It's not hard to schedule an email to be sent, or write a letter and leave it behind, where you reassure them it's not their fault, that you're sorry and will always love them, and that you hope they can one day forgive you. Or you can just be vague on the phone while making sure they know that regardless of all the shit he's put them through that he loves them.

Alternatively you could just do what Lowtax has done for the majority of his kids' lives and ignore them.
