I am all for returning to segregation and Balkanization. Things, as they are, are never going to get better unless we sit down and have an AUTHENTIC CONVERSATION about what the real issues are.
But we will never have that. Certain factions will make damn sure we never have that conversation. So Balkanization and segregation it should be.
But I already know that those same factions ALREADY are playing the violent, abusive spouse and refusing to let those of us who are tired to walk away and divest of all this. Many of us do not have the luxury (like the Jan. 6 protester who went to Belarus) to just sell our house and flee the country. But I know that there are a considerable number of us who, if given the option, would prefer to live in peace--away from those who we are clearly incompatible with.

In a roundabout way, he’s right about the Republican Party “not existing” in a year. Before 2016 they were in critical stagnation… and then Trump (who is not a Republican) showed them the path forward as the party of the working class. In Trump’s dream of the Republican Party, it doesn’t matter if you’re black or brown or gay - you’re welcome as long as you believe in freedom from an overbearing federal government.
Now, it’s the Republican’s choice if they want to continue on their current path to inevitable death, or if they want to embrace Trump’s dream for them and become the new party of the common man.
