Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

I don't keep up with Lowtax's life (it's too depressing) honestly but what I will say is the timing of his suicide will be very good for drama. She only revealed the details she did because she was upset about the mother accusing her of being to blame
I wonder if Mom Tax has Logan’s email address too?
I don’t really agree with the last statement.
For some people who are fucked in the head or so, suicide feel like the only way out of a bad situation.
In lowtax case however, he didn’t want to pay child support so fuck him.
In fairness he did pay plenty of child support and alimony to his first wife without killing himself. But he wasn’t printing money in 2021, like he was during the first divorce.
I never read up on his divorce drama because it was depressing, but I have read enough to know his exs seem like awful people who are all probably BPD trainwrecks.

I mean look at the Canadian's post about his suicide. "I didn't want to reveal this stuff because I'm a good person, but you'll understand I'm such a victim I have no choice." Entirely self-pitying. Fuck her. I pity their children.
Only one child with leafwife, he had children (2) with his first wife.

I always got the idea that Lowtax did not want more kids after his first marriage. He was not pleased when Leafwife got pregnant just a few months after they got married. It seems like their relationship was awful and miserable after the “accident” pregnancy. He didn’t trust her and she resented him ignoring her and leaving her care for the baby alone 98% of the time. He then claimed his back was borked and began heavily abusing pills.

Shitty situation but hooking up with Logan was probably the worst option to take in those circumstances.

Man I was on SA back in the 2000s, I liked joining in the MSPaint threads. I remember the E/N subforum, basically goons post threads asking for agony aunt/uncle advice on the understanding that people will mock them if they think they deserve it but will give advice and support. There was one guy who lived with his wife and neglected young daughter and baby son in a filthy trailer with rotting floors full of cats and his kewl leet epic gaming PC setup that he'd spent more money on than on his home for the family. CPS had taken the kids and he was asking E/N if he could get any money from suing them. Not just if he could get the kids back, you understand, if he could get paid in the process.
Well, the goons were furious with him and told him what a deadbeat piece of shit he was. He went quiet for a while and then returned months later to say he realised how selfish he'd been, he'd cleaned up the trailer, was taking his work and studies seriously, got the kids back and was taking his parenting seriously too and looking after them, CPS were checking in and had said they were satisfied. He and his wife turned their life around, got help, took responsibility and took good care of the kids, and he was much happier himself as a result too. And the goons congratulated him and told him to stick to it and he'd be grand, and it was a nice happy ending.

Lowtax had access to far more support, connections and resources than that guy did. He could and should have done the same, seeing a clear example of a shitty dad being called a shitty dad and changing himself into a good dad right on his own forums, it was a guide for everything he should've been doing. Instead he suicided and now he'll never be a good dad OR be happy or healthy himself again. Rotting trailer goon was a better role model than Lowtax.
What happened to his rig though?

Ashley is trash. When married to him, she spent her days getting sloshed and writing painfully unfunny tweets. It seems funny that she alternates between a gym badass and a hapless victim. Just shows the type of people he wants to bring into her life.

The downward spiral started ages ago, possibly all the way back in 2006 when he threw a fit over people calling him out for shilling mangosteens and including an Amazon affiliate link:

Everything got progressively worse for him after that, and he killed himself 15½ years later.

That's a good candidate for his first public freakout and starting to openly nosedive, but I'd push the start of the spiral back to 2004ish, maybe even late 2003, my memory's hazy after 18 years. Right around then was when he posted what was at the time a funny story about trying Ambien out of desperation after a bout of insomnia, tripping balls, and waking up not remembering all sorts of weird shit he did while sleepwalking. It was hilarious until those sort of Ambien and box wine jokes/stories kept happening and it started getting weird. That seemed to be the first signs of him discovering a taste for pills. That was also right around when he began hiring guys to write some of the frontpage daily stuff and mostly retreated to the forum himself. The first guy whose name I can't remember was ok, not as funny as Lowtax was but at least wasn't a dick, but the second guy was a prototype of that screechy, preachy everything-is-political-and-I-must-point-it-ALL-out shitbag personality that infests everything now. A proto-Twittard, and a bizarre mismatch with the original site/board culture. No idea how that dildo slithered in to a contributor position.

Not me. He story seems like a classic 'Rise-and-Fall' tales, of somebody who was in the right place at the right time to make big, but because his massive character flaws pissed all away. It's a story that only become interesting once it has ended and all the pieces can fitted into one another.
He's still a guy with a young family whose depression and pain slipped past us. I know you're right, but Richie was one of us. I hope he's at peace.

I think he still had it but he quit his WoW subscription and only occasionally played vidya, and played age-appropriate games together with his older kid. Still a goon after all, but he gave his hobby a much better level of priority compared to his actual responsibilities and he didn't ignore the kids to do it.

Zach Parsons, the guy who "wrote" My Tank is Fight? You're right, he was a proto-SJW faggot and is probably even worse now.

I remember when he got angry that South Park trolled the country with their 100th episode by not taking a stance on the second Iraq War after making the entire episode about the political division over the conflict. He wrote a very serious front page article about it. I lost all respect for him after that.

What year did the office incident happen? The one where goons made a pilgrimage to SA's weird strip mall office for a bumper sticker and they found LowT passed out surrounded by empty wine and pill bottles?

One great thing at SA is the "date registered" showing under every post, plus the "stupid newbie" avatars - both are dead giveaways for the useless passersbys who shit up every featured thread with their plebeian opinions and make it so much easier to outright ignore such posts while thumbing through 50+ new pages 'a day. The highlight feature will always skip a few good post, alas.

It's very easy to add such a thing but I intentionally show nothing but avatar+name+message. I don't really like elitism and prefer people to be judged by what they say.
