Live Action Anime Adaptations - ft yu yu Hakusho

A live action YuYu Hakkusho makes about as sense as a One Piece live action show. If you haven’t learned anything from Dragon Ball Evolution, then you have learned nothing at all.

I heard the Death Note one was better than the original crap (the live-action one made in Japan, not the Netflix one). Then again it looks like live action adaptations are more faithful to the source material when made in their own country but I could be wrong.

I am surprised though that Neftlix picked actors who actually look like the characters to play the cast of One Piece.

The question now is how crappy the story will be.
What the fuck is eminem doing in there? Someone call his handlers he's out of control

Alita Battle Angel was great. As was Speed Racer - to this day I'm quite confused as to why it was panned so heavily when it was released.

I also enjoyed the GitS movie, which seems to have flown under the radar and straight into the Walmart $5 DVD bin.

On the whole I'm skeptical of the whole idea, though. Not sure why Netflix is on such a kick to make these things. Maybe the licenses are really cheap and adapting existing stories is cheaper than entirely new scripts… who knows.

There are only two Live Action anime adaptations that are good, one made by Hollywood

That's it. Everything else is autistic trash.

I always find it funny how people scream about Hollywood not being able to make a good live-action adaption of anime (despite Speed Racer, Alita, and Ghost in the Shell saying otherwise), but they seem to forget about Japan's own list of fucks ups that I'd say is far larger: 3 Death note movies, Attack on Titan movies, FMA, Jojo, Lupin the 3rd. Heck, Japan couldn't even adapt Jin-Roh, that went to South Korea (and ho-boy was a huge mess that movie was)

The french live action City Hunter is really good movie. You can feel that the director(also main actor) really loves and understands the series and isn't ashamed of it. And only the french could adapt without changing the content (it is set on french with the french dub names, but it still gets all the character stuff right)

I heard the Japanese Death Note films were pretty good

To be honest a live action One Piece could work if they just capture the spirit of the story rather than try to adapt too faithfully since it would be impossible to try to faithfully adapt all of One Piece
Considering my mixed feelings about the OP storyline now, I'd rather they do their own standalone story like the early OP films that just keeps the characters true to themselves. Wouldn't mind seeing a Sanji who isn't a complete simp again who only acts flirtatious. But knowing Netflix, I can only guess things will be disastrous. Probably even make Zoro and Sanji gay for each other to "appease long time shippers".
Why YuYu Hakusho?
Because its too manly so they have to sissify it.

Yeah but Alita and Speed Racer weren't made by Netflix.
