival portraits slightly.

please forgive me if this is a really stupid idea (though probably better than alex's, that isn't saying much) but
if he wanted to make it so no minors were being killed couldn't he make some dumb lore excuse where the school is only for people age 18-19 to "prepare" them to succeed in the real world or college or some other rich person bullshit excuse. maybe like an inbetween for college and high school.
it's supposed to be a wealthy school after all.

I don't think that's dumb, in fact, I'd say it's common sense. I don't think the issue is with highschoolers being killed, that's not exactly a taboo subject in video games, it's more that there's a completely unnecessary gameplay mechanic where you take upskirt pictures of minors that's the problem. And, instead of just removing that mechanic, which is again completely unnecessary, he decided to make it LARP university.

It's impressive he didn't immediately clue into a buffer overflow issue with the mega bug's symptoms. I'm surprised he found it honestly. I guess he's making progress. I wonder if the current version of Unity will even be supported by the time he's done.

Not really, since beyond just killing students, you are (or were IDK) able to:

- Dismember them.
- Put their corpses into a wood chipper or acid bath.
- Kill them brutally Manhunt style by repeatedly stabbing or hitting.
- Set them on fire.
- Make them a target for bullying.
- Make them kill themselves.
- Put them in your basement to "mentally torture", like what, calling them a bitch time after time?
- Brake their sanity to kill another student and then kill themselves.

That's excluding stuff like feeding corpses to pigs or masking a grave with a dead kitten of your own making, that never made it into the game.

As for sexualizing minors:

- Purple-haired bitch is whoring herself to perverts, it is still in the game and you can even see her at the street with one of them. Her friend helped her by selling her underwear or pictures, I don't remember.
- Changing underwear of an underage protagonist.
- You can't seduce other students or teachers, EVEN THOUGH ALEX PLANNED THIS FEATURE, but you raise that stat with reading erotic manga. Nothing wrong with that.
- I don't know if it made into the 80s mode, but Alex's favorite feature of "selling underage girls into sex slavery".
- NURSE, COUNSELOR and SISTER

You can't just put a blanket on all this shit and pretend it's ok.

Tbh, I don't think the violence is all that big of a deal, based on how fucking cartoony it all is. Its visceral sure but it's like, regardless of how old a character in yansim is supposed to be they all look exactly the same to me, a shitty unity asset anime model ragdolling and cliping through the floor because you pulled it around a corner. But violence in videogames in general never really bothered me.

Sexualizing of characters doesn't bother me either. Sexualizing of children is wrong in all forms, but given its specifically an anime game I can see how it would be aimed for an audience to cater to that shit. For instance, an echi anime set in a highschool that is targeted to and enjoyed by teenagers isn't really a bad thing.

The part that gets to me, is that its not for the tropes, its not for the audience, its for ALEX. Alex gets off to this shit and is forcing it onto everyone else. Anytime someone mentions their shouldn't be panty shots? Banned, you're stupid, etc etc.
You cant say a game is for adults and therefor aim it at adults but make it a game that sexualized teenagers. Im not saying to start making games specifically for teenagers that involve sexualizing their peer group but anime and even western studios the like know what their audience is. Shity shows like riverdale do this all the time. Are the directors creeps? Sure as shit, but the show isn't obviously made for them but rather the teenage/YA audience that can enjoy that stuff because the characters theyre seeing/crushing on is in their age range. Alex on the other hand, has received vocal criticism and refuses to change his tune..and its not because his audience is clamoring for his poorly written shit fest, but because thats what he likes. You're not playing a videogame, you're playing with Alex's toys.
